Sometimes people having old ass beaters is entertaining too, that was really the point there and was actually what 3/5 of the things posted were. But yeah transit around here is pretty broken, the drive is only 25 minutes so a bus shouldn’t be 3x as long plus a long walk which I didn’t even factor in. Especially with the kids it’s just not feasible.

Also to some public transit is batshit awful as an option. It would take me over an hour and a half to get to work if I had to take the bus, that's just not something I'm capable of doing. The EV was honestly "spend a bit more now but save way more in the long term"
