With the recent off-season acquisition and a steller draft with 3rd overall, Roger Eagles has decided to end his off-seaon training in Poland early and fly back to LA. He wants to meet all the new players and welcome in the draft picks. "I think the team made some great pickups in this off-season which really fast-tracked our window to get into playoffs and win that cup, these were moves that gave up some of our future to help us win now" Roger said "The team is excited and I think we have a great chance to do something amazing this season and over the next few" The biggest acquisition was Pierre Marc Bouchard which filled a massive gap at the Center position and brings in a player that has already achieved over 100 points in his career and someone who has experience winning the contintental cup. "This is a massive pickup and can only help the team moving forwad" Roger continues "Not only is he an amazing player, he has continental cup experience which will help all the young guys here. I believe he is one of the best in the league and I can't wait to see him play"

Roger Eagles is in Poland for his off-season training and it seems like the Los Angeles goalies seems to be bulking up. Size has never been an issue for him so it has been strange to see. "I just think I can get slightly bigger to cover more of the net, I have been working on bulking up and just getting bigger muscle overall to see if it helps" Roger said "This is my last season before I start trending downwards due to regression and I am going to try anything I can to make sure I get better for this upcomming season" Usually size does not play a big factor in goalies and they focus more on the 4 core skills of Rebound, Reaction time, Hand speed and style control but Roger has found some ideas on how using those 4 skills along with size can really help the goalie get better and cover more of the net. "It doesn't hurt to try as it doesn't affect any other part of my game, size won't make me slower or react slower" Roger continued " Next season I want to be at the peak of my performance and this is the road I will go down, we will just have to wait and see if it helps or if I made the wrong decision but I think it is the right choice at this current time"

Unlike last year where he hung around and took a little time to himself to explore Los Angeles at the end of last season, this end of season Roger flew the next day right back to Poland to prepare for his off-season training at the Eagles Poland training facilities. "I think with this next season being my prime season and the season where I will need to be my best, I decided that I will have no off-time and jump right into my off-season training immediately" Roger said "I need to work a few kinks out and make sure I am in the best shape for next season. I think this upcomming season will be my make it or break it season for my guys career" Roger has been average so far while waiting on his team to rebuild, but this season the Los Angeles stars should be able to challenge for a wildcard spot. "I think this is finnaly the season where we will cause some surprises and be able to finnaly get to what we have building towards" Roger continued "It has been a long 4 seasons and this 5th season is I think where we will shine and prove ourselves to the league. Our defense core is great, our goaltending has never been better and I think we can snag a few forwards to help us out to compete this season"

Review: Had to catch up on the other chapters. Its refreshing to see a multi chapter media spots here in the VHL. One suggestion I would add is to add the links to the chapters into your actual story iteself. I know you have it in your Sig but some people may miss it and the story so far is not to be missed. Roger Eagles just finished his 4th season with Los Angeles and it's another season with no playoffs. While it is another early off-season, Roger has set some career bests this time around. He set a new Career best in goals against average at 2.93 and save percentage at .923. "I'm starting to get a little older and I can almost see that regression in two seasons, next season I will be at my prime and it would be great to lead us into the playoffs" Roger said after his final game of the season "We got a lot of work to do but I think we can challenge for a wildcard spot next season. We thought we had a good chance this season but the last 15 or so games we just did not play well enough. I am hoping to be 100% healthy next season and get in at least 60 starts. My goal is to get us into the playoffs but also compete for some awards" Roger has had a mediocre career so far and the former 3rd overall pick wants to change that going forward. "I have to be better, have not been happy with my play in the first four years. It's time to step it up a notch next season" Roger said " Before I retire I want to win some awards and that will be the goal going forward"

After an injury plagued season, Roger is fit enough and has been given the green light to finish out the season. This is good news to the Stars as they are hoping for a late push into the wildcard spot. They are currently 10 points out with 13 games left to play. "Ricky played great and gave me time to recover and now its time for me to jump back in and finish out the season strong" Roger said "It's going to be a very tough task with only 13 games left but their is belief in our locker room. We just need to get on a hot streak in these last few games and we might have a shot" The Stars are in a 4 game losing streak which really has set them back and even if they don't qualify this year, there is lots of hope for next season " While we will give everything we have this season, I am very confident next season we won't be fighting for the spot in the last few games, I believe we will be confidently in either the wildcard or playoff spot" Roger continued "Team has grown well this season and if we can add a few missing pieces we will be golden. I think what were really lacking is that one true scoring forward but I think we will be able to pick someone up or trade for someone that will help us out next season"

