  1. 1. I like helping the GM's, the members and the league grow/enjoy the VHLM. We have a good group as you know, so it's also nice to have that close group to bug and joke with. When I first took the position, I was concerned if I was ready for it. I didn't want to fail, look like a dumbass or be inconsistent, but I think we've done pretty solid. 2. Yes. Lots are dead. 4 to go. About to kill another one soon. Then, I'm kinda unsure on the final 3. My gut and brain are screaming Philly because they may have the edge on paper for best team. I also like @BladeMaiden and don't mind their LR at all. Always good people in there and active! HOWEVER, my heart is saying make it somewhat more "fair". I am the commissioner and something I preach is that the VHLM isn't JUST about winning. It's about retention, growing new members and blah blah. HOWEVER, I still am a player and being a commissioner should really have zero influence on this decision. Time will tell, but I may leave it up to the league to decide. 3. I want him to be dominant. Strong on the puck, tallying up huge goals. I want him to be the best goal scoring d-man there ever was- so here's to hoping. My forwards always turn out to be good. Smirnov was seemingly great in his first year but levelled out afterwards. It seems I have an easier and more successful time with D-men (Federov and Kovalchuk). Kovalchuk is licking up the awards with half a career ahead of him. I think Stark is only going to be better.
  2. This is actually an amazing point... This makes my decision hard.. though, I may allow the VHL to vote between the final 3 in the FINALE OF GAME OF AMBROSE.... DUN DUN.
  3. Just wanna do my part in helping out GM’s in sticky situations the best I can without crippling the organization or taking advantage of said situation. Two-way street of respect! Best of luck this year, man @Spade18
  4. Yeah. Chico etc can’t be signed !
  5. Elite signing. Well done!
  6. Hell yeah @Beketov
  7. That is easily one of the best thing I've seen on this site ever. I think another team/GM gonna die in within 15 minutes.
  8. DEAD: 1. Minnesota - *Ate a poisonous Egg McMuffin from a Mcdonalds in King's Landing* 2. Houston - *Was taking a dump and got shot by his kid* 3. Mexico City - *Was an attendee at the purple wedding, for Robb Stark, Ambrose Stark's father and died taking an arrow up the ass* 4. Halifax - *Died being a loyal assistant, to the assistants assistant of a squire for the House of @Beaviss* 5. Yukon - *dies a boring death, not having fun - life sux* 6. San Diego - *swimming in the water by Kings Landing and stabbed by a fish with a sword as a nose* 7. Las Vegas - *Thrown in jail for gambling - died from eating some weird plant in the cell that gave him something like diaper rash all over his body* 8. 9. 10. Iron Throne Sitter Person: 1. @VHLM GM
  9. Ambrose Stark: Biography I feel as though you shouldn't read this if you've never seen the show and want to. ZERO Spoilers from S6-8 basically. Maybe a tad earlier idk. 1,068 words. That was one of the toughest ones I've ever written. Thank god that's over with. +10 Ambrose Stark.
  10. @VHLM GM Well, I wouldn't be the VHLM Commissioner TRULY if I didn't fuck with my GM's when recreating in any form. For the most part and 99.99% of the time, they're really good. They knew for a short while that I was creating again and of course, as the highly valuable and desired D-MAN. It was only a matter of time before I created a Game of Thrones influenced character and FINALLY the day has come. So, for my selection.. we're going to be doing things a little differently but of course, still my way. I have my options in mind and those who I am uninterested in, we'll cast away as quickly as possible (just another main character tragedy). My final remark to you, GMs, is this.. Which one of you will win the Game of Ambrose? @Beketov Made budget cuts - so this is what we get.
