Will any team be able to break the Lynx defense?
-
D - Basaraba Moose
Sorry for delay in my picks guys was out of town for my bday this weekend.

Ottawa defense is killing it so far this season! Seems like opponents can't get shots through.

1. What do you think about getting your careers started with the Lynx?
Super excited to be starting with the Lynx. I feel we have a really strong team going to this year and I have confidence we will be a forced to be reckoned with.
Quote2. Any preliminary opinions on which teams at the VHL level you might eventually want to play for? Any you'd rather avoid? If you don't know, that's fine
I don't have a preference. I'm not looking to rush into the VHL I want to take my time here in the VHLM and really perfect my game so I can make a bigger impact in the big leagues.
Quote3. How are you looking to build your player? Stylistically, and/or players you're modeling after?
Looking to build a two-way puck moving defenseman. Kinda focusing on the playstyle of Victor Hedman on how I am training myself.

1. What do you see as the biggest strength in your game?
Probably my ability to back check successfully and the passing game after. Once you get that puck, that;'s great, but you gotta follow up and get some chances yourself to be successful.
Quote2. What's one area of your game that needs a bit of work?
My stick handling is probably the weakest part of my game at the moment.
Quote3. What part of the VHL experience are you most excited for?
Well last week I would have said the draft but that's behind us so now its gotta be my first game I just can't wait to get out there.
Quote4. How welcoming have folks in the VHL been to you?
Extremely welcoming everyone has been super helpful with any questions I've had, my new teammates seem like a great group of guys. I couldn't ask to be surrounded by better people in this league.
Quote5. Are you still heartbroken and pretending you're fine like me after the Lightning choked again?
Wait playoffs started already? Just kidding but ya I'm just trying to block that part of history out of my memory at this point haha.
Quote6. What are your goals for the upcoming season?
Just be successful and productive. I want to make a name for myself out there and I know it won't be with my scoring so I'll have to be really on my game defensively.
Quote7. Do you have any plans for your player over the offseason?
No plans just keep practicing and training to improve my game.
Quote8. How important for you is it to play for a competitor?
Important. I think the answer is the same for most people. Everyone wants to win.
Quote9. What do you think makes you stand out from other draft prospects?
I'd have to say my dedication. I've been spending a lot of time working on my career and its really showing in my stats so if i can keep on this pace I see myself really making a name in the league.
Quote10. How much interest do you have for playing in the World Cup for your country?
I would love to! Representing my country would be a great honor!

I returned to Tampa Bay this week to take another look at upcoming VHLM Free Agent Brendan James Lawn. Brendan has been hard at work on the rink since we last spoke with him hoping to earn his place on one of the teams who has shown him interest. When we first spoke a few eager teams had shown interest in him and now Brendan informs me he had been contacted by the of the Minnesota Storm who was also showing interest.
We asked what Brendan has been focusing on most in his game recently. "Defense has been on my mind a lot. That's why a team is going to draft me and I have to be at the top of my game defending before I can think of moving forward and producing points. If I can't defend I won't be in the VHLM."
Luckily Brendan won't have much to worry about there. Scouts have judged his defensing skills rating to be around 68. With the focus he has been showing it is now doubt he can improve that well beyond the 70's before the season begins. As of now this Rookie in the league is looking to be a fine addition to any defensive line on the ice and we wish him the best of luck getting there.

Review: Great Bio and interesting early life (even if it wasn't intended, haha). Plenty of pictures to help us along with the story and your story telling and writing are great. I like how you threw some of your other characters like Phil Knight into this new rookies history as well. Lot's of Phil's running around the league now haha, great read and good job.

Review: Great listen! I'm pretty new to the league so I can't talk much about your talking points but you sound like you know your stuff and what your talking about. It was interesting listening to your history in the league and your past experiences with coaching and players. You're podcast really flowed well also. I'm not sure if you planned your talking points ahead of time or if this was all on the spot with you just talking but it kept moving and you always had something to lead into. Great job!

Review: Wow this has gotta be one of my favorite graphics I've seen yet. The text choices are awesome I love the overlay and the T just peeks out between the "LL" enough to be readable. The background is super cool is that a grey scaled wood floor texture or something? Awesome work I have no complaints!

Nah. Check out the recent shot totals against. Been very lopsided in our favor.
Obviously that's the offense too but I gotta toot my own horn every once in a while.
