  1. I’m so bored right now. Literally got nothing to do and I have to wait a couple more days until I get to move forward with my life. This draft is far away and I’m not sure how that will go. I was lucky enough to talk to a VHLM gm last week and get some information on potential destinations, but besides that I haven’t been doing much. The Showcase tournament was fun but sadly we lost in the semis, in a tough overtime match. I put up some nice stats, but I wish my plus/minus was higher. I showed off what my future could look like, getting both goals and assists and a lot of hits. Coming to America as a physical guy, I didn’t show a lot of that, so I want scouts to know that I’m not afraid to hit a player. On April 10th I will find out what VHLM team I’m joining, and from then on out, it becomes a race to the top of the hockey world. Can’t wait to run in it.
  2. 1. My guy barely did anything, but I had a very small amount flashes to the future. 2. I wish we won the title, but making it to the finals is very impressive. 3. To improve on my puck handling and strength. 4. The VHLM. Gotta show the scouts what I can do before the draft. 5. I would have to say swimming. 6. I would say River as he was my gm when I finally had a player make the VHL.
  3. Pain. Hockey is pain. Things were going well for the Houston Bulls, and then we choked.we had the Wild right where we wanted them, only needed to win a game, but let them come back from a 3-1 deficit. It hurts, but it’s in the past now. We couldn’t even have a game 7 that was decently close given how started off the series. This off-season has been a nice break so far and not having to put my body through the rigorous schedule of training and games has allowed me to heal a little bit. I am no longer a Houston Bull, so I’m getting ready for the VHLM draft. I don’t have any preferred spots besides Houston obviously and Philadelphia, but I would be happy to play for any team. My time in the minors is quickly approaching its end, so I’ve been talking to my inner circle a lot more lately, and going over plans on how to support my family. Whatever VHL team drafts will become the home of my parents, but they want to make sure that I don’t end up playing in the VHLE with their support. All we can do now is wait and continue improving my skills.
  4. Early Life How did Carson Hound come to be in the VHLM? Well it’s a decently long story with some bumps along the way. Carson was born 16 years ago to an American playing in the National League and a Swiss native. As Carson started to age his father’s career winded down and he switched his focus to becoming more of a family man. Carson started to skate at the age of 4 and joined his local youth team. Being the son of a professional gave him advantages over his competition, and his size advantages allowed him to have his way with his opponents. Rising Profile By the time he was 13 he was already playing for the SC Bern U-16 team and was able to score 10 goals, dish out 30 assists, and get 55 hits in 30 games. After this season Carson started to receive interest from many National League teams as well as CHL fans touting him for the future. The ultimate goal was Carson to make the VHL, but since his family didn’t know what path he should’ve taken at that point, they decided to stay in Switzerland for another year and garner more interests from scouts. Moving up to the U-17 squad, the 14 year old Carson was having trouble adjusting. The top prospects in Switzerland were in the same league as him and the added physicality was something Carson couldn’t play against. The first half of the season wasn’t anything groundbreaking and the team considered dropping him down to U-16 before he hit a growth spurt and shot up to 6’4. He wasn’t the heaviest at 190 pounds, but the added size helped Carson take more hits and gain some of his confidence back. He finished the season with 7 goals and 25 assists, plus 45 hits, and while the season wasn’t as good as his debut season, he grew another 2 inches and gained 15 pounds during his offseason. Senior Debut Carson’s dad decided that Carson would head to Canada once he turned 16 to play in the CHL, but before they could make the move they heard from a representative of Frölunda HC. They wanted Carson to come play for their U-20 squad, and knowing the exposure this would bring him, they decided to move to Sweden and take the offer. Carson played exceptionally well for someone his age, and late in the season was even able to appear in 5 games for the senior squad, making his professional debut at the age of 16. He got an assist in the last game of the season to score his first pro points and then was a reserve for the team's failed playoff run. After the season ended he hired an agent as he was no longer eligible for the CHL, and the Houston Bulls signed him to a contract. He still played the first half of the season for Frölunda before suiting up for Houston, and had a much better time on the senior side, scoring 2 goals and 10 assists in 15 games. We are now at the end of Carson’s first season, with his Bulls in the season’s Founder’s Cup finals against the Wild. The VHLM draft is looking after the conclusion of this series, so once this series ends, he will get drafted for the first time and get to the main part of his VHL career.
  5. This is new. In my short 16 years of life I’ve never been blessed enough to make the finals in any hockey competition. I spent my whole career back in Switzerland playing for the U-17 squad of my local team, and by the time I had enough skill to lead us to the finals I left for America. Still, Switzerland has nothing on this. I got lucky to get on a roster this good, and now all that stands between us and a title is Saskatoon. This team has way too much talent not to win it all and I think we’ll be ending the season raising the Founder’s Cup. These are the last games for a lot of guys on the team and we want to go off on a bang and etch our names into VHLM history forever. So far the series is tied at 1-1, with two very close games, but with all the talent and depth we have, I’m fully expecting us to become champs. I’ll check in next week, and by then Ik hopefully a champion.
