  1. The Life of Kai Roberts Kai Roberts was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana to two very loving parents. Early on he started watching hockey. He would sit in front of the television and watch every game with his father. They made it a tradition to watch every game they could. Now there is no professional hockey team in Louisiana and none that are really in the area. The closest teams are either the Dallas Stars, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers. Kai wasn't sure which team he wanted to be a fan of growing up. His father is a Tampa Bay Lightning fan and he was actually thinking about rooting for them. Of course then the Dallas Stars also started seeming like a good team. He knew about the Lightning and all but the Stars were different to him. They weren't just a team that no one he knew liked, they were a team that seemed interesting. The logo and the colors are what really drew him in closer. He was a huge fan of green and of course that was the main color for the Stars. In his childhood years, (this being elementary or grade school), he decided that he was going to try and play sports. Now his school didn't have that many sports but hockey was sadly not one of them. The first sport he decided to try out for is football. Being from New Orleans his favorite football team was in in fact the Saints. While playing football he was used on both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball since the team couldn't field that many players. He was used as the teams running back at times, the teams receiver and he even played some tight end. His hands had been his biggest asset which allowed him all that diversity. On the defensive side of the ball he played corner back and safety. He didn't get interested in linebacker or the defensive line due to him not being that big. His knowledge of playing receiver really helped him out when playing corner and safety due to the routes some of them would run. When playing corner, he was basically a blanket on receivers and he rarely let anyone get passed him. He split time for running back and he was listed as the teams number three receiver as so he didn't get winded too often. He was the teams nickel corner so certain plays he wouldn't even be on the field. During middle school he continued playing football as he was pretty good at it and he wanted to continue doing what he loved doing. Although he actually tried his hand at basketball as well. He knew that it wasn't going to be an easy task. In middle school he actually was one of the taller kids in his grade. He was around six foot tall and he played as the teams small forward mainly and the teams shooting guard. His ability to get open and just be able to use his agility to his advantage was one of the things that helped him make the team. It seemed like he was all over the court all the time. When being guarded there wasn't that many players who actually could defend him. He couldn't really shoot that well but he was always able to find a way to get into the basket and would do quite a few layups. He even grew to six feet one inches by the time he was in eighth grade. By then he was learning how to dunk and actually started to use that to his advantage. When high school came around he was able to play hockey. The team was solid but it was nothing spectacular at all. He joined the team and his coach tried to test him out at many positions. He wasn't sure of where he played the best but they knew one thing for sure about Kai, he was no goaltender. He literally watched every shot sail passed him when shot towards him. His coach thought immediately of playing him at winger. He knew that his speed and agility would be great. They could use that to their advantage and then try to get him to be a play maker. He could be able to pass the puck around quite a bit while still being able to score some goals. When his junior year came around his coach plugged him in at center. He had been working on his face offs and it seems like he had actually become one of the better players his coach has seen in the circle in quite some years. He finished out his junior and senior years at center and he would then he would be all set to play some professional hockey. There was two choices laid out for him after he graduated high school. He could try to enter the NHL draft and wait and play in the minors system or he could jump straight to the VHL. Of course the VHL has a minor system and quite frankly it seems like he could get more noteariety from playing in the VHL. While the NHL had a lot more teams and a lot more talent, the VHL has had some of their big names too. They don't have all the teams the NHL does but some of the most known teams in VHL history seem to be ready for a rebuild. While the season hasn't played out for him to know which VHL team he could get drafted to, he was ready. He chose the VHL route and he was ready for the VHLM draft. He is considered a top five selection and he could be taken at any point in there. He knows other talents like Bobby Digital and Pietro Maximoff seem to be the big names out there. Those look like the top two prospects and Kai could end up either third or fourth overall. The Bern Royals and the Saskatoon Wild sit around in the third and fourth spots. Kai has entered the VHLM draft and is ready to be wowed.