After a rough season last year, Roger Eagles, seems to be back into great form as he is enjoying his best year yet. The 4th year Los Angeles goaltender has shown glimpses this season of why he was drafted 1st overall. In 36 games played so far this season he is 17-18-1 with a .923 save percentage which is a career best as of now and a 2.84 goals against average which is also a career best. We believe this play has come down to more focus and more experience in the crease but also from the great play of the Stars backup Ricky Lafleur. "Ricky @DarkSpyro has been great when his in the net and he has been pushing me to play better, his always yelling and hollering from the bench giving his support and its vice versa when his in the net" Roger said "This is the first year the team has had a true backup and someone to push and challenge me for the spot and it has been working. Were both having incredible years and pushing our team to challenge for that final wild card spot" The team for this season has about 20 games left to play and its expected Roger to get maybe 12 or so more games in as he plays a few less games this season due to a nagging injury "While I feel great the doctors have me on a game time management plan which will hopefully have me back at 100% for next season. I think these rests have done wonders for me as I get older and have also helped in my play" Roget continued "With a capable backup we can now manage each goalies time properly so that we are at our best" Many have wondered how the 1st overall goalie has handled significant less play time with the rise of Ricky but it seems like there is no issues at all and in fact it has helped the Stars move forward in their pursuit to get back into the playoffs "Ricky is great and one of the best backups you can have in the league, I know sometime soon he will surpass me and snatch that starter spot from me and ill be more then happy to give it up for him" Roger said " but for now I intend to keep that spot at least for another season, when I get older in my 6th season and start to regress then he can have it as I know he will be fully ready for it" Rumors have it that Roger will be attempting for some individual awards next season and is using this season to fully heal his body before a grueling next season. "Rumors are rumors but it would definitely be great to win one or two awards before I regress, I have been working hard and believe that next season I can make something happen in that front " Roger said addressing the rumors "I may have to compromise with Ricky or just pay him off with some weed so that I can squeeze in a few extra starts to hit award nomination type of games played but we will see, our main focus is to finish this season out first and challenge for that wildcard spot"

The Los Angeles Stars continues to be in the race for the wildcard spot but they have now fallen behind by 10 points. "Were doing what we can but I just don't think we have the offense capability at the moment to catch up. Maybe something will happen at the trade deadline" Roger said "I think our Defense and Goalie situation is pretty settled but we just need someone with that scoring touch. Were 12th overall for goals for this season but 7th overall in goals against. That is one area we need to improve. We need to put more pucks in the net if we have any hope this season" While Lod Angeles has been playing significantly better then last season the lack of a true scoring all-star caliber forward has seen them fall behind in the race. With only 27 games left to go, it is now crunch time to see if the Stars can put together a late season win streak in order to have a chance at securing a wild card spot this season. "Everyone here wants that spot, its reachable, we just have to play our best hockey of the season" Roger concluded

The Eagles dynasty is not known for being goons or really getting into the physical aspect of the game BUT there was one Eagles player who could borderline fall into this category and that was the punishing defender Tom Eagles. Tom retired back in Season 83 but he will always be known as the most physical and goon type of player to come through the Eagles ranks. Tom Eagles is the only Eagles so far to be known for playing a hard hitting, in your face style of game and prone to a few fights here and there. Tom Eagles racked up 1032 penalty minutes in his career with 1456 hits and 1246 blocked shots. He is 8th overall in Calgarys history of most hits, 8th overall in Penalty minutes and 3rd overall in shots blocked. Tom was known to be a punishing defender where the opposing team was always looking out for him when he was on the ice. They knew that if anyone was on the ice with Tom they would most likely be getting a massive hit, a slash on the ankles or have to eventually fight the towering 6'6" 230 lb of pure muscle defenseman. Goon or no Goon, this is the closest anyone from this Dynasty has come to receiving the title and it was well deserved. By playing a hard hitting game and close to goon level helped Tom win the Jake Wylde trophy as the best Defensive Defensman in Season 82 with Calgary and was the only award Tom received throughout his career. "I don't know if I would consider myself a goon, I just played a very physical game and you know some people might call that a goon but I thought of it as just playing hockey the hard and right way" Tom said "It was the way I liked to play but what I tell the critics is what Goon have you seen that also put up 536 points in 576 games? I played tough but I also was able to contribute offensively and help my team win. What more can you ask for from a defenseman?" When asked if he would change anything to not be labelled a goon? "Never, that style made me who I was and made me an all-star in the league. I don't care about the labels, I just enjoyed playing that way" The next closest "goon" out of the Eagles dynasty is Henry eagles with a measly 552 penalty minutes but 1405 hits. It does not come close to what Tom accomplished and we may never see another Eagles reach borderline goon status ever again. The only exception might be if the Eagles dynasty has a Defender in the works, but not much is known about who the next Eagles player will be as the current Player, Roger, is still quite some time away before they have to retire. Rumor out of the Eagles camp is that their next player currently in training will be a two-way forward but time will tell.

