Of note as well we’ll likely do what we did last season as well and count blood donations as monetary ones in case people want to give that way instead of with cash. I don’t know if anyone did it last year but still, it’s nice to have the option and offers an extra bonus that’s always sorely needed this time of year. I also didn’t bring it up in there because it’s not the point yet but we’ll be running the charity auction and stretch goals again so as we’ve done the last two years people will be able to offer their services for a good cause which is always fun.

For you guys yes, as always. The issue is that those donations go into the league PayPal account which then gets donated as a mass sum. Since the league has no credit card associated with it having a charity that accepts PayPal donations is far easier. It isn’t a requirement but it definitely helps.

Hello @Members! As crazy as it seems the holiday season is nearly upon us which for the VHL means our annual charity drive! For those who haven’t been around, a quick recap: Every December in addition to Christmas festivities we hold a charity donation drive to help out communities beyond our own. This will be our fourth year doing the charity drive with previous drives donating thousands to the Make a Wish Foundation, Food Banks of Canada / Feed America, and the Red Cross. So why am I posting about this in early November? Because we want to involve you all in helping decide the charity for this year. As always you’ll be able to donate to any charity you wish and have it count but the league matching donation and any donated through us will go to the charity that’s chosen. In an ideal world that charity fits a couple of criteria so if you can try to keep them in mind for your suggestions that would be great: 1. Should be something that accepts PayPal donations since all league funds run through that. 2. Should be something with a wide reach and ideally international or at least having Canadian / American equivalents we can split donations between. 3. Nothing political or divisive. So let’s see what you can come up with! Feel free to also discuss your favourites in here if someone suggests something you feel strong about but try to keep it as on topic as possible. Here’s to the start of another VHL holiday season!

I mean strictly speaking anything too crazy that you want should be as well. So far the stuff you guys have been doing isn’t anything really Game breakingly huge so it’s kinda just been “go with the flow.” If you wanted to like expand it or fuck with the TPE caps or anything like that which have major impacts on the league as a whole you’d need to have a discussion on the matter. We’ll stop you if you ever fly too close to the sun don’t worry.

That’s always been a legal grey area we don’t want to touch. Considering donations could be construed as “buying TPE” (even a small amount) having it be able to be gambled could deem us a gambling site which would be super illegal with a lot of underage members. A lot of speculation there of course but yeah, not worth the risk.

Technically that was "third strike" despite them finding and punishing all three strikes at once without warning or clear rules. But also why you gotta bring that up.

Just to be clear this was more or less a “clerical error” type of situation. Proper records of past warnings were not kept and proper notification of appeal process was not made; that is why we reduced the punishment. It is not because we deemed the punishment itself unfair, simply that due process wasn’t correctly followed.

Hello VHL! As you are all aware the blue team has been running as just myself and @Josh for awhile now since @bigAL (RIP) stepped down from the position. This has been, on the whole, fine but we both agree that the blue team has historically ran best as a trio. Especially given that I just had my second kid and Josh is soon having his first having double baby brain with no extra assistance seems like a recipe for disaster which is why today we are announcing that the blue team is once again going to be three members. We would like to officially announce that @Acydburn will be leaving his post as VHLE commish and taking on the blue team mantel officially! That does, of course, leave a gap at the VHLE level. Fear not, we are not leaving @Enorama to run the place by himself so recently after taking on the role. Instead we are bringing @thadthrasher in as the official second VHLE commish. After just shaking up the VHLM last season it will mercifully stay the same and hopefully our full RGB teams can remain in place for a bit and continue to make improvements to their respective leagues. - @Commissioner

I just realized I’m retiring at the deadline…. Finally a new feature I get to use! Papa missed the VHLE and associated changes by a season and was a goalie so no hybrid attributes.

Nice to get the new robust system out and looking fresh, hopefully it can make the process a lot smoother and players can join teams that actually suit their needs rather than just the first team to pitch them. Also no more hashtags to accept contracts so that’s nice.

I don't believe he ever made a public post on the matter (silly boy) but @dlamb has decided to step down from the GM position of the Warsaw Predators which leaves us of course with the ever popular opening for a VHL GM position. The league, of course, would like to thank lamb for his time behind the bench for the Preds. If you are interested in the openings, please post in this thread. Please do not contact the Commissioners outside of this thread, we will reach out to the chosen candidates privately. ***Please refrain from making comments regarding any candidates and their "worthiness" of being hired for this job, positive or negative.
