With the draft day looming in the near future, my client has received multiple draft interviews with interest in drafting Lose. Of course I want only the best for my clients. He gave me some draft day teams that he thinks would be the best fit for him. Obviously he can fit anywhere, but he wanted to show his interest to these GMs. Philadelphia Reapers "I had to put the Reapers on this list because of my season with them. They were the only team to offer me a contract when I first joined and I would love to stay loyal to them until I make it to the VHL. When I was on the 2nd line I felt that I was given the opportunity to score and shine. I felt that they gave me the chance and I ran with it. I grew a lot with the Reapers." Yukon Rush "They have a few big names that are going to be moving up to the VHL next season. I think I could possibly be an offensive threat for them to make another deep playoff push like they are doing now. Their coaching staff is doing an amazing job growing these players too." Houston Bulls "Houston is the wild card here. I think they have a young core and I could fit in nicely there. My only concern is that their goalies would be brought up to the VHL. I don't know much about the culture at Houston, but I feel like they could be a threat next season if their core grows." "I'm honestly so excited to be drafted in the VHLM. I feel that I grew a lot in one season and I'm hoping GMs will take notice to this. I want to be one of the top offensive players in the league this season and it all starts at the draft!" - Justin Lose

1. It sucks that we lost out. I feel like we battled hard at the end and just came up short. Of course that only motivates me to do better next season. 2. Making the jump from Junior level was a bit intimidating. I feel like I really clicked offensively towards the end of the season. Overall I think I did okay in the short time on the Reapers. 3. I would love to stay with the Reapers. Unfortunately I was a waiver pickup so I'm going to the VHLM draft. 4. I'm going to devour a whole pizza and not regret it at all. 5. I just got a thank you card from a few fans. I really appreciate their generosity. 6. Well that's tough. I'm going to find a good food source and get some weapons. Probably move south so I don't have to deal with winters up north. -
Welcome back to Meet the Crew. With the VHLM playoffs on right now and the Philadelphia Reapers unfortunately unable to make it in, the 1 year contract for Justin Lose is up. After his exit interview at the locker cleanout day, I wanted to get an interview there to get the raw emotion of failing to make it. Lose denied the interview but did reschedule it to a later date. Today is that day! I'm sitting with Justin Lose, the newest draft eligible player! Interviewer: Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me again. I'm so sorry you didn't want to speak that first day. Lose: Thank you. I'm glad you were able to respect my request. I was happy to reschedule. Today is a much better day mentally for me. I: That's good to hear. I'd say you had a great year with the Reapers even if you didn't make playoffs! You ended the year with 34 games played and 8 goals - 11 assists for 19 points. That seems good for a shortened run. L: Thanks. I'll be honest it was a slow ride. I didn't really adjust to the pro level until a few games. I was even benched two games for not having the right mindset at the start of my season. My teammates were already used to each other so coming in cold wasn't the best way to start the season. The coach decided to have me sit out and begin communicating with my teammates before slotting me into the lineup. I: What was the transition from Junior to Pro like? L: Junior is just kids who want to break it into the big league and get drafted. Being pro, in my case the VHLM, is a faster pace game that people are trying to impress their coach enough to be brought up into the VHL. The Reaper coaching staff also did an outstanding job of really allowing me to grow into my position and giving me a lot of pointers. I even moved up to the 2nd line because they though I had so much potential! I: How did it feel to finally get that first point? L: Well it was incredible. It was a few games in and I was scoreless. Finally getting a point really gave me confidence. Once the ball gets rolling it snowballs fast. I: During one of the press conferences you were one of the reporter questions, having a .88 point per game average. How did that make you feel? L: That felt like hard work was finally paying off. I wanted to prove to the Reaper coaching staff that they didn't make a mistake in signing me late in the season. This was my way of saying thanks and finally achieving that goal they were setting for me. I: Let's get to the serious question. I know you already talked about not making the playoffs to the media on your exit interview, but how do you feel a few days out? L: It still sucks. Knowing we worked so hard but only got 3 points out did sting. Of course Miami is a great team and they are really holding their own against Halifax. At the end of the day you have to take a break from yourself and become a hockey fan again. Right now I have to cheer for the underdogs in Miami. I: At the time of this recording they are down in the series 2-3 against Halifax. One final question. With your rookie season down, where is Justin Lose going next? L: Well I honestly don't know. The draft will decide where I am going. I'd love to stay with the Reapers as I feel we really grew as a team and got into a groove towards the end. Where ever I end up I want to prove that I belong in the VHLM and get good enough to a high draft pick in the VHL draft! I: That is a big challenge for you! I wish you good luck to your journey and hopefully one day I will be interviewing you while you are the cup champion. L: Thank you! I hope that comes true one day. I'm not going to stop until I get one.

