Posted 9 hours ago Continental Cup Finals!! To say I am a bit excited for the team is a bit of an understatement as we tried to get the team into this position last season and we came up short but to actually make the finals this season in a season with it ups and downs, losing streak followed by winning streak heading into the play-off has been a wild ride and since I didn`t do a New Years press conference I guess we can combine two together by reflecting on the past season. Either way we are back with another press conference, so answer three questions for one TPE or all six for two TPE. As always have fun!! 1. What trade impacted the team the most this season? Definitely the Sergey trade. It was a big swap and we lost a good player in Nico but we got just as good of a player in Sergey. He has been a big part of our push in the playoffs and he has been a solid addition to the team 2. Who do you feel was the teams Unsung Hero this season? Why? I would say Fuhr. He has really stepped up his game and put the team on his shoulders in the second half of the season and so far in the playoffs. 3. What player on the Vancouver Wolves should be the teams MVP? Why? I would go with Fuhr once again for mainly the same reasons as above. He has been in phenomenal shape and I hope it continues in the finals! 4. Who do you think is the teams current Play-off MVP? Why? Triple Fuhr answer! Fuhr has gone above and beyond in these playoffs and deserves to be our MVP at the end of the playoffs. 5. Who is the most improved player this season with the Wolves? Toss up between Maple and Puk, both have seen massive improvements since last season and have been great contributors this season! Future is bright with these 2! 6. Fill in the blank: Vancouver Wolves are Continental Cup Champions if ___________________. We continue to play strong in front of Fuhr and able to dominate offensively

It was supposed to be one of the better series in this seasons playoffs as two heavyweights met in the Conference finals but in the end it was a huge upset in a series that only took 5 games to finish. It was a great series for Henry Eagles as he managed points in each of the 5 games. Game 1: Vancouver 2 - Calgary 4 The first game of the series didn't go well for Vancouver as they lost the first game 4-2. Henry Eagles put up one goal but it was not enough and the doubt amongst the players and fans started to sink in knowing that Calgary dominated Vancouver in the regular season. If Vancouver wanted to win this series they would have to play a lot better and a lot smarter. "After the first game, we had a team meeting to discuss what we needed to do better. We didn't play well and we knew if we wanted to beat this strong Calgary team that we needed to play better as a team. We couldn't play as individuals" Henry said after a post-game interview. The meeting must have had an effect on the team as the next 4 games, they played some of their best hockey of the year. Game 2: Vancouver 3 - Calgary 2 It was a hard fought and close game all the way to end. While Vancouver played well, the hero of this game was Brandt Fuhr who faced an onslaught of 51 shots but kept the Wolves in the game. Henry Eagles once again finished this game with 1 goal to help the Wolves secure the win. This game was the turning point of the series as the effort shown by the players and the outstanding game by Fuhr game everyone hope that they can win this series. "It was just an amazing game by Fuhr, he kept us in it even when we didn't play the best defensively. He was a beast!" Game 3: Vancouver 5 - Calgary 4 Another close game and another outstanding performance by Fuhr. He faced 58 shots in this game meaning he has faced 109 shots in the past 2 games. Heavy workload for the keep but significantly helped the Wolves in this game. The other hero in this game was no other then Henry Eagles who scored the overtime winner. He finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist. "It's always an amazing feeling getting that overtime winner and taking the series lead with it. Team played great and now that we took this lead, we know that this Wrangler team can be defeated" With this win the Wolves took a stranglehold on the series and they never looked back heading into the final few games. Game 4: Vancouver 4 - Calgary 3 The 3rd one goal victory for the Wolves and probably the game that put the nail in the coffin. This win by the Wolves deflated any Calgary momentum and dropped the Wranglers morale to an all time low during this series. Henry Eagles had another solid game putting up 1 goal and 1 assist. " I think we even surprised ourselves going up 3-1 in the series versus the Wolves, we thought this was going to be a tight series, and while it has been score wise we have just taken control. We can't get too complacent though as we know they are a strong team and we just need to finish this up in the next game" Game 5: Vancouver 3 - Calgary 2 Another 1 goal game but everyone could see the Wranglers were not in the right mind set to climb out of the hole and get a win here. They put up their lowest amount of shots this series with only 27. The Wolves dominated the game through each period. Henry continued his point streak and finished the game with 1 assist. With this win the Wolves have advanced and now await their next opponent. Henry Recap: Henry had a solid series ending with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points. His playoff total now sits at 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points. He will be hoping to continue his great play for the rest of the playoffs.

