In an attempt to increase his draft stock, Henry Tucker has requested his agent, me, @NotSoGood88, to write a Junior Review. So, here goes.
Henry Tucker was born in the town of Auburn, Alabama. His father owned a wing joint, and he briefly thought of owning it, but decided to focus on sports. Henry tried football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and baseball, but quit for separate reasons. Golf, baseball, and tennis were terribly boring, Henry found that he sucked at soccer, and liked football and basketball, but, with pro aspirations, found it difficult to stand out in Auburn, where football and basketball players are everywhere. Because there was very little competition, Henry turned to hockey. At age 9, he went to the rink in Columbus, Georgia 5 days a week, and honed his all around skills with his best friend, Harrison Meyer. However, at age 12, Harrison was no longer a good enough coach, and Henry tried out for the nearest travel hockey team, the Glenwood Goofballs. He made the team, and learned exceptionally quickly. By 13, he was the star of the team, and by 14, scouts were getting interested in him. At age 15, he moved to the Goofballs main squad and signed a contract that paid $12 a week. However, his contact turned out to be a problem, since he had to honor his contract through Glenwood's season. When he finished, he immediately signed with the Miami Marauders and got to work. As a 4th liner at just 16, he played 13 games and recorded 0 goals on 6 shots, one assist, 12 penalty minutes, and 13 hits. Though the playoffs are still going on for Miami, Tucker has 4 penalty minutes and 7 hits in 6 games. The right winger is 21st in the Season 76 Pre Draft Rankings (out of 31), and is ranked 5th out of 6 RWers. His life is best represented by a timeline.
Age 0: Born (Duh) in Auburn, Alabama
Ages 1-4: Lives a normal, unspectacular life of a toddler.
Age 5: Decides that he will be a professional sports player when he grows up. Plays rec soccer but plays so terribly that he ultimately quits at the end of the season. His parents say that he recorded 1 goal and 3 assists in 9 games.
Age 6: Takes 6 golf lessons and quits after he finds it terribly boring. The only stat anybody knows is that 58.7% of his shots ended up in a hazard, and that he 6-putted 42.5% of the time. Also, Henry tries out baseball, but, after hitting .164 with 1 home run, he, again, retires.
Age 7: Tries out rec tennis, but quits after the season. He was reportedly 6-27 in his matches. He also tries out rec football, but after catching 1 pass for 2 yards in 11 targets over the season, he retires.
Age 8: Henry tears his ACL, and takes a year off to recover and begin looking around for other sports. Only hockey interests him, and he begins working at his fathers wing joint, preparing wings for $2 an hour to save up for lessons, travel hockey, etc.
Age 9: Henry begins training at the Columbus rink with his friend, Harrison. After a food poisoning outbreak at the wing joint, Henry is fired, gets educated on wing-making, and gets reinstated at $3 and hour.
Age 10: Henry learns how to skate effectively, and begins training on his face offs and checking, among other things. He makes the honor roll for the first time, and his speed greatly increases with Harrison.
Age 11: Henry finishes up his training with Harrison, makes the honor roll again, and gets a raise at his wings place to $5 an hour. Henry searches for a nearby travel hockey team and finds the Glenwood Goofballs, whose logo is inspired by the Harlem Globetrotters.
Age 12: Henry makes the Glenwood U13 squad and plays 28 of 30 games, working his way from a depth role to a 1st liner. He scores 9 goals and 11 assists for 20 points. He also wracks up 46 hits. He gets a raise to $5.50 an hour at the wings place, and makes the honor roll again.
Age 13: Rather than staying with the U13s (now U14s), he transfers up to the U15s, and is immediately a starter, and in 30 games, scores 19 goals and 17 assists for 36 points. Local scouts become interested, and Henry gets a raise to $7 an hour. He quits school, knowing that greatness awaits. He records 52 hits and wins League MVP and Rookie of the Year.
Age 14: Henry transfers to the main team, starting as a 2nd liner, and in 57 of 60 games, he scores 11 goals and records 32 assists for 43 points, along with 79 hits. People become very interested in him, and the Miami Marauders express interest. After winning Rookie of the Year, Henry gets a 2 season, $15,000 contract that expires on his 16th birthday.
Age 15: Henry shines in his final season, and as a starter, he plays all 60 games and scores 36 goals and 41 assists for 77 points. He wins MVP and Breakout Player of the Year. After their season finishes, he signs a 1-year, $1,500,000 contract with the Miami Marauders.
Age 16: Henry appears in 13 regular season games for Miami, as a 4th liner, missing 6 shots and recording 1 assists. He adds 12 penalty minutes and 13 hits, and has a -7 +/-. In 7 playoff games, he records 4 penalty minutes and 7 hits. His +/- is -5. He declares for the Season 74 VHL Draft and is 21st out of 31 overall and 5th out of 6 right wingers.