  2. You got it bro beans

  4. Practice Makes You Better The playoffs were over before Kai even knew about it. He knew what had happened and how it happened. It's rather upsetting losing to a team that really doesn't have many players even show up to practice. The more frustrating part is Yukon was loaded with talent. Of course we all know that most of us showed up while others didn't. I have already expressed my hate for how terrible I played during the playoffs. There was no excuse for that but I should have stepped it up. I feel like I will end up falling behind in due time. Something has got to give. Alright enough of this rant. Kai Roberts is hoping to leave a lasing legacy and he really has to pick up his work during practice. He has been showing up and giving about 60% effort. While that is pretty good and he could become a solid player, that doesn't help him become one of the best. If he can start picking up the slack and actually putting more practice hours in, maybe he could turn out to be the player he wants to be. He talked to much over and over about wanting to imitate Davey Jones and his success. So far he has fallen short of the VHLm side of his career. Davey had a cup in his first VHLM season. Kai is sitting at home looking around like "What could I have done better?" Davey also managed to get his second VHLM cup in as many years. If Kai can make it up and help whichever team drafts him to get a cup, maybe it can help his career look better to start. Many people say the VHLM don't even matter when it comes to accomplishments and such. It does matter to Kai and it did matter to Davey. For Davey it set the tone that he was a winner and he was willing to do whatever he could to help the team win. Kai needs to be a team player when he gets drafted and he has to step his game up. His stats during his first season (technically like 30ish games) was beyond atrocious. If he can manage to do a 180 on his stats it may help his draft stock out. Of course GM's look for practice hours and commitment as well. We all know in order to have good stats you also have to put in hours on the ice. So therefor practice = better stats. The draft is coming around the corner and Kai looks like he will be in the first round. It isn't certain of what position overall he will go but he is thinking in the top three maybe. Bobby Digital might even be the first overall selection in the VHLM draft. Bobby was his teammate in Yukon and even he did better. Of course that is no knock to Bobby's game, but they both came into Yukon at the same time. They could end up on the same team again which would be pretty cool. Right now Kai is heading out to the ice and about to get some hours in.

  8. Highly doubt it
  9. Why mad? I said I would play for any team tbh but you won't be in the lotto.
  10. Problems For Days Kai Roberts feels partially responsible for the loss in game seven to the Ottawa Lynx. He really hasn't helped this team out the way he thought he was going to. He has been the biggest non-factor player in the VHLM since his arrival. I mean his abysmal stats in the regular season showed it. Many will say that he was on a stacked team with better teammates. His reason is that he simply just isn't that good of a player. He should have did more to make himself a better player but he failed himself. He also knows that he will no longer be with the Yukon Rush as he joined them via trade from a waiver claim. He will be entered into the S48 VHLM draft and he will then be added to a new team. Kai's new home will be hopefully better suited to him. He is looking forward to developing more as a player and hoping that he can just become better. He still looks at old game film on Davey Jones and really wants to emulate his game as much as possible. Right now he seems like he is a little bit behind in his development and he is content with that. He has been working on getting his biography out so far that way he can let the world know a little bit more about him. Also he has been trying to get together a scouting report on himself that way GM's who are going to be drafting will know what they will be getting. Of course they know his player agent, Da Trifecta due to past relations with other players. This time it seems like he has come off a bit strong to start off this players career. If he can mange to turn things around, he may end up drafted to a team. Right now it stands that DT's attitude is what has been hurting his players draft stock all along. All that I can say now is that DT needs to learn to keep his mouth shut if he wants this player to actually be on a team. Of course there will always be a team who will take him in like the second. He is hoping that he can land in the lotto somehow. Many things could be the determining factor as to whether he does or doesn't land there. Kai has all the talent in the world and could become one of the best that DT has ever represented. It all comes down to the agents relationships with the current GM's. If he can prove that he can handle the way that the GM's handle things and shut up, he may help out Kai. As it stands right now no one can exactly pinpoint what will happen to him. All we know is that he is still in the VHLM and will be getting drafted in the next couple weeks. If he can manage to go a full season in the VHLM without creating further problems, he may help himself out. Also it will depend on who is drafting in the lotto and if they seem sold on Kai and agent DT.
  11. Such a sad day for those heading to the VHL. Thanks to @Kendrick, @Higgins, @STZ, @Daniel for shouldering the team even though I wasn't on the team that long. Was great to play with you guys again and Daniel for the first time despite the problems I caused.
