    1. Sometimes a change of scenery in a locker room and new faces on the team can make all the difference.

    2. Sometimes a player needs a new horizon. So that's what Nezuko found with the Wolves. A new message to bring.

    3. The MVP is an honorable title when a player leads by example and that's all Nezuko does! I agree with that.

    4. I know the two young men here well. We were all on the road to Rome. We were able to show interest in the wolves and here we are. I am confident in them. I hope I don't disappoint in the net.

    5. Even though Fuhr is excelling right now, I think we should give him a break. Too much use of a goalkeeper can sometimes be the end of a good climb

    6. I don't know who?

    Captain Announcement
Welcome to a new season as the Vancouver Wolves look to repeat as Continental Cup champions. As always, the long off season officially comes to an end when the Management group gives the kiss of death to another group of players as they name the teams leadership group. With Former Captain Nico Pearce @Spartan traded to Moscow, Assistant Captains in Alex Leduc @Lemorse7 shipped to New York and Biggie Cheese @a_Ferk the team co-play-off MVP shipped to Warsaw. We now have a completely new leadership group trying to fill the huge holes the former leaders left behind. Either way enough of the waffling and more to the announcement:

    2nd Assistant
    Sergey Preobrazhensky @Bulduray_1
Traded for last year’s captain and one of the assistants in Moscow last season clearly shows his leadership value on and off the ice. Almost a complete no brainier that Sergey was going to be announced as part of the leadership group. Hopefully continued his great leadership leads the Vancouver Wolves back to play-off success.

    1st Assistant
    Dogwood Maple @dogwoodmaple
A bit of a youth movement and it is time for the youth to really shine as Maple did in the play-offs last season claiming a huge leadership role leading the team in points and helped carry the team to the Championship. Now it is time for him to officially lead in his third season being named an assistant captain. Expectations are high for the young forward but I am more than confident he will manage lead the team for seasons to come.

      Captain
    Pierre Emile Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito
Pressure is what this young man will face this season after the team traded away his safety net in Biggie Cheese; who clearly lead the team last season after trading away the team’s Captain in Nico Pearce. No matter how you shake it; the team success will fall heavily on the young man shoulders and it should only be fitting that player to score the Championship claiming overtime winner is named Captain.

Three new Captains as the team looks to repeat as Champions but we know that it takes a team effort and a bunch of leaders through the team to lead the team to success in the regular season and the play-offs. Who is going to be the unsung hero this season, the quiet leader or the shut and get on my back leader. In a few days when the season starts the new Chapter of Wolves hockey will be written.

Nikolas Kauppi, unable to find his own team's press conference, brazenly enters the Vancouver Wolves press conference in a dashing purple-and-black suit proudly representing Prague. The room of reporters starts buzzing with confusion when hushes are spread when Kauppi approaches the podium. He opens a bottle of water and takes a few gulps before clearing his throat, "All right, what unrelated questions do we have for me today?"

    1. How close do you follow the Vancouver Wolves off season?
Who? Ahh..just kidding! First of all, my most sincere congratulations to your Continental Cup win last season. You'll be lucky to get it again this season. Oh, sorry...uh..yeah, no, I don't follow you guys at all except that last bit.

    2. Day of trades and too many forgotten; Can you recall all the different trades that General Manager @Frank made this off season trying to improve the roster? Hint: There was a total of ten trades.
I gotta be honest -- as a player, I only pay any attention to anything that's on the ice. I'm sure..uh..Frank was it? Hey, there he is! Frank! Good shit last season, dude. You did what had to be done. Order 66 and all that. It's all business, no hard feelings I'm sure.

    3. Alex Leduc @Lemorse7 was trade to the New York Americans in a difficult trade that seen Hasbulla Magomedov @Motzaburger, S87 NYA 1st and S89 NYA 2nd along with S88 1st and S88 CHI 3rd. Was this a big enough of a return for a player of his caliber? Why?
Wow, he got to go to New York, huh? Lucky guy. I hope he hates sleep. Magomedov isn't even on the Wolves anymore, so I think you lost a pretty valuable player there for picks. What do I know though...I just play the sport, not with money.

    4. Shortly after trading away Alex Leduc @Lemorse7 the team quickly replaced him with a free agent signing in (S81) Nezuko @Baozi. Does this mean that (S81) Nezuko will always be compared to Alex Leduc @Lemorse7 in the terms of leadership and production? Why or Why not?
You signed an anime character? That's hilarious!