  6. 1. I feel great about any team we play. 2. I would’ve guessed Philly but Saskatoon won. 3. I’m huge on March Madness. My champion are the Arizona Wildcats. 4. I feel lucky to be alive I guess. 5. Maul em Bulls, Maul em Bulls. 6. I heard about it from the SBA.
  7. My timing in joining this league was impeccable. Growing up I watched the VHL and VHLM and got to see many teams rise to the top and enjoy huge successes. I especially paid more attention to the VHLM because of my aspirations to play in the league one day and my two favorite teams ended up being the Houston Bulls and the Philadelphia Reapers. I became a Philadelphia fan because of the way the “City of Brotherly Love” was represented back in my home land and then joined an agency that had two former Reapers, and the Bulls after seeing their success during their history. So when I made the announcement that I was heading to the VHLM I knew that it would be hard to turn any of those two teams down. The only thing I didn’t expect was for the first team to offer me being the Bulls, in the middle of one of their best seasons. As soon as I saw the offer I knew it was over for other teams and I signed the contract. Some may say I just decided to sign with whatever team offered me first, but that couldn’t be further the truth, when a team like the Houston Bulls offers you you pick them. The team has been predicted to win the Founders’s Cup, and getting to spend my first year in the league here is great. I’m not expecting to come back here next year, but I want to savor as much as I can and learn from this high level of competition. As for my game, I have changed a lot during my time here in the United States. In Switzerland I could focus more on the physical part of the game and my relative skill advantages compared to the rest made me not really worry about improving my offensive skills, but it’s so much harder now. If I had to describe myself coming into the VHLM I would say I was a total goon, but now I would consider myself to be more of a two way defenseman who can get some points for his team. I could still improve as a passer which is probably my next major focus. Winning has been fun and getting to experience competition against the best of the best will do leaps and bounds for my development. My parents have been happy with me making it this far, and while they wish I got more playing time, they still send the Bulls front office letters expressing gratitude every week. Anyways, the season is almost over and now I have to look forward in the future. This off-season is going to be huge. I play in the Junior Showcase Tournament a little when I had the time and even scored my first ever goal, and I got to prepare for the World Juniors coming up. I would be very happy to represent Team Europe and I have to show the management what I can do for them. I’m going to end this piece by saying the recent changes in the VHL will be interesting to see play out and it’ll be interesting to join the league during a time of great change. I’m going to interact with my future coaches a lot and make sure I’m able to adjust as best I can. Thanks for reading, and peace out.
  8. 1. Just let me out there and get some hits. 2. I’m too young to drink, I’m not aware of what beers I should pick. 3. To the city of whatever team we beat. 4. Not really. Cero miedo 5. Nope, I enjoy being a player only. 6. Gotta change it probably, was not expecting this change at all.
  9. These playoffs have been fun so far. Yeah I don’t play but the team has been successful. We have looked extremely good and wins have been coming in. We made it past the first rounds and won the first game in our current round, and I think we’ll keep on winning the more we play. We could honestly win the title if we keep on playing the way we do. I’m aware of the fact that I’m leaving the team next year unless they draft me, so I’m just trying to enjoy these times as much as I can and develop as much as possible. I’m not going to be a high draft pick which I know and I’m fine with, but I still want teams to look at me and be impressed. I can help a team out somewhere and all I need is for someone to give me a chance. Anyways, I gotta head to bed early, these semis aren’t gonna be any joke.
  10. Hockey is not easy. Growing up I always knew that, but I guess I started to underestimate it. After a while, it became obvious I was the best player in my area and didn't have much trouble with my competition. I didn’t have to worry about who we were playing and whether or not I would be on the ice a lot. Well the VHLM is totally different. I don’t receive much time on the ice, and when I’m on it most of the time I don’t do anything. Except for one glorious game where I had two assists, I have not had any points. I’ve gotten a small number of hits which is disappointing since that is what I built my reputation on, and I haven’t come close to fighting any of the well mannered players in this league. People constantly call me and ask me if I miss my homeland, and while I easily could say I do, I just know I have to improve my skills and get to a point where I am a star. I know if I keep on working hard I’ll get there, so as of right now I’m ust focusing on improving and the upcoming playoffs.
  11. 1. Nice pieces to add depth and give the main guys rest. 2. Yup. Having dudes who can come in and keep us playing at a high level is great. 3. Kobe or Ricer who was my last gm. 4. I would, but I would have to do more research on the league first. 5. Gatorade. They’re the iconic sports drink brand and getting free items from them would be nice. 6. Fire, I like to hit dudes and I’m not afraid to fight someone.
