I would say at least 3. League discussion, the root of the game’s forum, and the old records section. Mind you the old records section is less important than the other two but still. I’m also not opposing the questions being harder, especially with them being multiple choice. I just think that having the locations of these old spreadsheets be more accessible would be good if they are going to be required so heavily.

It’s not that they aren’t available. It’s figuring out exactly which one that you need and then finding it amongst the 3 or 4 different places they are located and then deciphering what’s in them. Not so easy for those of us that didn’t construct most of them We really should consolidate our spreadsheets. I mean ideally get the accurate information on the portal but at least having everything in one place would help.

I’m good at holding records only when you count the portal’s records haha. Pretty sure it says I’m the all time leader in SO as well which I’m not. Also, god damn, these new questions definitely require an intimate knowledge of some old spreadsheets.

Honestly didn’t even realize I was that high in +/- haha. I’ve been focussed so much in points, goals, and hits that I guess I didn’t look at anything else.

Honestly a cup and those numbers aren’t bad for a first player. You could have definitely been a lot worse.

He’re hoping Discipline is a better effect on PIM than it does on Hits and I didn’t just completely neuter myself in an attempt to stay out of the box.

Oh yeah, meant to answer this, oh well. Don’t need the TPE but the overall leaderboard is gonna be lacking for me.

I had a 15 game pointless streak last season. Team not not the sim hates me.

Honestly that does matter. If people knew about this before they should have brought it to the league’s attention before. We don’t go through and spot check everyone’s past updates, we trust that our updates are doing that as they go. So if you know there’s a massive breach of rules like this we need it brought to our attention.

Welcome to my hell. I’ll have 4 points a game for a week and then drop off to 0 for the next two weeks.

Kinda because I wonder what purpose it serves. Hiring and paying someone to sift through the PbP and make it interesting for an hour while how many people “watch”, maybe 10? If it’s a single game that means 2 teams, even 2 really active teams have maybe 10-12 players on them so that’s 20-24 players total who will be interested since people won’t care if it’s not their team. If you remove the ones that can’t watch because time zones fuck with them I’d imagine you have fewer than 10 members actually around for it. So at the end of the day we’d be paying someone to take a long time to do something (that anyone could read themselves) for 10 members. I don’t personally see the use of that. Maybe for like All-Star games or something which have a wider appeal but that’s about it. I don’t think for regular games there is a lot of point to it.

Honestly I’ve always enjoyed having daily sims in the VHL far more than having PbP. That’s kinda always been the case for me. I find in football sims and whatnot I don’t have the time in my day to sit down and read the entire thing anyway so it adds a ton of work for something that personally I don’t read which just means fewer sims. That’s why I like daily sims. Allows me to see usually 2 games per day for my player and I can check it quickly. Part of what has worked in the VHL’s favour for longevity is that our sims take basically no time. I think adding to that workload is setting ourselves up for failure. FWIW as much as I don’t care about them, STHS does provide full PbP in a sense at the bottom of the full game thread. We use prettier looking portal ones but you can get to the full ones and see the full thing if you wanted or we wanted to use them. To me it just isn’t worth it.

I gotta write about the WJC this week because otherwise I don’t get bonus points, so I’m gonna do that, but in my own fashion. I’m an old rambly man, I cant just talk about these youngin’s as if I fully know what’s going on with them. What do you take me for, the VHLM simmer or something? Anyway, back in my day we had the World Cup every 2nd off-season and that was about it. Also for awhile the VHLM was simmed as the actual farm system of the VHL so literally it was just 1 simmer doing everything. Was hard on them for sure but was the easy days comparatively for everyone else. Now though we have to try and keep things interesting at all times so we have tournaments and extra sims out the wazoo. The World Cup still runs but now the sponsor’s shield runs on years it doesn’t and the World Juniors run in the middle of every season. Plus the VHL and VHLM simming are separated. In some ways this is great, more games to look at, but in other ways it’s a nuissance. Notice how the WJC hasn’t started yet? That’s because we’re not sure where @Devise has gotten to since he’s our backup / extra stuff simmer. Normal sims also suffer a bit any time @Will has a busy week. Anyway, I’m rambling, let’s keep this focussed. I guess I wonder if having so many tournaments is a good way to burn simmers out faster. Having to constantly have sims running and changing lines and everything on a daily basis can become quite a lot eventually. On top of that, as we saw with the first Sponsor’s Shield, do people really pay that much attention? I don’t know. I love having the WC but it starts to feel like a lot eventually. Maybe I’m just a grumpy old man yelling at the kids to get off my lawn though. What are your thoughts? P.S I have faith in @Jubo07, he hasn’t lost an international tournament yet so I think Canada is gonna get the threepeat in the WJC whenever that takes place. P.P.S Since it takes so much work for @Beaviss to run the All-Star Game the way he had been I think we should go back to doing it in STHS but we should definitely bring it back. that’s a conversation for another time though.

Hey, VHLM has been done every day, it’s just a smidge random on the time I’m not sure what’s been going on with @Will lately that his schedule has been a bit wonky (I just simmed the VHL to keep it on track) and @Devise has gone AWOL right before the WJC but still.

Hasn’t been announced yet but we’re over halfway and it’s usually around the 3/4 mark.
