After being drafted 18th overall by the CALGARY WRANGLERS in the S46 draft Kol Mikaelson had done nothing but fail to meet expectations. Showing us all that he lacks determination, drive, and ultimately the skill to be a a successful hockey player in the VHL. He's been called out by his coaches, managers and even teammates but nothing worked, that is until the Legion came a knocking. The Legion who are the reining cup champions decided to take a risk on Mikaelson. even going as far as giving Mikaelson second line duties behind the teams leader, Max Molholt. The Legion gave away a 4th and 7th round pick for Kol, a deal that shocked the VHL hockey world. Yes it's true that 4th and 7th round picks may not guarantee a good talent but most would believe that using those picks instead of trading them for a unknown would be the better choice. During his time in the VHLM, Mikealson showed a lot of promise and at times would takeover games and put the crowd on the edge of their seats. Maybe Max Molholt is hoping to drag that side of Kol Mikaelson out of him. Many may ask why would Toronto be any different ten Calgary? Who knows but the trade has already shown some change in the Canadian born hockey player. Kol has been spotted attending practice with the Legion, something he did not do in Calgary.

Don Cherry: This kid was fun to watch in the VHLM but like many of know, has failed to do anything in the VHL. A lot of people don't expect much from him and I'll be honest here, I don't believe the kid has what it takes to be in the VHL. He just hasn't shown us anything to say otherwise. Tat being said, he has been practicing with his new team, the Toronto Legion. I'm not sure how Max did it but he did and hopefully the kid can help the Legion repeat. I'm not buying into anything yet when it comes to the kid because he still has a lot of work to do. Once I see him work hard off and on the ice and i shows in productions then I will believe. I just don't think someone can change so quickly like that and all of a sudden have all the drive and determination.

Those were Don Cherry's thoughts on Kol Mikaelson making something of himself in Toronto. Cherry has been following the VHL for a very long time and is usually right on the dot when it comes to hockey. When asked about the comments from Cherry, Mikaelson had this to say:

"Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I don't blame him or hate him for the comments he made because I have done nothing to prove him wrong. Right now I'm just focused on getting better and being a part of such a great team here in Toronto. I am actually encouraging more of these people to comment and doubt me because I want to use all of it as fuel. I want to use it all to push myself to new heights. I have not started off my career the way I wanted to. I let myself crash and burn and I haven't been able to get back up. I think I'm working my way back on my feet and making strides to improve. Like I said before I'm happy I landed here in Toronto. The environment here is great, it demands the best and nothing less. I've been under performing for too long now and I think it's time that I show everyone what Kol Mikaelson is capable of. It's the least I can do for this city, Molholt and the organization."

Kol Mikaelson has a lot to prove and the Toronto hopeful will be supporting their new payer throughout his journey here. Can Mikaelson turn his career around? Can he be a impact player for the Legion? We will have to wait and see 1 or 2 seasons down the road to fully answer those questions.

Leonidas got a reaction from Molholt in Can Kol Mikaelson turn his career around in Toronto?
The answer is yes! Yes he can! Yes he will!
Kol Mikaelson generated a lot of buzz when he first entered the VHLM but failed to reach expectations before and after being drafted. He's been bounced around form team to team, failing to find somewhere where he can fit in, somewhere where he can call home. Many still wonder what went wrong with Mikaelson. What could have stopped him from reaching his full potential. Even though there was nothing but question marks surrounding the young Canadian, Toronto's general Manager, Molholt decided to make a deal with Calgary for his services.

    To Toronto:
    Kol Mikaelson

    To Calgary:
    S51 TOR 4th*
    S51 TOR 7th

"I'm just looking for a place to belong right now. I know I haven't played well so far in my career but I'm hoping that i can turn it all around here in Toronto. These guys are last years champions and are clearly the best team in he league right now so I know I got a lot of work to do here. I honestly think that this is the right environment for me to be in, for me to better myself." - Kol Mikaelson.