Background: Justin Lose (18 years old) is a 5' 10" 160lbs RW for the Philadelphia Reapers as a waiver pickup. Joining mid season Lose slowly adapted to the professional level. Lose was an offense powerhouse in the Junior league and is looking to translate that into the VHLM. He is now meshing well with his team being on the second line with Thomas King and John Callahan Jr including powerplay time. He started his season slow with limited scoring and shooting. Currently he has found his stride and is now producing points in big moments. You would be drafting a motivated player who wants to grow every week. Final Stat Line: 34 GP - 8 Goals - 11 Assists - 19 Points - +1 Team: The Philadelphia Reapers failed to make the playoffs by 3 points. Star Moment: Game 348 - First star with 1 - 1 - 2 points vs. Houston Bulls Comparison: Want: Nikita Kucherov - Elite scoring Actual: Cam Atkinson - Consistent production Avoid: Cal Clutterbuck - Physical focused Scout: "A solid right winger with a nose for the net, he can play the puck well, be physical if needed, and could be a dangerous presence on the rush. Considering his attributes, he plays like Cam Atkinson." - Darius Marimoto Strengths: Scoring - After the slow start, Lose worked with the coaches and teammates on Philadelphia and finally clicked. He picks his spots and goes for quality over quantity in shots. Not afraid to join a rush or a pinch down low. Passing - Unselfish passing in crucial moments in games. Has the ability to find teammates and have accurately go tape to tape. Defense - Wants to be effective on both sides of the ice. Can react to developing plays and cover for defensemen if needed. Weakness: Fighting - Small frame makes him an easy target to throw around. He avoids fights at all costs. Checking - Same with fighting, he needs to add more muscle to throw the body more. Can throw the body in certain situations if needed. Strength - Easily overpowered when flanked by opponents. Needs to keep head up and stay on his feet or avoid checks. Player Comment: "I want to be a team player on the ice. I could mesh well with any team. I'm unselfish and can score in important chances. I work hard every week and show up to practice on time. My dream is to be a top goal scorer in the VHL." - Justin Lose Overall: A well rounded player who want their team to win games. Motivated and growing every week. Can fit on 2nd or 3rd lines where needed and perfect for powerplay lines too. Wants to transition into the 1st line role. Meshes well with teammates and builds chemistry.

