Can’t really do that though because teams can easily sign someone and then get under the cap before the season begins, like Seattle did last off-season for example. It’s not the league’s job to make sure GM’s get within the cap, that’s on the GM’s. If anything we made it easier this season offering a free buyout but thus far that has not been used. I get that it’s frustrating from your perspective but your complain is ultimately with Spade for not getting under the cap.

Honestly for @leafsman‘a sake it would need to be soon if @Spade18 can’t pull something off.

They aren’t according to @Victor unless something has changed that I don’t know about. Last I heard they were $1Mill over the prime cap. Nano, being the last one added, sits until that cap is figured out.

I’d be more open to it for something like that where you aren’t talking something that happens frequently but could be interesting if done correctly for big games. We would need to figure out a method to get the announcer the game file though without it being leaked. If we output the index for example the box score is gonna be on there for anyone to look at. Easily something we could work out, but something to be brought up. Definitely don’t think it’s something we could frequently do though. Way too much work for little payoff.

If you’ve been skipped you can always pick whenever you notice. Also, tags don’t always email. I believe the default is set to not email from tags but I could be wrong. You can set how you’d like to be notified by things.

I’ve personally always looked at it as not worth the effort. We can sim easily 10+ games in a matter of minutes vs. Doing 1 with PbP that takes multiple hours for a single game. Maybe it’s just me but I’m too busy to even sit around for that and even if I weren’t, as you said, the PbP itself is rather boring. A PbP announcer could certainly fake it to jazz things up a bit but it’s still ultimately a huge undertaking for what I deem minimal gain. Realistically the reason the VHL took off 12 years ago is because we became the first league to run a text based sim instead of running off a video game that needed to be watched and PbP’s by an announcer. This ease of simming is a huge advantage because it means that we can have a pretty decently long season without having to kill our simming team in the process.

First hockey one I was in was definitely the ESHL which was the VHL’s predecessor but I’m sure there were older ones. ESHL was probably around 2006, so think the original SHL pre-dated it by a bit. As victor said, that’s not the current SHL which USB a bit older than The VHL. Original SHL is the earliest I know of but there might be older.
