Answer any of the 6 questions below for 2 capped TPE:

    1. We are past the mid-season mark and so far we are still in a playoff spot. Considering how far back 5th is, how do you like our chances at making it to the playoffs?

    2. What has stood out to you the most about your own player’s performance so far?

    3. Would you like it if the VHLM had live sims for the playoffs? (like the VHL)

    4. If you got the chance to be a guest on our DaSLN podcast, would you want to?

    5. Which player in the league would you consider to be your rival?

    6. What do you think your current reputation in the community is like? What would you want to be known for?

    7. Are you excited to be participating in the WJC? (If you got selected)

    1. Given where we are in the standings, I think it's important that we don't get complacent and play some of our best hockey so that we can heat up come playoff time.

    2. I'm a little surprised at the amount of hits I've been able to rack up, sometimes as much as five in a game.

    3. Very much so.

    4. Absolutely.

    5. I'd much rather have friends than enemies, plus I don't think I've been in the league long enough to tick anyone off.

    6. Still working on building those relationships, but I hope people find me agreeable.

    7. I know some of the boys got picked and I'm going to be rooting for them.

    1. If you had to relate your player/ goalie to any NHL superstar, who would you pick? (Pick up to 2 players or goalies depending on your player’s position.)

    2. If you had to pick 1 (current) VHL player or goalie to be your mentor in the big leagues, who would it be?

    3. If you could pick any 3 (current) VHL player(s) or goalie(s) to play on the same team with you, who would they be?

    4. If you had to choose 1 player from our team that has shown the fastest growth this season, who would you select?

    5. What is your favourite looking Logo in the VHL?

    6. If we were to be associated with a VHL team as there farm team, which VHL team would you want the Lynx to be associated with?

    7. If our team makes a run for the Cup, who is the first person on to lift it if we won?

    8. What would you say your player or goalie’s specialty on the ice is?

    1. I've always been a big fan of Leon Draisaitl, he's got the big frame and a little bit of an edge to him while also being able to put up unreal numbers.

    2. @DoktorFunk has kinda taken me under his wing while I've been here so I wouldn't mind getting a chance to play with him out in Seattle.

    3. I'd love to centre a line with RJ Jubis @Jubis and Kris Rice @Ricer13 on the wings, and let's get Jaxx Hextall @ROOKIE745 in net.

    4. I don't think I've been here long enough so I'll defer to my teammates.

    5. Obviously I gotta go with the Lynx, But I'm an Alberta boy so I'm quite partial to Calgary's logo as well.

    6. Calgary so I can be close to home.

    7. When we win the Cup, I'm sure whoever lifts it first will be the last thing on our minds.

    8. I hope that I'm remembered as a player that worked like hell and gave everything he had to help the team win.

  3. You should have seen the look on his face.

As the Ottawa Lynx made their way to the locker room after a convincing 3-0 win over the San Diego Marlins, nobody wore a bigger smile than 16-year old rookie centre Kirk Holloway. "Obviously I'm pretty hyped," he told the local media after the game, "this is the kind of stuff you dream about as a kid and all that, but I'm just happy to get it out of the way so the guys will stop giving it to me."

Holloway has had what one may call a slow start to his Junior career. The Edmonton native had gone his first eight games without recording a point, but it was not for lack of effort - The coaching staff has shown incredible faith in their rookie, playing him upwards of 28 minutes a night. Despite this, Holloway has not been lighting up the Shots department either. When asked, Holloway attributed his slow start to simply making the adjustment to the new level of play. "It's definitely faster up here, you have way less time to make decisions so once you get the puck on your stick, you gotta be ready to go. I'm very thankful that Coach is giving me chances and I intend to reward him for that."

The goal came at 1:28 in the second period, when Right Winger Izzy Valencia blew past the defender, forcing his partner to cover and leaving Holloway wide open in the slot. "Izzy should definitely get most of the credit for that one, if they were all that easy I'd have about twenty by now. I just hope I can use it to get on a bit of a roll here."

Holloway was awarded the Second Star of the Game.

The Lynx will need Holloway to get going if they plan on making a run this year. They currently sit in seventh place in the VHLM and should make the playoffs, but the question remains if they can do any damage against the league's top teams.

In 12 games, Kirk Holloway has one goal and two assists, a -17 rating, six penalty minutes and 22 hits.