The Philadelphia Reapers have missed the playoffs in season 74 of the VHLM. With the Miami Marauders getting 3 of the last 3 games with a record of 32 - 38 - 2 for 66 points. Even though it was impossible for the Reapers to get the spot, they fought hard going 1-1 in their final 2 games for a record of 28-37-7 for 63 points. Here are some reactions from players in the Reapers locker room and a mini interview with Darius Marimoto. "It's tough when you put everything out on the ice and you come up short to playoffs like that. I wanted to win and help the Reapers but I guess I have to direct my attention to the draft now. If this is my last game with the Reapers I enjoyed every second of it. Being the first team to sign me really gave me a boost in my confidence. I can't wait to get on the ice next season!" - Justin Lose - RW "I have to say congrats to Miami it was hard fought battle. It sucks we didn't make it into the playoffs this year, but I'm confident in this team. Next year is Phillys year." - Carson Walkers - RW "Obviously it sucks not making the playoffs. I feel that our team was really coming together at the end of the season. Less than half our roster played the entire season. We got much stronger once we signed new players and filled out our roster. Although our place in the standings might not be considered a success, I think the season was successful because we uncovered new talent I expect to be stars in the future. I can’t thank the players enough for all their effort and hard work. I hope we’re able to get some of them back in a Reapers uniform next season." - DMaximus - GM of the Philadelphia Reapers Interview I'm now joined with Darius Marimoto. Thank you so much for your time as you are clearing out your locker. I know its heartbreaking to have your season cut short, but... How do you feel about missing the playoffs? "Well, I wouldn't think too much of this season, and more of the seasons to follow. But, we need to learn on our mistakes and use that as a foundation for our focuses next season. That's the bottom line, no silver lining, no candy coating." Amazing stuff Darius. Speaking of next season... Do you feel ready to make the jump to the VHL after spending 3 seasons in the VHLM? "I wouldn't say I'm 100 percent until I hit 250 TPE. I want to make sure that my game is polished and ready for the pressure of the VHL. Next season, I feel like I will be ready to take that next step though." Thank you for the honest answer Darius. I won't keep you any longer. I appreciate your time and good luck in the future. "Thank you for hosting this interview." - Darius Marimoto As I was leaving the locker room I felt the disappointment and down mood amongst the players and coaches. It's a tough pill to swallow that all your work in the season doesn't get you into the playoffs. Hopefully this will be a driving motivation to get back to the playoffs next season! [Thank you to DMaximus, Darius, and Carson for statements on discord. I appreciate it!] @DMaximus @dariusmarimotoman @Cwalker

The VHLM season is coming to the end with only a handful of games left. There is one spot that is still being contested. Philadelphia Reapers and Miami Marauders are fighting for the last spot in their conference. Let's take a deep dive in how these teams got here and what needs to happen for both teams! Philadelphia Reapers - 70 GP - 27 - 36 - 7 - 61 Points Overview The Reapers hold the final spot in the Eastern conference. With 27 wins on the years with 61 points, they hold a 1 point lead over the Marauders. In a head to head battle with the Marauders the Reapers are 3-4-1. In the last 10 games for the Reapers they went 6-4-0. Leaders Their starting goalie, Jacob Carson [70 GP - 27 - 36 - 7] has a .885 save% and a 2.97 GAA. Darius Marimoto is the leader in points with 70 in 70GP and Carson Walkers is the leader in goals with 32 in 70GP. Final Games The final two games for the Reapers are against the Ottawa Lynx and The Mississauga Hounds. Versus the Lynx the Reapers are 2-5-0. The Lynx are currently 3rd in the East with 76 points. They can neither move up nor down with a W or L against the Reapers. Versus the Hounds the Reapers are 2-4-1. The Hounds are currently in 2nd in the East with 107 points. They can neither move up nor down with a W or L against the Reapers. Clinching Scenario Two incredibly difficult hills to climb for the Reapers to make it to the playoffs. The Reapers max points are 65 and min is 61 points. The Reapers have less ROW wins compared to the Marauders so they have to beat them in points to clinch. Miami Marauders - 69 GP - 29 - 38 - 2 - 60 Points Overview Hunting for the final spot is the Miami Marauders. They are currently sitting 1 point out of playoffs with 60 compared to the Reapers 61. They do have one game in hand compared to the Reapers. In the last 10 games the Marauders are 4-5-1. Leaders Their starting goalie, Rara Rasputin [64 GP - 28 - 34 - 2] has a .878 save% and a 3.25 GAA. Eoin Byrne leads the point total with 77 in 69 GP. Peter Louis II and Chicken Wing both lead the team in goals with 28 in 69 GP. Final Games Miami has 3 games left in the season. They are up against Minnesota Storm, San Diego Marlins and the Saskatoon Wild. Against the Minnesota Storm the Marauders are 5-2-0. Minnesota is last in the East and can't move up with only 35 points. Against the San Diego Marlins the Marauders are 4-0-0. The Marlins are last in the West and can't move up with only 23 points. Against the Saskatoon Wild the Marauders are 2-2-0. The Wild are 3rd in the West and can't move up or down with a W or L against the Marauders. Clinching Scenario The Marauders have an easier schedule compared to the Reapers, but with 3 games to play, stranger things have happened. Marauders have the ROW advantage so they don't have to win all 3 to make it. The Marauders max point total is 66 and min is 60. The Marauders can clinch a playoff spot if, the Reapers win 2 but the Marauders get 2 wins / the Reapers lose both games and Marauders win 1. Final Thoughts Playoff hockey is the toughest of any sport. It also brings out the best in everyone to grind to the cup. The Reapers and Marauders are both going to go out and lay everything out to win their spot into the playoffs. In an unbiased opinion I would say the Miami Marauders have the best chance to get into the playoffs based on the final 3 teams they are facing. Two of the worst records in the VHLM and a team with nothing to lose. The Reapers have a rough road ahead of them if they want to make it to the playoffs! Tune in to the final games to see who makes it to the big dance.