With the Christmas holiday and new years coming up, Henry Eagles, has decided to give back to the community. Henry recently offered one month of his salary to those in need in the Vancouver area. His Month's worth of salary will be split up between donating to Children's hospitals, food banks and homeless shelters. "This is the time of year where people may be struggling financially or mentally and I want to give back to the community that I have called home for the past few seasons" Henry said " With this donation I hope I will be able to help out those that need it most. We all should give a helping hand during this holiday season and not forgot those that may be less fortunate then us this season" With Henry's donation, his team the Vancouver Wolves, have also matched his donation in order to help the community during the holiday season. Both donations will buy medical equipment for the Children's hospital, 3 months worth of food for the food bank and more spaces/supplies for the homeless shelter.

Review: Great article about your season and your plans for the upcoming season. Always fun to read what a player will be doing and plans for training for the next season. Good length on the article and don't really see much cons in this article. I would just maybe add a picture to make it stand out but that's about it really. 9/10

Review: I always like reading random VHL thoughts as media spots as it then exposes me to parts of the leagues that I don't really focus to much attention on such as the M or E or the upcoming draft. Reading this helped me see how Houston is doing and its unfortunate to see they have been eliminated. The article is great, all I would add to make it better is possibly a picture. Well done! 9/10

1. Trade deadline passed and it was relatively quiet since only three trades were completed but Chicago made some huge moves in collecting a complete line-up by acquiring former Vancouver Wolves in William Futch @Futch and Watts Power @Tape-to-Tape for a S87 CHI 1st and S88 CHI 3rd. Do you think this trade improves Chicago enough to make a run at the Cup? Definitely, they were good players for us and will help Chicago in the playoffs. I just hope we don't end up playing Chicago and then having this trade bite us in the ass. 2. Most interesting trade at the trade deadline was between Warsaw and Toronto as they swamped goaltenders in Wumbo @Fire Fletcher and S87 LDN 2nd for Oskar Lindbergh @Doomsdaybut only to have the league veto the trade due to salary cap issues. Have you even seen the league veto a trade before and what are your thoughts on this vetoed trade? I have never seen it yet in this league but if rules were broken or the teams weren't able to manage to get players under the cap then I definitely agree with the veto. Teams need to manage the salary and make trades without going over. 3. Vancouver Wolves decided not to pull the trigger on any further trades at the deadline, was this a good move now that the team is starting to win or will this bit the team in the butt when we face either DC or Chicago in the first round of the play-offs? (Assuming we make it) I think it was a good move as we have very talented players that are still young. We will be OK and we did make the playoffs :P. Now hopefully we can make it far! 4. This also marks the time that we start to understand that some of your older players are not going to be playing another season in the VHL. This season Vancouver only has one player in Donny Carter @TheNeonShaman that will be hanging up his skates at the end of the season. What would you like to say to Carter heading into the final stretch of his career? Hopefully we can get Donny a cup before he hangs them up, it would be a great retirement gift for him. Hopefully after he retires he still sticks around after he retires in a coaching or management role! 5. The league is once again running a bunch of activities for Holiday season; what do you think of the league choice of activities and are you going to activity take part in any of them? I always enjoy the Holiday activities and I will be taking part. I think donating to charity is a great thing to do around this time of year and its great to hear that the league is raising money for some good causes. 6. A week has passed and I won`t lie; it wasn`t looking good for the Vancouver Wolves to even make the play-offs. What has changed; if anything, to have Vancouver turn their losing ways into winning ways? Well since I am doing this Presser after the fact, we made the playoffs! I think we found some great chemistry and have been playing well. Hopefully it continues for the rest of the playoffs.

The Wolves had advanced through the wildcard round after winning the Series against Seattle 3 games to 0. The Wolves were dominant from the start and never looked like they would lose. We will focus this article on how Henry Eagles played in these games. Game 1 : Vancouver 4 - Seattle 2 Henry had an ok start to the first game. Henry scored the 4th goal for the Wolves in the 3rd period and opened up his goal scoring tally for the playoffs. " I think we all got off to a great start in this game, we never let up and were able to showcase how much depth we had" Henry said " I was happy being able to help the team with a goal and hoping I am able to put more in the rest of this series" It was a great start for the Wolves and this carried on throughout the rest of the series. Game 2: Vancouver 5 - Seattle 2 This game started off rough for the Wolves as they quickly went down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game but they managed to quickly tie the game up before the first period ended and from there ended up dominating the game. For Henry, it was not a memorable game as he was unable to contribute to the point total. "It was just one of those games for me I guess, I had 7 shots on net but was unable to get anything past their goalie" Henry said "but in the end we won the game and that is all that matters. We played well to comeback from 2-0" The Wolves were just 1 game away from sweeping the Bears. Game 3: Vancouver 5 - Seattle 2 In game 3 the Wolves dominated from the start as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period. Seattle had no shot at coming back and this sealed the deal for the Wolves with the sweep. Henry played much better in the third game and while he didn't score, he ended the game with 2 assists. "I didn't score but it was nice to help out and assist on some of our other guys goals. " Henry said "it feels great to win and our team really showed up today from the start, I think we put Seattle out of the game early and that helped" In the end, Henry finished with 3 points in 3 games, 1 goal and 2 assists. The Vancouver Wolves will now prepare for a much tougher opponent and one of the favorites to win the cup in the Calgary Wranglers. "I think it will be a good series that will go the distance, I am very familiar with the Wranglers as my dad used to play for them and I was always at the rink watching him play " Henry said " I know they are a very talented group and will be playing at their best. We just need to be prepared and make sure we do all the little things right. If we do the little things right then we have a very good chance of upsetting Calgary"