  12. Player Information Username: Ty343 Player Name: Carson Hound Recruited From: Returning Age: 16 Position: D Height: 78 in. Weight: 230 lbs. Birthplace: Switzerland Player Page @VHLM GM
  13. Carson Hound is here. He will be looking for a VHLM team to join after he received his visa and traveled to North America. After starting his career as a left winger, Carson made the move to the back two and hasn’t looked back since. Being one of the top rated players in Switzerland, he was getting advice from numerous sources, and wanting to play in the top hockey league in the world, decided to join its minor league. I don’t know much about the VHLM so I don’t have any team preferences and will suit up for anyone. My agency has produced many players in the past, but only one played in the VHL and ended up retiring early, so I hope to play a full career and become a well known player. To give a short description of my playing style, I am a physical force who became known for his ferocity on the ice. Offensively I am raw, but I have been working on my passing and my slap shot has always been top tier. I’m excited to show you guys my game, get ready.
  14. It’s been some time. After I retired from the SBA I decided that I would retire my VHL player as well and take a break from sim leagues. I did some impressive earning and enjoyed the league my whole time, and being back in the SBA for what is now my second season, I am announcing that I am ready to recreate in the VHL. I am not sure what position or build I going for, but all I know as of right now is that I will be creating at next month's trade deadline and looking to be a top earning prospect. I am unaware of anybody else who will be creating during that draft class but know that there will be a recreate better than so I’m not expecting to be the best prospect around. Even when I was maxing, I wasn’t the most discord or forum active as I preferred to stick to SBA functions and then claim welfare plus my VHL.com article, so I want to warn all my future coaches not to expect a lot of talking from me. I’m excited to see what happens and hope I fall in love with the league more than I already am.
  15. A new season is coming. We faced heartbreak last season. Going up 3-1, the team thought we had, the fans thought we had it, and I did. Our hopes were shattered once we lost. But all that did was motivate us. Now we have a reason to play as hard as possible. We know from experience how easy it is lose a comfortable lead. We won't get complacent, we won't be happy with a few wins, we only want the best. Who knows what would've have happened if we beat Seattle. But that doesn't even matter now because we lost to them, even though there was no way we should've lost that series. I'm ready to work this offseason. Ready to work in ways I never have. Calgary is going to bounce back big time. We are goin to put the league on notice. I for one can't wait, and the league won't know what hit it. As for myself, I'm starting to ease into my prime. It's my time to make a statement. My skills have gotten to a good point, and now all there is to do is show out.
  16. 1. Improving as much as possible. 2. Happy for them, and good to see a team not named Seattle win. 3. Yes, watching Italy win was one of the happiest days of my summer. 4. Sending him a quad. 5. Positional need. 6. 42-22-8, playoff team once more.
  17. 1. I am shambles. Losing 3-1 is absolutely terrible and I can't believe we couldn't close out. 2. Play the idol in their prime. 3. The team is coming great, can't wait to see what we do. 4. Getting some nice rookies for the future would be cool. 5. Defense, scoring, and probably some strength or puck handling. 6. Short and fast.
  18. Playoff time. At the beginning of the year I said we would make it here. Now we've finally done it. All that there is left for us to do now is execute. We are playing the defending champs first round which will be a challenge, but anything is possible this time of year. Luke, Andrew, and Nathan should give us good scoring, guys like Phil, Nils, Eso, myself, etc. provide even more support. I trust our defense pairs and I know they'll be ready for Seattle. A lot of us are getting our first playoff experience which is great for the team and I hope that we keep on making it this far in the future. As we continue to grow and develop, we will start to make a name for ourselves and put the whole league on watch. For now we just have to settle with being underdogs and give this series our best shot. No matter what happens, this won't be easy for Seattle. They better be ready for some real hockey.
  19. 1. Seattle because we have to face them in the first round. 2. Yea I didn't think so, it's hard to win 11 in a row. 3. Probably Phil, he's a very interesting character. 4. Well I did get more points, but less goals was concerning to me. 5. I put my money on Luke, because he has getting points for years now. 6. He hasn't tasted alcohol yet.
  20. The race ain't easy. Before this season started I declared that the Wranglers would make the playoffs. We still are, but as of right now we are stuck in a race for a wildcard spot. I have total faith that we will pull it out in the end and enjoy a nice playoff run, but I would be lying if I said it would be this hard. Nothing in life comes easy and this is good for building character. The Calgary locker room is still staying upbeat and the team is doing great. As of right now, I don't really know what I need to work on the most. I'm tempted to improve on my scoring, but my defense and position can improve, and then you have to bring into consideration strength. In the minors I was known as someone who was a lot stronger than he looked, and while I still have good strength, I could improve on it for sure. I'll consult with the coaching staff to make the best choice I can.
  21. 1. Getting our offense on track and supporting whoever is in goal. 2. Why does our gm quad so much 3. Bauer and CCM. 4. The hope of getting points 5. I will keep that private 6. Get their slapshot top notch and how to deke like a superstar.