    5. Oh, we also have a back-up goaltender that should push Brant Fuhr @Tate to be even better this season in Jeremy Swayman @Agito. Do you think we will have a goaltending controversy this season?
SWAAAAYY! Love that guy. He's practically a brick wall. Fuhr better check his posts before Swayman takes his spot with the Michigan.

    6. Material, Material so much!! I guess I have to decide that last question and push the rest to next week so last question is: After all the changes this off season, how would you rate the Vancouver Wolves chances of repeating on a scale of 1-10? Why?
    2. It was originally 1 because you signed an anime character in place of Leduc, but I bumped it up to 2 because you got my boy Swayman in the mix so there's a slight chance.

Hey, Vancouver, it's been a blast in my short time here. You have a lovely city and I can't wait to make sure you don't make the playoffs this next season, but good luck! See you on the ice!

    1. Hannibal Barca has been incredible. I think he was an absolute steal, we came out on top with this pick for sure.
    2. I think Mac Dre is gonna start picking up points once he's out of VHLM. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops.
    3. Of course I think he'll have another successful season, I had the pleasure to play alongside him in the Marlins. He's an excellent D-man.
    4. Honestly wish I could tell you. It's hard to tell how a player will adjust from one league to another. I'm no scout.
    5. Happy for him, to play 1000 games with a team that values you would be incredible.
    6. I think so. Boston has some really good players. I'd be surprised if they didn't to be honest.

Very well blended and very unique when it comes to having only an outline showing as the render. My favorite types of sigs are ones that have a multiple range of colors (almost like rainbow) and still works well with the render colors. This is the perfect example of those types of sigs. The text placement is perfect too and its not too crazy as there's already a lot going on in the rest of the graphic. The extra white lighting is also just enough to make the render the focal point.

This one gets a 10/10 from me.

The season was definitely a fun experience I'll happily reflect on as Wann's career progresses. Coming so close all these times feels extremely rewarding for a newbie like myself. You guys in the management did a hell of a job putting this team together. It was also great seeing my player being put in a position to succeed on a team as strong as this Gladiators squad was.

And Swayman, oh boy, how great it was to have one of the league's best goalie tending the crease and just being an MVP.

See you guys soon, maybe on the opposite end of the ice, maybe in a locker room, who knows.

As an assistant to the director in Rome. I must apologize for having opted you a 3rd consecutive defeat of this curse. You get so far every time and your character shows it after every game. You are one of the elite and we are happy to have you in Rome. We may not have won the cup this season but it was our best season in a long time. You can be proud of this achievement because you made a team that was often in the bottom of the standings at the top of their form. You are a model for the youth who will follow the path of Rome and as I say since my arrival as AGM. All roads lead to Rome.

Now I can answer as Jeremy Swayman. As a teammate! I'm glad I got to play with Wann Kerr. You often found the offense to score and were able to be part of the results that can often save games. Our best strategy tactic was the confidence in our group that allowed us to go far. Don't regret your experience because you proved that Wann Kerr is not to be taken lightly. And you have a proof of your experience if we watch every game. I would say you were 60% in the 3 stars at the end of every game. This shows your involvement and experience in every game. Thanks again Wann Kerr for this season.

Sincerely Agito or even your teammate Swayman.

    1. Hitting 350 would be awesome. You absolutely love having a player like Coasty on your team...because it means you don't have to play against him.

    2. Oh yea, Crummer is an absolute beauty, just watch our powerplay tonight. He's got it.

    3. Two games left, we're probably facing Bratislava in the first round anyway, let's keep our cool tonight and not play like we're trying to prove something.

    4. The most important thing for us skaters is to have confidence in our goaltending, so we don't cheat on forecheck and play it "too safe", and I think we're alright here. I feel like we don't need to adjust our game based on who's in the net at all, which makes the switching between our goalies perfectly seamless.

    5. I believe je will hit it at the beginning of the last year of his contract. How cool would be if he hit it in the home season opener?

    6. Meh. Nothing against these two guys as human beings, but I'm a Wild fan, these two together with Sharp, Keith and Seabrook will forever haunt me in my dreams. I'm maliciously happy they've lost.

