  2. The Future Of Yukon The Yukon Rush, a team with very solid goaltending, yet lacking in scoring or defensive depth. A team that has a bright future, and a potential to be a top team in the VHLM...in a few seasons. From what we know, they seem to have a good chance at a big name player in the S73 Entry Draft, being projected to pick at around 3rd overall in the first round. This article will be focusing on the future of Yukon, and what they can do to become a solid contender for the cup. Defense We start at the root of the problem; the defense. They have some solid prospects for defense, such as Fat Palloon, Bean Bagel, and more, yet they still don't have any defensemen that are solid right now. While Palloon's size allows him to be a great defensive defenceman, they need somebody helping him out. They should make a move in the draft to get a solid first pair defenseman to back up Palloon. Maybe an offensive d, or another big body defensive d. They could also make moves this offseason. This goes for offense, too. Any defensive, or passing defenseman they can find will really benefit the team. It will also benefit offense. Having a good passer could lead to some big goals and wins for Yukon, and even a deep playoff run! Wouldn't that be something, a deep Yukon playoff run. Offense Without proper offense, a team cannot win games, make a playoff push, and eventually, win the cup. It's just not possible. Defensemen such as Fat Palloon and Bean Bagel are trying their hardest to contribute to the offense in form of assists and the occasional goals, but that is the offense's job, not the defense's. What Yukon needs to do is they need to draft a top tier goal scorer, almost more than a defenseman. The reason they don't score goals, and why they are 3rd last in the VHLM, is due to the lack of scoring depth in Yukon. In order to be a team, you need balance between defense and offense, and Yukon just hasn't found that yet. Goaltending isn't an issue. Your goalie is the best player on your team! Your best player should be somebody netting goals for you, or blocking shots on the blue line, not a goalie! When you get scoring depth, I believe that this team can be a true contender! Tag @VHLM GM
