It’s that time in the season again when the world junior championship is set to open. As always Canada is the heavy favorite, but as the VHL sees more interest in its league the road to winning the world junior championship becomes tougher every season. Familiar with the rough competition is two-time USA representative Curtis Gary.
“Last year was a bit rough, we had a very inexperienced team with not a lot of fire power to our scoring”, Gary said. “I think when we could’ve tried to save ourselves in the tournament and try some new line combos our previous GM fell down on the job. But that was last year, now we have a new GM and I’ve personally got more experience under my belt.”
Whether or not Curtis Gary and team USA can make some noise in this seasons tournament will be determined by no one but themselves. “We’re the ones who decide if we’re gonna show up in the game or not, no one else can decide our fate except ourselves”, Gary said.