    1. Always good to have a solid backup. Really helps on those back to back games.

    2. I think we just played our game. We were able to standup for ourselves both in both performance and physicality.

    3. For sure. In a league filled with top tier goalies he is certainly one of the best.

    4. I think a playoff birth is inevitable. We are too good a team to expect anything less.

    5. Always nice to see guys have long careers. He's on a very interesting Wings team who, while struggling a bit this season, have a bright future. He's signed on for another year so there is time for them to turn it around with Perron on the team.

    6. Did not know that was a thing. Makes sense though. Holidays are busy enough, getting traded on top of that would suck.

    1. Even though Jeremy is a workhorse, it might not be a bad idea to spread out his starts a bit, to keep him at 130% sharp for the postseason.

    2. We still allowed a bit too many shots. If Wiley wasn't playing like Patrick Roy 2.0 and Ash Sparks wasn't looking off, the score could have been much closer. We'd still probably win, we were cutting through their defense like butter, but ultimately goaltending might have been the deciding factor.

    3. That's not even a question, he's been our MVP all season.

    4. As a rookie in the league, I really have nothing to compare to. But yeah, I like the way this team is going this season, and I believe the fans should be optimistic about the future.

    5. The fact almost 700 of them were in the Blues uniform, and some more for Vegas, makes it impossible for me to have positive feelings about it.

    6. There's an actual rule? Didn't know that. It makes sense, but honestly I'd prefer it being more of an unwritten rule or a gentlemen agreement, rather than an actual rule. It just doesn't feel right to me.

Agito reacted to VattghernCZ in Rome player of the week - Sunday 12/4 to Saturday 12/10
Not long ago, the Golden Ring team award was established in Rome. Its purpose was to recognize a standout player in every sim, and it was intended for the player currently holding the title to pass it forward to the player they deem the most valuable after the next day's sim. I personally love the idea of us players directly passing this award between each other rather than it being given by team management. But the sad reality is not enough members are active in the team's locker room to realistically keep it going. It's a shame to let this idea be wasted.

So I'm gonna try something different. With no authority in this topic other than the self-proclaimed one, I'm gonna recognize - surprising no one - our star goalie Jeremy Swayman @Agito as the most outstanding Rome player of the week.

Games 163 @COL and 166 vs. STO both got to shootouts, and Swayman was rock-solid in both these games, recording combined .922SVS% and stopping 5/6 shootout attempts.  The whole team including Jeremy folded in game 170 vs. IST, but rebounded in game 174 @IST with a respectable performance despite the OT loss. The following sim, Swayman was back in focus with 26-save 1GA performance @COL in game 178 and a 15-save shutout vs. VAS in game 182. The pattern was very similar the following day, a very good 35/38 performance @COL in game 186 followed by a 16-save shutout @GEN in game 192. In game 196 vs. GEN, Swaman looked a little shaky allowing 3 goals on 28 shots and game 199 vs. OSL wasn't exactly elite either, allowing 4 goals on 39 shots. Game 201 vs. GEN was pretty similar, (2 goals on 19 shots). However in Jeremy's last game of the week - game 206 @BRA, he was lights out again, stopping 35 shots only allowing 3 goals, and staying undefeated in the SO. Swayman didn't start the last two games of the week.

    1. The current management did a great job scouting and drafting, if they're still around in the future, I see no reason why not. @Pifferfish coming to tear the E to pieces next season will certainly help.

    2. If? You mean when? With how the League is shaping up, it could be any team not from Cologne or Geneva. Istanbul currently looks like the prime candidate, that would be a fun series.

    3. I've mentioned it in the MS, and the response from our AGM was a great example of the support I was talking about.

    4. We've been through a bit of a rough patch, but I think we're getting back on track,I believe we can keep some distance between us and Istanbul.

    5. To me, he already is the greatest goal scorer ever. Hockey was just different in Gretzky's time. Breaking the record officialy would be a huge thing, but really more of a formality. A crazy thing is it could be broken again as early as next decade.

    6. Did he? That's nuts! He's been cash money last two years. A human his size has no business moving the way he does, or having such soft mitts. He's a rare breed.

You need to have certain qualities to be able to fit into this system so emblematic of the VHL. As an AGM for Rome. I will help you on your way and support Wann Keer's journey! To help you reach the journey of your life to Vancouver. We are experiencing good momentum in Rome and you are part of it. You are one of the players who are writing a story on the walls of Rome and that can only be good for you in a famous career!