The season is over and the Wolves are in the playoff hunt again. This year they enter the playoffs in a wildcard spot and will face off against the Seattle Bears. It will be an interesting series as the Wolves had a significant higher point total but the Bears are known to be always dangerous in the playoffs. If the Wolves are to win this series they will have to get output from Henry Eagles. The former first overall first round pick will have to showcase his offensive skills and put a few pucks in the back of the net. "I feel good for this years playoff, we have a solid team and I think we can surprise alot of people " says Henry " I keep getting better every game and currently enjoying my game, we go into this series with high confidence and the belief that we can beat any team. It would be a massive disappointment if we get eliminated in the wildcard, so I will be doing whatever I can to help us win" In last years playoffs, Henry put up 5 points in 7 games and he will be hoping to do much better in this best of 5 wild card series.

I originally started in VHL a long time ago, don't remember exactly what season but it was the days of manual updates. I was much younger and I believe I only played for a few seasons before stopping. Eventually I found my way back in S66 with the creation of Greg Eagles (Goalie) and from that creation it has spawned the Eagles legacy. I am now on my 3rd player and have been having a great time. Today I will discuss about my first gen experience with Greg Eagles. Initial Registration: I re-found VHL through what I think was an email from the recruitment team, emailing out all old players. I remember taking a look at the link and checking it out. I wanted to see how the league has changed as I remember I was never a fan of the manual updates. To my surprise everything was now automated so I decided to take the plunge and sign up to see how things have changed. Since signing up I have really enjoyed being in the league, hence why I am on my 3rd player. I signed with San Diego as a FA in the VHLM. I believe InstantRockstar was the gm back then but I might be wrong. I remember having a great first gen experience, the locker room was great and was getting lots of help from the GM down to the players. After the first season, I went into my first ever draft. While I started as a max earner, not many people knew who I was and back then with the stigma of new gen players not going high overall (which does make sense sometimes as you don't want to waste a high pick on someone who you are not sure will earn or even stay active), I ended up being drafted 19th overall by Vancouver who was managed by Beaviss. He took a chance on me and looking back at Eagle's career, I think Beaviss had a huge draft steal at number 19. With my first gen player I hit 1366 TPE and had a pretty successful career. Award and Cup wins. 72 RIG Continental Cup 72 RIG Daisuke Kanou Trophy 70 VAN Greg Clegane Trophy 70 VAN Aidan Shaw Trophy 69 VAN Victory Cup 67 VAN Continental Cup Not bad for a 19th overall drafted first gen. Vancouver and Riga (gm'd by Hedge) was a great first re-introduction into the league and one of the reasons I continue to play. There was never any drama in the locker room and the gm's were upfront about what they wanted for the team. Since then I have been lucky with my other players in having great gm's in Ricer and Frank who care about their teams, players and always willing to help out with any build questions or league questions. To all other first gen's, stick it out for a full career with your player and see how it goes. Don't base the league on your first few games in the minors, base it on a full career. If you give it a chance you will see how fun this league is and how fun it is to see your player progress, see if you can win any cups/awards and if you can get your player into the HoF. I have one awards with my players and cups as well now I want to chase that HoF nomination. I don't know if I will ever reach it but I will definitely try. My 3rd player, Henry, will probably be my highest earning TPE player to date and while he is currently struggling in the points department, we do have a few more seasons to try and reach that HoF goal.

Henry Eagles has set new personal bests in the VHL in Goals and points. His new highs as of today for goals is 16 compared to previous of 13, and 34 points compared to 31. Assists he is tied with the same amount at 18 assists. There is still quite a few games to go (26 games) and Henry is working to keep increasing those totals. "My goal for this season was 60+ points and that might be a stretch unless I start playing a PPG for the rest of the season, I want to reach my goal and at the same time help the team win" Henry said " I thought I would have had a better breakout season this year but at this point in the season im not where I want to be. It's my Sophomore season and for some reason im still struggling no matter the work I put in. I see rookies having more points then me and even Sophmores having way more so it seems like I have to improve on something. Henry's struggles seem to come with the Wolves recently being on a slump but Henry and the team look forward to getting back on track and making sure they can qualify for the playoffs.