1. We have been working hard all year. I believe we can squeak by and make it to the playoffs. 2. It must be the fact that our forwards are covering them on d when they pinch. I have a lot of respect that they can keep the puck out of our net and put it in the opponents. 3. Oh hey! That's me! I've been working hard with the coaching staff and trainers to really improve my shot. I'm currently working on skating so I can break free from everyone and hopefully get some breakaway goals 4. Obviously home games are amazing. The atmosphere of getting a goal or winning the game is incredible. Shout out to all the Reaper fans! 5. Oh man this is a tough one. I would honestly love to break some old tvs. Just get all my anger out and smash a tv screen. 6. Milky Way all day. Anything else is F tier candy. Fight me -

Chasing Greatness - Justin Lose

Thanks for the tips. I definitely wanted to do something simple and not overly complicated nor complex. I will try to include some of the suggestions you put. I do agree it was lacking that final touch. I use paint.net, so I don't have the professional tools like photoshop. 7.5 for something I didn't have 100% confidence in when looking at other way better photos here is a real uplift! Thanks again for the review and suggestions. -
Here is my second ever edit. I tried to do something artistic even though I have no creativity nor style. I'd love some criticisms and tips to improve in the future. Thanks!

1. The roster looks good. We are all growing and active! 2. I feel like it is fair. We all have to work hard for our spot and make our time on the ice count. 3. He is taking smart shots. Of course growing up you always hear, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take" but not all shots are prime scoring chances they he has. 4. Its amazing how many blocked shots he has. He has guts to stand in front of those shots. I don't think I have the courage to block that many shots! 5. I try to keep all my attention on the VHLM and focus on our games. Until our season is over I will 100% be devoted to our team. 6. Nikita Kucherov. He puts up insane numbers every year and I'd love to learn from the best to grow in the RW position. -

