1. How has the league and our Saskatoon locker room worked for you so far? Any changes you would like to see? While we are not certainly getting the results what everyone would want to see our guys are still in high spirits and wanting for more. 2. Why did you choose the position you currently play? Just happened. I would be happy to play in any position really. 3. If you were approached by a sponsor, which brand would you be happy to make an ad for? Something that I actually used and believed in. There are couple companies I can think of but maybe it's wise not to say them here. 4. As of posting this we have 5 games under our belt, do you think we're performing over or under expectations and on track for the weeks to come? I think we can do better still, we have a great team and hopefully we can show it during the following weeks. 5. 72 games from now, if eligible and not already drafted, which team in the VHL would you hope you are drafted by? If drafted, are you happy with who picked you? As a Finn I guess Titans would be the place for me, even though I doubt I would get any playtime there. 6. In Saskatoon, who will score the most points this season? Telker most likely.

Welcome to Saskatoon and to the first press conference in a long time, and the start of a brand new season!1. With the season about to start, which teams do you think will do the best in VHLM for this season? Hounds and Halifax both seem like quite strong teams so I wouldn't be surprised if either of them would end up winning this year. 2. If you had to say what you like best with, Saskatoon - this little town - what would it be? Life here is very similar to my hometown in Finland which I enjoy very much. 3. What song would you like our fans to sing after a home-ice win? Born to be wild? I honestly don't know. 4. Some fans have been vocal about a logo change for the team, if you changed it, what would you want it to depict? A howling coyote would look fierce for sure! 5. What are your personal expectations in S69? Hopefully I can become a first line winger for the team. 6. What kind of a teammate do you envision yourself to be at the end of this season? Someone the team can depend on.

No one knows why they made this of a 4th round pick, but everyone knows it has no value.

Sade Taika - Rookie Profile Height: 5’10 Weight: 160 lbs Position: Right Winger Handiness: Left Style: Playmaker Birthplace: Tampere, Pirkanmaa Nation: Finland Sade Taika is a hockey player with a dynamic skill set and has great eye for finding the right pass. She is definitely an undersized, but where she lacks in physical strength and size she makes it up with electrifying speed. This makes her very hard to contain in the modern era of hockey. Taika is also known for being a great locker room personality who gets along with almost anyone. She boasted an excellent +/- in the Finnish Jr. league last season and helped her team Tampere Kivikirves to win the championship in quite easy fashion. While she didn't rack up any rewards of her own she showed great skill all year long and especially during the playoffs. Her younger brother also plays in Kivikirves and is regarded as the more talented of the two. Strengths: Speed: You will she her coming, but you won't be able to do nothing about it. Taika owns jaw-dropping speed that she uses well to get into the offensive zone with ease and can be regarded as a threat on breakaways. Passing: Primarily a playmaker, Taika relies on her hockey IQ and has the ability to dictate the pace of the game with the puck. She should be put in a line with a natural goalscorer making for an excellent point producing unit. She is also well-known for her nearly magical long-range saucer passes. Maturity: Has the ability to stay cool and collected in any situation. There is no record of Taika ever fighting on ice and she rarely takes any unnecessary penalties either. Can be seen as future captaincy material if she continues developing as a player. Weaknesses: Size/Strength: Undersized Taika avoids physical side of the game as much as possible and often depends on smart poke checking over body checks and other contact play. This is easily weakest part of her game and might come haunt her in the future. Work Rate: While clearly talented Taika has been often criticized over her lackluster work rate, especially when it comes to own end play. She has clearly been rectifying this problem as her last junior season in Finland has went on to show she can succeed in higher level. Shooting Ability: While her wrist shot is precise and has a quik release it seriously lacks power. Real problem is with her disastrous slap shot which extremely inaccurate, usually missing the net completely. Maybe the right shooting coach will help her rectify this problem in the future. Overall: Well-rounded speeder who shows great patience with the puck and is not afraid of deking past defenders to try scoring herself. Owns mature, professional personality and has already showed the need to improve in the eyes of the critics. Her size will be an issue, but there is the possibility of her bulking up still. It will be interesting how she develops in the future and/or if she makes it in the next level at all.
