It’s honestly not even THAT much work if it was handled like the old seasons. It only added a bunch of organizational mess when we started having each team guarantee a player (which then resulted in GM’s intentionally picking someone less deserving to guarantee they get in) and then had drafts and outside sims and everything else. I would love to add a very simple NA vs. EU All-Star Game again. The issue is two-fold. First, as you kinda alluded to, can we trust the voting process? We’ve repeatedly seen public votes turn into not only popularity contests but also intentionally voting less deserving by members for the memes. Second there’s the issue of just absolutely constant sims. Back when the ASG ran the only sims we had outside of the seasonal ones were the WC every 2 seasons. Now we not only have that but also the WJC and Junior Showcase every season and those are full on tournaments, not just single games like the ASG was. It’s just a lot of sims that already make them basically never ending so adding even more is just adding even more simming strain on top of things.

I mean sorta but the idea would be more of how an all-star team would actually be logically built so maybe we go back to the EU vs. NA instead of the free for all ones or whatever. It’s pretty open ended honestly; we aren’t that picky.

Everyone’s favourite week (aside from the blues) since you all get that sweet extra TPE. Of course, that also means that the Trade Deadline is Monday, February 5th at 3pm EST. This also means that anyone wishing to re-create for the S94 draft can do so starting at midnight that same day. --- Trade deadlines are boring though, you wanna know about theme week don’t you? The theme for S92 is: No I do not mean the absolute banger of a song by Smash Mouth but rather the all-star game, or our lack thereforeof. Maybe you want a case for it to return, maybe you just want to talk about who would be involved in it; honestly it's up to you but make it on theme and you're good to go. To earn your Theme Week TPE, write an article, create a graphic, or record a podcast with some connection to “All-Star”. --- In order to claim the theme week bonus of 6 Uncapped TPE, simply submit your Themed PT (Graphic, Media Spot, or 6-TPE Podcast), and claim it as normal. After claiming the PT portion, you can use the same link, and claim the uncapped portion as follows: Claim Uncapped > Other > Doubles Week. (Note: you do not need to post your link in this thread to claim either portion of TPE). If you have already submitted a Point Task for this week, or are in the midst of claiming a multi-week Media Spot/Podcast, you may still submit a Theme Week PT this week, and claim the capped portion on the next available week, following your multi-week claim. And no, posting something last week that happens to relate to the theme this week doesn’t grant you the theme week bonus. Also, if you have a single job that pays 6+, you may claim the theme week bonus as long as you complete your duties for the week. If you are in the SBA and have completed their most recent Media Week, you may use that to claim the Uncapped theme week bonus, but a PT must be completed this week in order to claim the Capped portion, whether that is completed here or through Affiliate Welfare. Can’t say it has ever come up. We would probably assign a certain limit to when it needs to be applied by but if it’s relatively soon it would probably be fine even if it’s a new player.

FWIW as well the raffle is ultimately something separate from the charity drive. Aside from people who donated getting a bonus entry the two aren’t connected. Holiday themed giveaways and stuff existed lo no before the charity drive did. It’s just easier to lump all the holiday stuff together to we in one announcement.

Tbh I don’t even remember there being a word filter for traded but I believe it existed. If anything there are probably actually more of them these days, they just aren’t things that often get mentioned.

I’m sorry but where is it written that only content that generates TPE counts as valid content? I don’t often agree with your hot takes but this may be one of the worst ones. Like I get that you don’t agree with how much welfare earns vs. PT’s; that’s a fine enough argument, but the fight to get people interested in producing genuine content without payment is hard enough without people throwing out the mindset that VHL content is worthless if you aren’t doing PT’s. Like do you understand how great it is to see new guys like @Chillybro in the sim streams for me every night? I literally have never looked at whether he’s done a PT or not, ai don’t care. He’s active, he’s engaged, and he’s enjoying himself. That’s what matters! Again HARD disagree. The raffles are done as a way to give back to the members and that means ALL the members, not just those that are well off enough to give some extra money. Now those who donated DO get rewarded with extra entries but I have absolutely no interest in making it exclusive to them. Any active members deserve a chance to win something; you shouldn’t have to pay for that chance even if it’s for charity.

Strictly speaking that’s only an issue with tier 4 anyway. 1 and 2 are VHL exclusive and tier 3 we could (and prefer honestly) do a digital game. Tier 4 well… you can always take Tier 3.

Second “fuck it” of the topic but we have a lot of new members since the holiday events and I can do what I want so here’s what’s gonna happen: Any member that joined after Christmas Day and comments in this thread before noon (EST) on Sunday will get 1 entry into each of the 4 tiers! This way the new members potentially get to be involved in the raffle as well. @VHLM Commissioner and @VHLM GM if you guys could make your new people aware that would be great.