1. Obviously don't step on the logo on the floor. 2. Since I'm one of the newer players on the roster, I hope I'm not being a pain at practice. I hope I am bringing in confidence for the future. 3. We have a wall in net, so that really helps. Everyone is chipping in with their defensive abilities to achieve a shutout. Of course the biggest piece of the puzzle is Jacob. 4. We are a physical team that can wear you down in the long run. We will step up to any problem in games too. 5. With a physical game you might take some bad penalties in return. I would say think 2 steps ahead before a play develops. Obviously you want to throw the body or defend the net, but that is why it is a team game and have teammates help with certain situations. 6. I feel like an amusement park would be an interesting venue for hockey. That way it would attract casual sports fans and also could be a great play to unwind after the game! -
This week on Meet The Crew I sat down with the newest member of the league, Justin Lose. He is one of the up and coming talents that are looking to break into the lineups and dominate the league. Let's get started with the newest player. Interviewer: Welcome! Thank you so much for accepting the offer for your first interview in the league. Lose: Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate it and I'm very excited to finally talk about everything.\ I: Let's get started then. I'll start off easy. How did you get into the sport of hockey growing up? L: Well I started out young. I never cared for football or soccer. My parents wanted me out of the house and to have friends since I wasn't social at school. They actually won tickets to see a VHL game and I was instantly hooked! I: That's amazing. I saw your junior report, it says that you were basically bullied in peewee hockey? L: My coach was very tough on me. I said I wanted to the best player in the world and they laughed at me. It was a hit on my ego at the time. I didn't let that stop me though. Once I was out of peewee and joined the school hockey team it was a lot better. Juniors was the best in my pro career right now. I: Do you feel like you proved yourself in juniors and do you think you can fill those same shoes in the VHL? L: My sophomore year in junior was the best year of my life. I felt on top of the world and I felt like I proved that I belonged when I scored that game seven overtime goal. My old peewee coach was at that game too. I think he wanted me to lose again. As for the VHL its tough. You always stride to be the best player on the ice and to do that you have to work hard. I know it's not going to be easy and I'm ready for the challenge. I: You recently signed a contract with The Philadelphia Reapers. How did that feel? Contract: 1 year - $1,500,000.00 L: It felt great. I can't wait to finally get on the ice and prove that they made the right choice in picking me. The VHLM is tough and I can't wait to get to play a professional level game of hockey! I: That first pay check must be amazing. What are you going to do with it? L: I honestly don't know. I didn't think about that. [Both laugh]. I'll probably absent mindedly buy food or something dumb like that without thinking about it. I: Is it hockey 24/7 for you? L: Obviously I take all my hockey games and practices seriously, but on off days I usually relax and not think about hockey. I enjoy video games and cooking. Nothing better than a victory and playing some video games the next day with friends. I: One final question. With a last name like Lose, do you feel like people overlook you and pick on you? L: Honestly I don't mind the name calling and jokes about my last name. I'm so used to it and I've heard every joke imaginable. People always overlook me. In gym at school I'm always picked last, never get called on or have any close friends. The only friends I have are from hockey. They don't overlook me. They realize the potential I have. My peewee coach was my toughest critic and today I'm ready to start a game in the VHLM. Who is laughing now? I: Inspiring stuff Justin. Thank you so much for your time and I wish you the best of luck in the season. L: Thank you for the chance to talk. No one has interviewed me like this before. I can't wait to start! There you have it. Justin Lose is ready to prove to the world that he isn't a Loser. With a one year contract with Philadelphia, he is determined to jumpstart his career. We will follow up with Justin Lose after his first year in the VHLM!

Growing up Justin Lose was always bullied. He never fit in with the crowd at school even though he was in the juniors. The only people who respected him was his teammates. He ignored everyone and was laser focused when he got on the ice. Although he never got superstar minutes, he did produce. Lose was the alternate captain of the team after the 2nd season with his junior squad. USA was not the best place for Lose to grow in hockey, so his parents decided to bring him up north of the border and play in one of the Canadian junior leagues. His coaches in peewee in the US said he would never turn into anything and always had him on the bottom pairing. He kept getting switched from RW to LW to C and back because he didn't trust Lose. It took a while to adjust to the faster pace game in Canada, but in his rookie season he put up respectable numbers [20-20-40 - 60GP] and silencing the haters. His sophomore year was even better and he was gelling with his teammates [40-50-90 - 75GP]. He was a diamond in the rough. In the playoffs Lose was a beast. Putting up 5-10-15 points in 12 games en-route to being swept in the finals in his rookie season. His sophomore year was a championship year when he finally won the cup 4-3 with 10-20-30 points in 23 games! In game seven he was the hero to finally bring home the cup when he scored the 3OT winner. Lose was ready for the next step. He wanted to go into the VHL. To get there though, he would have to grind and work as hard as he could. Of course that's what every young kid says when they go for the big leagues. Lose is different. His determination and drive will carry him to the VHL and become a household name. First up in his road to the VHL, VHLM.

1. I feel like we are in a good spot. I'm new to the team but I feel like we can get it done and lock down the playoff spot. 2. I'm feeling great. Just went to the gym and ready to go! 3. I need to improve my game to be offensively sound in the attacking zone and defensive in our zone. 4. This is a real changing of the guard. Hopefully great things will come from this. 5. I wouldn't change anything. Everything seems to be a well oiled machine already. 6. I have to agree with some of my other teammates and eject the GM for the team building role. -
Fear the Reaper. I'm dumb and didn't fully read the last line.