In just 16 games played this season, Roger Eagles, is only 3 wins away from tying the amount of wins he got last year in 60 games. With last season firmly in the past, Roger, has been enjoying his return to the ice after a lengthy time away due to an injury. The injury saw rookie Ricky Lafleur take over the reigns which showed the team he is very capable of taking over if Roger needs time off due to injury or maintenance. With his return he has been putting up significantly better numbers and is helping the Stars maintain their wildcard spot. With a long season left to go, you will probably see Roger takes some more maintenance days if the team is in a position to make the wildcard spot. If the battle for the wildcard spot is close, you will most likely see Roger start more of the games. "It's been a fun season so far and playing with two great goalies has been a big help to our ambitions this year" Roger said " I am also glad to be back up to 100% and injury free so now its time to push myself to the limit and see what I can do. With the way the season has been going we know we will be in that wildcard race so we need to keep giving it all"

In the first time of his career, it seems like Roger Eagles, has been benched in favor of rookie Ricky Lafleur. With Eagle's slow start and terrible play the Stars put in the rookie goaltender and he has impressed. He has impressed so much that he now has played in nine straight starts while Eagles watches from the bench. Many fans are wondering what is happening behind the scenes as they would expect their top started to be starting majority of games this season as the team pushes for their first playoffs in quite a while. Ricky so far has gone with 4 wins and 4 losses, a .921 save percentage and a pretty good 2.32 goals against average while Roger sits at a 4 win and 6 loss record, a .905 save percentage and an abysmal 3.49 goals against average. " It's not what it seems, I re-tweaked my injury so we are taking a more cautious approach in my return. That being said though Ricky has been playing great and giving the teams wins" Roger said " I have always been a team guy first over individual stats and hey if he is winning us games I say we keep him in. Our goal is to finish in a wildcard spot and at the moment he is the one getting us there. I am hoping after this nagging injury heals that I will be able to get back to my normal self and continue helping this team achieve our goals" Many weren't convinced of Roger's statement and rumors are flying as to what could be happening. There have been rumors that Roger is in the coaches dog house due to his bad start to the season and the team is giving Ricky a chance to steal the starters spot. Another rumor is that the team is trying to push the struggling goaltender out as they are not getting enough value for the contract that Roger demands. With Ricky earning a much less salary and playing a lot better then Roger, the management might be giving Ricky a run to see if he can carry the team if Roger was ever moved from the team. So far Ricky has been proving the management right. "You know, I think the media is just fishing for some headline story but there is none, I had an injury in the off-season that you guys already knew about and in my last start it just tweaked again. I don't want to play injured especially this early in the season" Roger said " We have a capable backup that is helping the team while I get better. There is no truth in all these rumors of being in the dog house or trying to push me out, I am happy here in Los Angeles and want to play here for as long as I can" Time will tell on if Roger is telling the truth or if the rumour mill has some sort of truth behind it. Fans are expecting big things from the team this season and hope that there is no drama brewing behind the scenes.

Maybe it was the nagging injury he just recovered from or just a bad day in the office but the first game of the season for Roger Eagles is one to forget. Roger got lit up 5 times on only 25 shots as LA lost 5-1 to Calgary. It was a disappointing start to the season for Roger who trained significantly in the off-season to improve on his play. "It just wasn't good. I think this is my worst start in the first regular season game ever. I felt ready but you know maybe that injury wasn't fully healed" Roger said after the game " Calgary is a good team but there is now way I should have let in five. Lesson learned and back to the drawing board we go. This was just unacceptable play from myself" The second game against Calgary as well was much better as Roger settled in and only allowed 2 goals on 33 shots in a 2-0 loss. "It was a much better game, I saw the puck better and this is how it should of been in the first game" Roger said after the second game " It can only get better from here and I believe if we continue to play like we did in this second game that we will see some wins in no time"
