  1. Hockey has been there my whole life. It’s gotten me through both high and lows. It’s not an easy sport, and I work day and night to make sure I’m the best player I can be. Something that I really want in this league is recognition. I want people to look at me and be able to say that I’m someone they would love to have play for them. When awards are being voted on, I want to be a contender in the future. After being the 28th pick in my draft class, I have continued to work, and I am now one of the top players from my class. I always believed in myself, and I’ve had a great management team to help me develop into the player I am today. So today I am saying thank you to Calgary, thanks for the motivation, the laughs, helping me find out areas I needed to work on, and boosting spirits when the team was down. I am looking forward to seeing what this season brings us and continuing to make the Wrangler fans proud.
  2. 1. Hitting the game winning shootout goal a couple of games ago. 2. Just going to claim from the SBA. 3. Our team finally gaining the experience to make noise in the playoffs. 4. Wanted to be a high goal scorer who had some assists. 5. Focused more on assists and less on goals. 6. The oldest 16 year old in the Hall of Fame.
  3. I don't what to think about this season. I have become a better player yes, but have I really shown that? Not really, at least in my own opinion. Part of this is because I hold myself to very high standards and not seeing the improvement that I wanted was disappointing, but all we can do is keep on working and never giving up. The team has had more success which is fun, and I can't wait to get deeper and deeper into the season. The team composition is great, and all the players on this team are very entertaining. RIcer has done a great job with this organization, and I can't wait to see what we do in the future. Who knows how many titles we can win during my time here. Luke and Nathan have been great, Andrew is a great addition, and Phil can do nothing wrong. As we inch closer and closer to the playoffs, things will get more serious, and the real fun will begin.
  4. 1. Luke, easy. 2. 8 am PST, a nice sim to wake up to. 3. Should be quiet. 4. The lr is very fun. 5. Sit next to Phil, he's an interesting character. 6. Barcelona Boxers.
  5. 1. Ricer13, he is a great gm. You come in at a close second though. 2. Through the SBA. 3. Don't really have one, but I guess I'll say the VSN mock draft. 4. My lr is great and I want my player to be well known one day. 5. I try to, but small things like missing trivia mess that up at times. 6. Fried chicken, it's a classic that fills you up and tastes great as well.
  6. A young season has just started. We have done decent, but I think that we can do even better. Luke is a complete beast, Nathan and Eso are developing really well, Asky is holding down the fort in goal, and Su is a great addition. I know that I can play better than what I have shown the world this year and I will keep on working. I'm in a weird spot as I have experience now, but I'm still so young so I still have a long way to go. My youth is why I'm lucky to be in a locker room with such great guys who I can pick their brains and learn how they ended up so good. The addition of the league was a welcome sight and I look forward to seeing how it goes. Maybe in future I'll be able to know a player who goes through the VHLE. The playoffs should be coming back to Calgary, and I will do everything in my power to get us there.
  7. 1. Playmaking has been great. 2. I need to put the puck in the net more. 3. It's great that we have enough players to allow this change to happen. 4. I wish I could answer this 5. Puck handling, it doesn't matter how well you skate if you can't handle the puck. 6. I feel like we should have more wins.
  8. Why do we play. As a child I saw both of my brothers playing all the time, and I took after them. But why did I. Did I want to be like them? Not really. I hated being compared to my brothers as a child. But for some reason, I still ended up playing hockey. It doesn't make any sense. However when I played the game myself, I fell in love with it and never wanted to stop playing. After seeing my two older brothers fail to advance to the VHL from the VHLM, I knew that I would be the first in my family to play in the VHL. After completing my rookie season and even being top 10 in rookie points, I am happy to have achieved my goal, but I know that I can't stop now, and I have to keep on improving. This next season is going to be a breakout season for Calgary, and I'm I'll be a major part of that. All we can do now is wait and see what happens.
  9. 1. Toughest Skater. 2. Puck handling all the way. 3. The Kevin Brooks Trophy. 4. Red all the way. 5. Our youth and forward group. 6. Defence could be better.
