diamond_ace 3,112
TPE is a silly thing, sometimes. We go and put in all this work to get it, yet some players with 400 TPE play like they have 900, and some with 900 play like they have 400. I don't even know if it's worth it anymore. I mean on the whole, there's definitely a positive correlation between having a higher TPE and a more successful player, but when the correlation is only perhaps about a .3 to .5 correlation, and nowhere near a full 1, it's not really something that is as valuable as it potentially could or should be. While I was one of the more diligent of hoarders of the magical TPE with my first player and similarly so with my second, now that I'm on Brookside I miss the occasional bit here or there and don't really mind as much. I mean I'm still pretty heavily getting it, I'll probably be over 475 when I finish the update I'm currently typing up (and this Fan 590 will be in that update) but I'm not worrying so much if I miss a bit here or there. If I end up in the 800s or so, so be it. My 922 player outplayed my 956 player, what's to say my mid-to-high 800s player can't outplay both of them? Yes, I realize it also says something to be worried about a letdown from a player but still likely get well into the 800s, there are valuable and respected members of this community who haven't gotten that for one and a half players, but in the days of 1200 TPE guys, even Intranquilo's 956 seems tiny in comparison. Phil 5,129
this is why i've stopped trying. If the STHS likes you, then you'll be godlike no matter what the TEEPEE-E Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/9990-tpe/#findComment-94092 Share on other sites
Devise 4,475
Player builds, team make up, positional need, STHS chemistry. There is tons that matter other than just flat out TPE. But getting high tpe and knowing what to do with it is a key. I mean tons of quality members on here create very good players again and again and again. And it isn't like some of the players with the highest TPE in the league aren't rewarded either. Tordahl, Tukio, Taylor, Zhumbayev, Osbourne, Remy, Chershenko, Reik. You could keep going. But more often than not the players that lead the league in stats end up having higher TPE numbers. You do have some anomalies though. This was mostly because I was doing an update, knew I hadn't done a 590, and wanted to get something in. TPE was on my mind because I was in the middle of working with TPE. STZ 5,388
Good article here. At the end of the day, earn TPE to have fun, not as a chore. It's all a dice roll at the end of the day, and if you bank your gaming experience on whether or not your player does good, you're more than likely going to be disappointed. But yeah, entertaining 590 perspective. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/9990-tpe/#findComment-94139 Share on other sites
