  1. Sterling what is going on
  2. I still think we're overachieving a bit but on paper there was a clear top 7 (Moscow probably 6th/7th) and bottom 3. I know you gotta be optimistic about your own team (or second team in your case) but Malmo is just a step behind TPE-wise for now, plain and simple.
  3. This is fucking treacherous behaviour, knew I shouldn't have brought a Latvian to Moscow.
  4. Absolutely correct my man, but give them credit they stole a point this time.
  5. Boubabi vs Nyko is an ego showdown I would pay to watch
  6. #FreeBoubabi
  7. Iconic comeback.

    need tpe

Uhhh https://vhlforum.com/topic/54866-exactly-150-words/ Ive dropped some very dodgy 3 TPE podcasts too (good thing no one listens to them lol), y’all need to chill.
  9. One more season and this is mathematically accurate.
  10. Very late response to your very late post - this MS was focused on teams that failed to win a cup at all like for instance S63-S65 Seattle, not S64 or S65 Riga who won in S63. Hence Toronto didn’t qualify as they won in S21.
  11. You better hope there’s no more expansion teams to overtake you within three seasons.
  12. Disclaimer: anyone in HOF discussion had a r pretty damn gold career
  13. ITT: Terrible franchises
  14. In my heart he is LeGod but in my head I think we all got hype from that time you swept Davos lol.
  15. Focusing on Holik as he has Moon beat in all stats other than GAA and has a Shaw to Moon's 0. Granted Moon had better playoff stats but that's a different matter. See the Ay Ay Ron article for context on why I'm doing this: https://vhlforum.com/topic/66572-would-ay-ay-ron-be-the-worst-defenceman-in-the-hof/ There have been 20 goalies inducted into the Hall of Fame, but I'm going to exclude the 3 guys who played between S1 and S7 (Maxim Desny, Matthew Pogge, Adrian McCreath) as their stats don't hold up. So if the other 17 became 18, where would Holik rank in the key stats? Wins: 292 (12th) Behind him: Sandro Clegane, Alex Gegeny, Benoit Devereux (slightly shorter careers), Apollo Skye, Norris Stopko, Remy LeBeau (better playoff performances, more awards) Save%: .922 (13th) – tied with Hans Wingate and Norris Stopko Behing him: Remy LeBeau, Daisuke Kanou, Brick Wahl (all got in on the strength of their playoffs) GAA: 2.00 (4th) – behind only Greg Clegane, CAL G, and Tuomas Tukio Shutouts: 88 (2nd) – behind only Greg Clegane The strength of Holik is his GAA and shutouts but these need to be supported by a strong save % otherwise are obviously inflated by team success (and Holik played in an era where 6/10 teams at least were pretty bad). But the margins for goalie stats are so thin (e.g. .922 save % for Holik vs .929 for Gegeny (the all-time leader). LeBeau in the meantime might be the worst modern goalie in the HOF (behind Holik in all stats) as he's part of the playoff club but actually not that stand-out in the playoffs (outside of S37). But then Holik's playoff stats are so far behind everyone else that he would probably take the “crown”.
  16. There is a bit of a debate going on in the BOG this season because all the HOF candidates have some question marks around them. The front-runners by position are probably Ay Ay Ron (defenceman), Keaton Louth (forward), and Jakab Holik (goalie). So I decided to do a bit of a brain dump... There have been 28 defencemen inducted into the Hall of Fame. Here's how Ay Ay Ron would rank among them in key stats if he was inducted and there were 29: Points: 572 (22nd) Behind him: Joey Kendrick, Adam Schultz, Tomas Jenskovic (all played 6 seasons), Conner Low (5-season freak of nature), Blake Beukeboom, David Night, Jake Wylde (potentially the worst 3 defencemen currently in the HOF) Hits: 1,877 (2nd) – only behind Jake Wylde Shots blocked: 781 (24th) Behind him: Adam Schultz, Conner Low, Joey Kendrick (see above), Matt Bailey (only defenceman for 4 seasons), and Black Velvet (played for 5 cup winning teams so didn't need to block shots as often) So it's a weird one. He would have won 3 Labatte Trophies had they existed during his peak (as I argued before) and although a 102-point career peak isn't anything special, it's par for the course for Labatte winners (anything over 110 points is an anomaly over now 66 seasons, there's been about 10). He is undeniably better than Beukeboom who never even won a Labatte, as well as Night and Schultz, and in reality also only had a 6-season career as a defenceman. So he's near the bottom but not the worst.
  17. Oh yeah looks like playoffs and regular season wins are the wrong way around.
  18. Ok guess I can work with a split against Calgary. Third line doing work.
