  1. How is taking 1/3rd of your TPA 12%? Thing biggest thing that is broken in the league. I will always argue this is the wrong approach.

I agree with Gustav as I know if I had known that I was going to be hit with four years of depreciation then I wouldn`t have come up early to play a nine season career as I am now being hurt on the front end of the career by being a under-developed rookie in the VHL and like a heavy depreciated player in my final season of my career. Next player I will clearly have to think hard about stay the extra year in the VHLE or the VHLM.

because otherwise they'd just get to spend their last seasons widening the gap.

But I disagree with this statement since we are no longer widening the gap but rather being pulled back lower than other players that stayed down a season. Look not further than Vancouver with my player Bouchard and Maple as a great example as Maple now has more TPA than Bouchard simple due to me fight to keep his head above water while Maple has a full season to bank still. This is clearly punishment for skipping and earning faster than others.

Bouchard will now need to decide if it is worth playing his ninth season and being a average player or retire.

I was told it was to replicate the aging of a player, which I didn't buy for one moment. Gustav makes the point that the high earners should pay more. Why? Because they worked too hard? It's a punishment instead of a reward for doing the work. Apparently, they don't want welfare players to feel bad. Maybe work with the players that are new and encourage them to do tasks, not tell them it's ok to do welfare. It's there for the week you go on vacation, or something that takes you away from the league. It should not be promoted as the norm or it will become the norm. Oh wait...

Hot take on the welfare but I also agree this has very much become a Welfare league but that being said the leagues salary cap structure is based around having welfare players or depth option players. I remember a few off season ago that GM & AGM were told we were bad by public opinion since we value earners compared to clickers. Both have value but different value!!

It like comparing the guy that comes to work and works to someone that simple shows up to work to collect a pay cheque.