  10. Well now, it's time to go hard. The season is finally over, congrats to Seattle, winning in 5 must feel really good, and Calgary will be hoping to being in the finals soon. This offseason is going to be big for me as I have finished my first season and I now have to improve on what I already did. I need to get more hits, block more shots, get more assists, score more goals, you get the idea. Now that I have a taste of VHL hockey, I want more and more and this hunger will be very hard to satisfy. I'm going to need to win, going to need to play, going to need to prove how good of a player I am and can be. The team is young and improving, and with the momentum from last year, we can keep on reaching new heights. We have a good number of prospects moving up, but the most exciting part is the fact that we have the 1st and 6th picks in the draft which will give us another player who can make an impact in the VHL already. That's all I have for now, see y'all on the ice next season.
  11. 1. Making the playoffs easy. 2. Getting Tallinder would be great 3. We would make tv shows, easy. 4. He plays a little basketball, but mostly training. 5. What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me no more. 6. More hits and blocked shots.
  12. This offseason is so long. Last season I had the excitement of making the VHL push me, and all I feel right now is disappointment in missing the playoffs. I know that we'll be able to make the playoffs next year very easily, so right now all I am doing is waiting to be in that position. I recently arrived in Philadelphia for my offseason vacation with family, and recently all my brothers have wanted to do is ask me how VHL life is. They've been really helpful in pointing out what I need to work on and if I had any tendencies that needed to be fixed. One thing they told me to really focus on was handling the puck because I gave the puck up too much last year, especially in the attacking zone. I also want to improve on my skating and strength. It's been nice to see my parents after being away for so long. They did not grow up around hockey so while this is new for them, they are still extremely supportive and I can't thank them enough for all that they have done for me.
  13. 1. Going to Philadelphia to stay with family and train. 2. Give us Talinder, Basstard, or Markinson 3. Vets need to pay more, us youngblood getting paid less than y'all. 4. In Philly, gonna help out some VHLM folk. 5. Warsaw. 6. New blood is always great.

    Pain

Pain. That is what players on the Calgary Wranglers as well as the fans were feeling after the Wranglers missed the VHL playoffs by a slim margin. Even though missing the playoffs hurts, the future is looking very bright. This was supposed to be a bad year for Calgary, but here they are, competing for a playoff spot. If they could do that with the team they had now, imagine what they can do next year and after that. Mikey Harris himself exceeded the expectations he set for himself and he will be looking to set them higher for himself next year. He finished 10th in rookie points with 45, and he knows that he can do even better next season. He will be heading back home to Philadelphia this offseason to train with his brothers as well as a couple VHLM guys. Mikey is expecting to make the playoffs next year so there will be a focus on mental training as well, and he will be looking at a lot of film from these upcoming playoffs to prepare himself.
  15. Being a rookie in any professional sports league is not easy. Not easy at all. After playing amateur and minor for my whole life until now, I have played in a good number of VHL games. The minors were so much easier than the VHL, and I don't know how dudes like Red Lite were able to adjust so quickly. Everyone is bigger than me, stronger than me, and has more experience. I wish at least one of my brothers made it past the VHLM because I would've been more prepared for the VHL if I could ask my brother questions, but I have to work with what I got. I love the VHL facilities and all that and they make it easy for me to spend an unholy amount of time working on my game. I want to be a great player in this league, and of course I need countless hours on the rink refining my skills and Calgary has really given us a good training staff. I started off the season on the second line which surprised me a lot, then I started to move back forth between the second and third lines, and after out most recent trade, I managed to get on the first line for the first time in my VHL and VHLM career. After I left the NTDP I did not really get as much first line experience as I would have liked, so playing first line for the Wranglers is amazing, even if I don't get a crazy amount of ice time. I have been slightly streaky this season as there are times were I'll go two or three games in a row with points, and then the next 3 I'll get like one only. It's frustrating, but we are working to improve this and make me have as few low performance games as possible. The team has gelled really well together and see us making the playoffs in no time. The last thing I would like to talk about is how the locker room presence is much different in the VHL. In the the VHLM we are mostly full of young players, maybe some alumni and the coach, but in the VHL, everybody is older. You get to spend more time around veterans, stars, learn from champions and players from famous agencies, and it's extremely easy to get better by just being around them. The VHL takes some to get used, but it pays off in the end.
  16. 1. Getting to know my teammates and playing in the VHL for the first time ever. 2. Making the playoffs. 3. Not really, but Ravenskill looks cool. 4. We are good all around and our biggest weakness at goalie is much better now. 5. I wouldn't really do anything different, maybe add more passing and defense earlier. 6. Well I am Harris myself and I'll say my point scoring was a major part of why I was important.