    1. It's been a very interesting year so far. I think the quality of goaltending in has been very good this season and teams are quite evenly matched. Just got to keep improving as a whole and we can definitely challenge Cologne.

    2. I think we have lapses in discipline that come back to bite us.

    3. He's been great. Definitely one of the best goalies in the league and like I said previously, there are a lot of good goalies.

    1. My goal remains the same, mostly developing my game without the puck and faceoffs. I'd like to start working on skating a bit more as well. I like the system, it promotes a friendly competition. Maybe implementing some sort of a Golden Ring HOF would be a good idea also.

    2. We're allowing them too many shots, I think we need to shut them down and grind out low scoring wins, we've got the goalie and defense to pull it off.

    3. Keep on earning, keep on playing well. Finishing first would be nice, but it's the postseason that really matters.

    4. I think we start games a bit too slow, we're not really going full throttle in first periods the way Oslo or Cologne do.

    5. I've been a huge Minnesota Wild guy for a bit over a decade. And I mean my bedroom walls are forest green with the paint color matched to Wild logo, and I have a Wild tattoo planned that I'd like to have done some time next year.

    6. I don't really watch Seattle that close. If you mean him falling to 4th, it surprised me a bit, I wouldn't pick him 1st overall simply because of how he presents himself, he's not really a generational talent with the skill and talent to back it up, but at 4th je might turn out to be a steal. If you mean him struggling, it doesn't surprise me a bit, I don't generally support playing prospect in the NHL in their D+1 season, unless we're talking about generational talent prospects.

    Welcome everyone,

Last week the S86 started and this year is Rome's year. Indeed, the Rome Gladiator's GM confirmed that the team was going all in this season and nothing other than winning the Cup is going to be acceptable. The Gladiators won their first nine games and everything was going very good, but the team lost five of their next seven games. As a result, after 16 games, the Rome Gladiators are second of the league behind the Cologne Express with a record of 11 wins and 5 losses for a total of 22 points. The great start of the team would not have been possible without the rookie center Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ and the elite goaltender Jeremy Swayman @Agito. Kerr is currently leading the team for goals (9) and points (16) and Swayman has an incredible save percentage of 0.938% and a goal against average of 2.06. I would also like to congratulate @leandrofg and the Cologne Express for being the only undeafeated team in the league. However, the season is not over and Rome is not far behind you.

Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!

For Members Forum - > Rome Gladiators

    Hello to all!
The Rome management is implementing a new reward system for your efforts in the league.
    Here's how it works: gold-ring
At each simulation made by Currency. One player from the Rome squad will receive the Golden Ring during the day. In the next simulation the player who got this golden ring will have to give it to the player of his choice that he found exceptional and so on. In a top 3 that will be counted at the end of the season. Rewards will be given by myself. The statistics of the players during the simulation must be taken into account. Just because you are in the top three stars does not mean you have a better chance of getting a gold ring. Everyone can be a winner.
However, you have to be active in the Discord as well as in the Forum. If you are in the top 3 but have not participated in the Discord. You will be moved back one space and the player below you will take your place and so on.
Press conferences are not for nothing. Take the time to answer them, it's worth 2 TPE per week. Plus your other activities in the league that can give you extra TPE.
Here's an example: Management gives Joey Coaster (FANTEIGE) the daily gold ring. The next day in the next simulation: Joey Coaster gives the daily gold ring to Tom Creeg.
Here is the principle ! We thank you in advance for your participation!
The management is proud to give the first daily gold ring to Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ for his exemplary statistics over the last two games.

    ROME AND ITS ARMY
One of the secrets of the building of the Roman Empire lay in the power of its army, a force necessary to conquer new territories while ensuring peace and prosperity. According to tradition, only landowners could serve in the army. However, as the number of landlords decreased and the number of mercenaries employed by the army in its auxiliary units increased, the imperial power decided to create a professional army with Roman citizenship as the only recruitment criterion. Determined to claim their share of the spoils of conquests, the poorest citizens did not hesitate to join the ranks.
The Roman army also encouraged cultural assimilation. By serving in the army, residents of conquered territories could become Roman citizens, with all the privileges that entailed, including the right to own property, to marry, to vote, and even to hold office in the government. However, before a soldier could become a citizen, he had to serve twenty-five years in the army.
