What's up everyone! It's your friendly neighborhood GM coming at you with some hot press conference questions! Be sure to answer all 6 for some easy TPE!

    1. What is your favorite thing about the city of Vegas?

The food! You can get whatever you want at any time of day!

    2. Looking back, who would you make the 3 captains knowing the results of the S71 regular season?

I think our progression in that area was probably right. Results aren't what make a captain.

    3. What's your social security number player number and why?

31, it's what they gave me as a kid, and I never had a problem.

    4. Link us to a picture of what you think the Team Pet should be!

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tvguide.com%2Fnews%2Fessential-baby-yoda-gift-guide%2F&psig=AOvVaw0TqbCDNUqSR5rk8fnE_3H4&ust=1588789534015000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAIQjRxqFwoTCJjdsLesnekCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD

    5. Who's your roommate during road games?

As a goaler, my gear is my roommate. You gotta see how much stuff I need.

    6. Which corporate sponsor would you like to see on our arena?

Nokia! sure they aren't cool, but they're a good Nordic company.

1.) The aces sit in 5th place, did you think we would finish this high? expect less?, More?

Honestly, I thought we could push higher, but perhaps that was just my rookie naivite. We're still in the hunt and amassing TPE.

    2.) The Aces have 4 players at 250 TPE  @Proto @ng1291 @Pengu @McWolf who goes first ;)

I assume the needs of the drafter will decide.

    3.) Is @Proto a Boomer?

If you're talking about booming slappers then year!

4.) Should @Proto shave his head if Vegas wins the cup?

We don't want him scaring the kids!

5.) Peanut Butter and Jelly, or Grilled Cheese?

Grilled cheese every time, no doubt.

6.) Most Underrated player on the Aces?

I gotta look to Remy Moreau. Second year guy putting up a ton of hits, and a strong plus/minus.

    1. Who do you want to replace me as the AGM?

No real feelings, not sure who is out there frankly.

    2. Now that Proto has been here a while, who do you feel about him?

Putting up numbers, good looker room guy. Get's a good score from me.

3We have started to win a lot, do you think we can continue that winning pace?

Our defense is starting to pick this up, and I am as well. We've had a number of games where we've allowed fewer than 15 shots. Each one of those that we lose, is on me, so as I improve we'll keep getting better.

    4. Are you happy with the new friends in our locker room?

We've got a great thing going. It's been a great intro to the VHLM.

    5. Do you feel that you are performing up to standards?

I'm getting there. Coming in I had a lot of growing to do, but things are progressing well.

    6. Does the arena need any upgrades?

Someone needs to get the slot machines out of the locker room. I know it's Vegas, but come on!

HELLO LAS VEGAS! PRESSER FOR THE WEEK ENDING 19TH.

    1. With Poptart stepping down, how do you feel with the new addition that is @Proto?

Looking forward to it, we're a strong team, and new leadership shouldn't change that.

    2. Do you feel comfortable with the new locker room?

The lockerroom hasn't changed that much, we're all still gunning to win.

    3. Do you have any line suggestions?

Not really my area of expertise. I just stand in the back and keep the puck out of the goal.

    4. Do you feel that Proto at the helm can change our winning and losing?

We've got a good thing going. We had a few rough weeks, but the team is still fundamentally strong.

    5. Do you have any team award suggestions?

Not sure what the award are, but Joe Proto has been stellar at closing out close game, leading the league in GWG.

    6. How many points do you want to have at the end of the season? (Keep it realistic)

I've got 4 right now, so I'd love to finish with at least 6.

    Week Ending 12th

Hey there Las Vegas! You guys feelin' lucky yet? I know Joe Proto and Alex Letang like to gamble. Here are your 6 questions.

    1. Are you impressed with Las Vegas' performance this year?

We started really hot. Defense was on fire, allowing around 15 shots per game, scoring was good enough to put up numbers.

    2. How do you think you are doing as of now?

We've definitely cooled. I think teams are realizing that throwing pucks at the net will have results.

    3. Do you feel that you receive enough ice time here?

    Yes, I'm the #1 goaler.

    4. Do you think that we can make the playoffs?

For sure, we need to keep levels up, but we'll be there.

    5. If we were to start annual team awards, would you be on-board?

If we make one for leading scorer among goalers, then yes. Otherwise, no.

    6. Who is the most inspirational staff/player in the Locker Room?

Love the energy our GM puts into the locker room. A real part of our success.

Hello. You know the drill. April 5th. It's a beautiful day in Vegas. Hopefully we are all awake and DIDN'T STAY OUT ALL NIGHT GAMBLING, ahem, @Poptart.

    1. We have gotten off to a great start, do you feel we can continue this pace?

We're only getting stronger, both as individuals and a team. Take a look at our team defense? We're letting up a tiny number of shots per game. It isn't great for my numbers, but it's great for our numbers.

    2. What are your thoughts on the first game of the season which resulted in a loss?

    3. Are you happy with your performance in this early part of the season?

I'd like to bring my GAA down, but I can't complain about the record.

    4. Do you think Las Vegas can continue this winning pace.

Absolutely, we're scoring goals like crazy and keeping our shots against low. Should be a great formula for success.