    Push

I don’t know how long I’ll be up, but I’ll enjoy it for as long as I can. For the first time in my career, I made the first line. It happened after some recent trades which shook up the team a little and gave me the chance to get on another line. I don’t expect this to last long at all, but it’s fun to be able to call myself a first line player for at least one day. This season has been really good for me, surpassing my expectations, and I just hit 30 points on the season. A late season push to 45 would be nice, but we have to take things one game at a time. I split my points evenly between goals and assists which is nice and shows that I’m not only a goal scorer. We are behind two teams for a wildcard spot at the moment which is something the team would love to get, so we’ll we give it our all even with the tough schedule that we have to finish the season. That’s all I have for you today, good night.
  18. 1. Very exciting to see new faces in the locker room, especially guys as skilled as Rock and Guy, and Rock is a fun guy to be around. 2. I know that apples are assists only, but Apple King/Queen is too good to pass up on. 3. I was not known as a prodigy, but my family name did help me get recognition. 4. Well World Juniors because I played in it. 5. Chicken tenders, more meat, more crisp, 6. I love blackjack because of how simple it is.
  19. The trade deadline has passed, and thankfully I am still on the team. We had to trade someone else which is sad, but this business can be tough at times. The season has been a good learning experience for me and I hope to keep on learning and improving. The team is still very young and while we have the lowest point total in the VHL, we are not discouraged and we are playing every game as hard as we can. A lot of our losses have been tough, with overtime losses coming at us too much and some close games with our backup in at goalie. Goalie is a position that we really need to work on, because even though our starting backstop is great, once you get past him, there is nothing there. Hopefully we can find a good netminder in the draft and continue to build from there. The team is very exciting and as we keep on improving and getting better, the more wins we’ll string together and more excitement we can bring into the lives of our fans.
  20. 1. It's sad to see one of the first guys I met in the VHL go, and my message is that he'll be great whenever he is 2. The Best Future Defense League Wise. 3. World of Chel 4. He went to one of his brother's games and started practicing that same day. 5. 99 Scoring 90 Defense, I love scoring goals. 6. I wanted to be a guy scoring 30 or more goals while still getting high assists. So far it's been going fine, with 8 goals and 10 assists.
  21. I'm been improving lately which is nice. Getting more points in games, the team is playing better, and we are building chemistry. The team looks real good for the future and we believe that we can make the playoffs right now. Trade deadline has come and passed which means our roster is set in stone now, so we gotta work with the guys who are in the locker room as of right now. Something that has been surprising to me so far is the amount of assists I am getting. I am at 7 as of right now, which is one more than my 6 goals. I am very close to my 15 point goal, and now that I know that I am going to pass that easily, I need to make a new goal. So after I reach 15 points, my next goal will be 25 points on the season. In a game not that far from the present, I netted the game-tying goal in a game we eventually won which as of right has been the most important goal of my career. I look forward to getting even more important goals, but as of right now, let’s just focus on 15 points. Good night.
  22. 1. Maybe get some draft picks 2. Maybe my Sharks can find some depth 3. Press Conference/Trivia 4. Some good ole rap. 5. Overtime play 6. Yessir
  23. Well it's a good thing I didn't come into this season with crazy expectations. The learning curve is tough. The VHL is no joke. Everyone is faster than me, bigger than me, a number of them shoot harder that me, and they all hit harder than me. They experience and have learned a lot of things over their seasons playing, which as of right now, I still have not learned yet. All of these guys are so much better than VHLM guys though. You go in expecting everything to be a lot harder, but wow, these guys are good. Calgary is a fun team to be on and locker room is great. I wish I was more open and talked to my teammates more, but I'll be working on that as much as possible. Compared to the minors, I am very pleased with my plus minus, and I have showed off my ability to get it done in the passing and goal scoring game so far. Getting my first multi point game has been the best moment of my career so far, and I hope to get new moments that trump that memory. Peace out.
  24. 1. The team is showing off how dangerous we are, and the fact that we are so young tis the best part. 2. It has been mild, but my goal for 15 points looks well attainabe. 3. A small horse, and since Lil Sebastian is taken, we'll go with Wrangler. 4. Morgan Freeman 5. Nike all the way. 6. Patrick Marleau.