  11. This, fyi, is my 8th round selection of S66's draft. @Walter Fizz Keep at er, dude. Biggest steal of the draft right now
  12. Ambrose Stark: Rookie Profile Name: Ambrose Stark Position: D Height: 6'2" Weight: 201 lbs Hometown: Winterfell, Westorts It was only a matter of time before I created a Game Of Thrones influenced character and officially, Winter is Here. For Ambrose Stark, growing up in Westoros and being part of House Stark played a huge role in his developmental games, as well as how he mentally prepares and plays the game of hockey. Between the sword/battle practice and playing on the ice, it's safe to say that he's one tough mother fucker and his hand eye coordination is like no other. It's beyond incredible. Unfortunately, it doesn't come into play an incredible amount on ice because Ambrose Stark chose to hold the blue line. However, because of his amazing family genes and a strong head on his shoulders (Is that an Ned joke??), his defensive play, laser beam of a shot and physicality are all something that a lot of younger d-men are missing. Ambrose Stark suited up for the Winterfell Direwolves and played on a team that was always well respected and tough to beat. Taken 3rd overall in the WHL (Westoros Hockey League) during the leagues 111th season draft, he never seemed to disappoint and while being taken at 3rd overall is an incredible accomplishment and not much of a gap between 1st, he was often described as being a steal by most. It wasn't long before he started to prove his abilities and skills on the ice and because of his families reputation off the ice, his odds at development boosts were through the roof. Scouting Report: Pros Defensive side of things: He's smart. He's smart with the puck, he's smart without the puck and he's just simply smart. His defensive game is at a whole other level compared to any other d-man in the league and he's an absolute complete package. His stick checking tends to be smart and gets the job done and when he lays a hit or attempts to, he rarely misses and always connects with a big thud. Powerful shot - As we said, he's the complete package. The level and skill you see at one end of the ice, you get at the other end of the ice. His accuracy is really good but the thing that stands out the most is his blistering slap shot. If a goalies not careful and paying attention, there's a good chance he takes their head off with the equipment they use in Westoros/Winterfell. Loyal - I don't think there's many houses more loyal than the Starks. You could possibly argue that this isn't true - but I'd tell you to prove it. There are other loyal houses, but nothing that competes with the Starks and Ambrose completely displays this in so many great ways. He's knowledgable for his age and an amazing presence inside and outside the locker rooms. Negatives Face-offs - When you have a guy with very few negatives to his game, you really have to go hunting and start pulling stuff out of your ass. He's a dman - what a wonderful surprise that his face-off abilities lack and are extremely low. Is this a ball buster for most teams? lol no. Skating - At the moment, his skating ability isn't anything to cheer about, but you can expect him to be working on this almost immediately. Winter fell is a cold place and Winter is always Coming, but when it's here - they play puck hard. So, it really just depends how much Winter you get, you know? Leadership - He's currently 4th in line to become "Lord of Winterfell" so his leadership skills aren't exactly there. They don't really need to be, you know? With XXXXXXXXX (Spoiler, can't ruin S8, dawg) leading the way, he can take a back seat, make some simple decisions but never be the full guy in charge at the moment. Win/Win if you ask me.
  13. 1. Thoughts on where you were drafted rank wise? 2. Thoughts on the team you went to? 3. Were there lots of teams to contact you? 4. What other teams were you interested in? 5. Thoughts on this off-season and how crazy busy GM's were trade and transaction wise? @TheLastOlympian07 +1 Me.

  16. Another career that was seemingly great-ish and fun cut too short all thanks to GMing. Excited for the next one (GM Player) @Commissioner
  17. Best of luck!
  18. I agree that Malmo is currently overrated.
  19. WJC Commissioner - Hiring TWO! It's that wonderful time of the season where we get to experience our newest members and players play it out for their home countries in the S66 World Junior Championships. This has been a tournament that's gone now for a few seasons and since its revival, I feel like it's had some good success and been a lot of fun. It gives members the opportunity to represent their birth nations, complete in an international tournament prior to the WC, get experience in jobs or further cement your legacy and of course, kick some ass chasing that oh so sweet gold! World Junior Commissioners Duties: Update the Eligibility List and make sure everyone is listed in the good team, as the portal tends to make everyone Canadian. Help in the hiring process of the 5 World Junior Championship General Managers. Promote the World Junior Championship around the board, on the Discord or wherever you may want. Decide the recipients of the tournament awards. Update various All-Time Lists with this season's statistics, histories etc. The job pays 3 capped TPE per week for the duration of the tournament and will give you a light, fun, short-term management experience. The newly hired WJC Commissioner won't be able to apply for a WJC GM job. Don't apply here if you plan on being a GM, as we'll start the hiring process after the Commish is named. If this is something that could interest you, apply by posting in this thread.
  20. Thanks My graphic abilities lack and effort was 4.9/10 (but intentions and passion were 10/10). I'm also a good con artist but thats okay.
