SPOOKY REAPERS PRESS CONFERENCE, WEEK OF NOV. 3 Welcome back to another week of Reapers hockey, fellas! Here's to a good week of sims and to a good six questions from the media. Answer all six for 2 TPE and answer three for 1 TPE. Let's #ReapEm this week, y'all! Also, happy Halloween! Philadelphia is the second best team in the league. How does that impact the energy in the team? You play the No. 1 Ottawa Lynx next, what's the game plan for hard opponents? Do you have a morning routine you follow as a professional hockey player? What is it like? How are you planning on celebrating Halloween? What's your favorite Halloween costume you've ever worn? A bit of a lighter question to finish the conference out: pumpkin pie or apple pie or neither? Why?

Babydeer lack of scoring is “not according to plan” 10 games into the season, the Halifax forward has not tallied a goal yet. HALIFAX –– After 10 games into the season, Halifax 21st forward John Babydeer is having a slower than expected start. Babydeer tallied 4 assists and no goals to start the season, a number that is lower than he anticipated. Babydeer, 21, started his hockey career in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he played for his local semi-professional team. He finished top 3 in scoring before declaring for the Victory Hockey League Minors draft. Babydeer was selected No. 21 overall in the draft, being ranked No. 7 in all right wings declaring for the draft. From the start, Babydeer had something to prove, being a third round selection. Just recently in the 21st’s game against visiting Mississauga, Babydeer recorded his 4th assist on the year through setting up a Hater Tottingham goal. Halifax would lose that game 3-1 to the Hounds. “It’s been a slow start for me [this year],” Babydeer said after the loss. “With every game I play, I get stronger and faster…a goal is bound to come sooner than later.” With improvement being seen every day from the Halifax forward, statistical improvement is bound to follow. Babydeer’s work in practice has been noticed by everybody; local media and management alike. “His work on and off the ice is not to be discredited,” 21st general manager LucyXpher said in a recent press conference. “He will see [his] goals sooner than later, he has it in him to kick some serious butt in the upcoming games. We believe in him.” Babydeer started the year on the first line, getting playing time on the highest level. As the season progressed, he was then demoted to third line play. A move dictated by his lack of offensive production and the team’s 3-7-0 start to the season. Babydeer looks to work his way back up to the top of the lineups, putting more time and energy into his scoring and skating capabilities. Every week he works on a balance of skills that he says translates into “plentiful scoring.” “My practices are long and hard every week for a reason, you know,” Babydeer said. “I train every week for hours in order to make my mark on this team. It means more to me seeing the boys succeed.” The season still has a long way to go for Babydeer and the 21st. They have 62 more games to play in the regular season. Halifax is currently ranked last in the Eastern Conference, being 12 points away from the top of the conference. They sit at No. 9 in the league wide standings. Halifax plays San Diego at home for game 53 and at Philadelphia for game 58 tonight. The 21st look to get back in the win column for the first time in three games. The Reapers sit at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference with a record of 5-5-0, the Marlins sit at the top of the Western Conference with a record of 7-3-0. If the 21st beats both teams, they will have a chance to fall a spot in the conference standings. Babydeer looks to be a winning factor tonight, starting on the third line for Halifax. “I’m ready to go,” Babydeer said to the media this morning. “The [teams] are always a tough challenge…we have what it takes as a team to get things done…and for me to get in the goal column.” Game times have not been announced yet for the two matchups. Press Conference Oct. 7 Hello all new and returning Reapers, I'm your new assistant general manager Bobo. This is my formal welcome to you all and a sort of welcome back to a managerial role. I'm a professional beat writer in real life covering the St. Louis Blues, freelance designer and a guy who loves music and making the locker room that much more fun. Here's your weekly set of questions: Reflect upon your experience being drafted this Sunday. How has being a Reaper treated you so far? Icebreaker: What's the soundtrack to your life and why? Philadelphia has just won a championship. Is the energy different in camp and practices? Give me your thoughts on the Philly cheesesteaks. Newcomers, thoughts? Do you expect your player to breakout this season? If new, do you expect a strong start? Tell me about your favorite moment in sports or with hockey. Thank you and remember, answer all six for two TPE and answer three for one TPE. Have a great week, Reaps! #ReapEm

REVIEW: Very nice composition with this graphic. I like the effective use of colors creating a connection with the player and the background. It's a little busy with the textures in the background and the second (smaller player on the right) subject in the foreground clashes with the lines. I do like the edits done on the main subject to make the facial features pop, nice work done there. The text is okay, not too fond of the font choice but I can look around it. Not too bad overall. 6.8/10

REVIEW: For starters, your text should be in the "automatic" color and not black. Apart from that simple style error, the content is engaging and the writing quality is good. Some sentences run on for too long and there are minor syntax errors here and there. Those errors however are minor. Nice play on the "Riga Troll" as a descriptor for the Reign's success against HC Davos. Good piece overall. 7.8/10

John Babydeer looks forward to VHLM Draft The Jackson Hole, WY. forward looks ahead to the next step in his career Jackson Hole right wing John Babydeer talks to the press ahead of the 96th annual VHLM Dispersal Draft. This is his first press appearance as a prospect in the draft. Babydeer is the seventh ranked right wing in the draft class, coming off of a successful prior season with the Jackson Hole Moose. He amassed 32 goals and 74 points in 32 games played, being the second-highest scorer for the Moose. “I’m excited for this new chapter in my career to start,” Babydeer said. “It’s an opportunity that I won’t let go for granted, [whichever] team picks me up I’ll make sure they won’t regret their decision.” Babydeer is the first in his hockey loving family to go professional, following in the footsteps of his father Joseph Babydeer who coached for the Moose. He coached the team for 12 seasons, leading Jackson Hole to two league titles. “My father is a huge part of who I am on and off the ice,” Babydeer said. “[He] made me the player I am today, coaching me in every level of my play. He’s my hero.” There has not been a determined date for the VHLM draft. The Moose begin their play on Oct. 18 on the road against the Powell River Regals. - Bobo