    5. The team will be holding a team dinner at a nice restaurant in our local Casino, who is paying for the bill?

::Looks around:: Should be the owner, right? They're the big bucks around here.

    6. Is McWolf, your captain, leading you guys well?

We're all developing as a group and his leadership is a part of that.

  7. Week Ending 29th

    1. How do you feel we did in the draft?

We picked up some really strong players and have set ourselves up for a run for the cup.

    2. What are your expectations for yourself this year?

Build skills and adapt to the new league. The level of play will be a big step up, but surrounded by the players and coaches we've got in Vegas, I'm confident I can succeed.

    3. What are your expectations for the team this year?

We're looking to finish at or near the top.

    4. What are your thoughts on the captains?

Leadership has been great so far.

    5. Who will come out on top this year?

I'm looking forward to the Aces coming home with the cup.

    6. Who can be a surprise contender this year?

Hard to say, there's a bunch of teams who could spike a few big wins and steal the thing.

    @Biggreen10

First off, welcome to the league! I wanted to take a couple seconds and reach out as we think your player. would be a good fit to our team! Please note, other GMs may also offer, so feel free to take as much time as you would like before making a decision. You do have to wait 12 hours to make a decision, so no rush.

    Join the Aces!

We are going for it all this year. We had 7 picks in the first three rounds of the draft, so we absolutely want to win and want to win now. We have a couple year window to win a Cup. We have not won the Cup since Season 64, and that is too long for me. I would love to help you build the player you want to make. That's the type of GM in which I will be. I want you to be the player you want to be while I fit you into our system. I am always there to help with builds or any questions you may have on the league.

You would be a starting goalie, so there's no competition there. You'd have as many starts in the league from Day 1 as you need, so the net is all yours.

So, how about we make Vegas your home and make VHL GMs want you to be part of their team? I know you will receive a few offers, so I wish you the best if you do not choose to take your talents to Vegas (though I hope you do!).

Just quote this offer and say "I want to get Lucky" if you want to join the Aces!

Nils is thrilled to announce he'll be joining the Las Vegas Aces.

    1. Is your favorite movie The Big Green? I'm a big fan of action films, very much looking forward to the new James Bond once it comes out.
    2. What are you looking for when picking a team? I'd like somewhere that I can get starts on a regular basis. I don't mind a team that is working its way up, but I know that game time is essential to my development.
    3. Being a waiver pick means you have all the power to choose your team, how much do you like that or would you have rather been drafted? Everyone would always like to say they were drafted, but I knew missing the draft due to flight confusion was always going to be a challenge to getting drafted. At this point, I'm going to make the best of it.
    4. What do you see yourself working on attributes wise during this season? I'd like to take a balanced approach to my development, but I think rebound control will be essential. Can't go around giving up easy goals.
    5. What do you think is your biggest strength? I'm a big guy with the quickness of a small keeper, which should help when working in traffic.
    6. What do you want potential VHLM GMs to know about Nils? I'm a fun guy in the locker room and have a great track record with injury.

    Thanks for the questions @Poptart!

    Nils,

What do you expect to be the biggest jump from Norway to the VHLM to be? Basically everything, while coming up in Norway was fine to get this far, the VHLM is much faster, more physical, and more skillful. The only thing that's going to be easier is the weather.

What is your planned training program for the upcoming season? Off the ice, I want to focus on developing more lean muscle and flexibility. Flexibility is so key to avoiding injuries.

In Canada the was a raging conversation about whether or not a hot dog is a sandwich.  What are some of the stranger debates you have heard at home? I'd like to weight in on that debate. In Norway, we wrap our hotdogs in lefse, kind of like a tortilla. So for us the question becomes if a hotdog in a lefse is a sandwich, must also a taco or burrito become a sandwich? Now I'm not here to start that debate, but I'm always curious to try a new way to eat a hotdog!

    Thanks for the questions @KenFury

Nils Friedriksen, the goalie from Lillehammer, currently with Narvik of the GET-ligaen may not be in physical attendance at the draft. Storms in the North Sea have delayed KLM Flight 1172 from Trondheim to Amsterdam. With the youngster poised to miss his connection to Moscow, where cup winners Moscow Menace host the entry draft, rumors swirl about how this might affect his draft position. The last player to miss the draft through was Bob Timmons in season 61. While not an exciting prospect, he failed to attract any attention in the lead up to the draft and fell off the board, being forced to sign a free agent offer a few weeks into the season. We’ve just spoken to Nils in the Trondheim Airport, and he is nervous about the delay, but excited for the chance to take his game to the next level. Breath will be bated around the GET-ligaen tonight, while friends, family, and teammates wait to see what becomes of the new Norwegian net-minder.

  11. 1) Everyone knows the big dance is a big step up physically from the minors. How do you see your playstyle coping with that?

    2) Are you interested in joining a mid- to- high-level team where you'd play a role for a number of years, or do you want to go into a struggling team and be part of creating something new?

    3) What experience from minors do you believe most accurately demonstrates how your VHL career will look?

    4) Who is your idol in the league?

    5) Any teams you have no interest in joining?

    6) What does a successful rookie season look like to you?

    Thanks for your time.
