  1. Saskatoon Wild Press Conference Answer these 6 questions for 2 TPE! 1. You finally end up in Saskatoon… What are your first impressions of the city? If you are a returning player, how does it feel to be brought back to Saskatoon? 2. What are some expectations you have for your player? 3. What are you looking forward to this season? 4. What is one particular skill your player excels at? 5. The NHL has started back up! Which team do you have winning it all? 6. Favourite ice cream flavour? @Markusbg@Ziggy Dupree@Battlepopcorn @dart @nikkisixx089 @Oli-La-Poutine @TheLastOlympian07 @qripll @Tyler @tylerwest @Joe Biden @I'll change this later @Kylrad @Astalabohame
  2. Love to see it man! Welcome to the Saskatoon Wild!
  3. Beginnings of a New Season Saskatoon - The VHLM season has long past, and the off-season commenced around over a week ago. Meaning that the draft season is here, that’s right, the opportunity to draft the next biggest thing awaits for VHLM GMs. This draft was loaded with talent, from top to bottom as new teams hope to draft the next biggest thing out there. Back in Saskatoon, the feeling inside the city is calm and hopeful that the new batch of young recruits will put on a show for them once the season rolls around. Let’s take a look at them shall we? 6th Overall Pick: Yaroslav Trunov @qripll Trunov has been noted as an offensive machine by many scouts. Coming into the draft, the 6 foot, 185 pound winger was one of the best forwards on the draft board. Saskatoon just couldn’t refuse to pass up the offer to pick Trunov. Although not a very defensive player, scouts would be quick to point out. He makes up with his unique shooting and goal scoring abilities. He will be the face of the new offensive group here in Saskatoon. 10th Overall Pick: Reinhard Von Kongming @Kylrad Reinhard Von Kongming is a small but buff defensemen hailing all the way from the Isle of Man. Although he might not have all of his defensive skills lined up just yet. Von Kongming was noted to be a defensemen with a very high upside coming into the draft. Von Kongming will have big shoes to fill as one of the focal points of Saskatoon’s defensive core. 16th Overall Pick: Admir Bala @Tyler Coming into the draft, people knew that the need for new defensemen was going to be a big concern for Saskatoon next season. Which is precisely why they added another young stud in Admir Bala. Admir is one of the fairly new and younger players in the draft, but that didn’t stop him from showing scouts his raw defensive power. Although there is plenty of room for improvement in Bala’s game, Saskatoon knew that Bala was just the person to solidify and beef up the defense. We hope to see Admir Bala making an impact in his first full season as a member of the WIld. 26th Overall Pick: Zlatan Ibrahimovic @Markusbg Another forward to add onto the Wild roster. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an amazing center that has already shown that he has a future in hockey. He joined midway through last season as a waiver pickup for the San Diego Marlins and did not disappoint. Dropping 32 points in 55 games, he showed scouts flashes of offensive brilliance with his tenure in San Diego. Zlatan will right away make an impact for Saskatoon's offense. 30th Overall Pick: Shawn Juhamatti Aaltonen @TheLastOlympian07 Aaltonen is another winger that has shown promise to scouts alike. He will be an amazing depth piece for Saskatoon, at 6’0 and 187 pounds. He shows poise and composure with raw playmaking abilities as a young forward. Although we still haven’t seen him play a VHLM game in his career yet. Saskatoon is sure that picking Aaltonen will not be a fluke. 42nd Overall Pick: Beep Beep Bedard @dart Bedard will be playing alongside Aaltonen as Saskatoon once again, hopes to improve its offensive depth that it severely lacked last season. Bedard is another winger that has plenty to prove in his first VHLM season. 46th Overall Pick: Flynn OSteel @tylerwest Flynn OSteel is a defender that could possibly help out the Wild’s season. Listed as 6’5, he’s a big and mighty defensemen that shows glimpses of physicality and great passing technique. Saskatoon views him as a diamond in the rough, if they can untap his potential, he’ll be a game changer for this team. 56th Overall Pick: Joe Dee @I'll change this later Another one of those defensemen. Joe Dee is listed as a big 6 '8 and 250lbs. Due to the fact he’s from North Korea, not much is known about the guy. But he showed up on the draft board one day and Saskatoon took a chance on him, in hopes to see if he could become the next big thing. 66th Overall Pick: Asher Boham @Astalabohame Last but not least, we have goaltender Asher Boham. Boham was mentioned as a low-rated prospect. As a result of this, he fell all the way to the seventh round. Since Saskatoon had realized they had no starting goalie, they decided to pick him up. Maybe there was some glimmer of hope in Boham. Although by no means was he an amazing goaltender. If he can make it past training camp, anything can happen. For all we know, he could turn into a hall of fame goaltender. Boham could very well take the starting goaltender position for the Saskatoon WIld, it’ll be interesting to check back up on him in a few weeks time. It’s not only about the new draftees though. It’s also about the returnees from last season that Saskatoon is fortunate enough to have come back. For example, Nick Trash @nikkisixx089, Mats Zuccarello @Battlepopcorn, Oli McGee @Oli-La-Poutine and Barack Obama @Joe Biden will all be back for the Saskatoon Wild if everything goes smoothly. This group of players will bring leadership and experience to the young Saskatoon Roster. Fans are especially optimistic about the new acquisitions, one fan goes onto state, “It’s going to be a fun time to be a VHLM fan, teams are loaded with talent this year and it’ll be an especially tight race in the Western Conference. Saskatoon has built up a pretty decent team from the draft, we’ll see how it all plays out when the season starts. But things are looking up for this team.” It’s great looking at all the new additions that the Saskatoon Wild has implemented to their roster. Although they had to say goodbye to fabulous players from last year, they have brung in much more talent than that of last year. Saskatoon is going into the season under much better shape than it was last year. Although there is still glaring uncertainty around the goaltending position, they have much better depth in the offense and defense. They can definitely do better than their last season’s first round exit. Words 1027 Claiming 11/06 and 11/13

  8. The Stage is Set Moscow - It’s been a quiet week so far in Moscow. As everyone waits for the Wildcard week to end, the Moscow Menace had plenty of time to regroup after a lengthy and taxing regular season. Now that the real playoffs are starting, Moscow’s players will have to come into the playoffs with a clear mindset and be ready to play their hearts out. The Moscow Menace have their first series against the London United. The attitude in Moscow’s locker room has been rather tame. Although players are riled up for their first appearance since the end of the regular season, they know that they need to keep their emotions under wraps. Keeping level-headed in the playoffs is the only way to win and it seems like everyone on the Moscow team understands that. The London United coming into this series have been, although on paper this team doesn’t look to be quite as big of a threat as other teams in the VHL. They have been able to steadily stand their ground in the European Conference. Finishing just four points below Moscow, this team isn’t one to be taken lightly. Their top forward, Zaza Colors capped off another good season finishing with over a point per game and leading the United in numerous offensive categories. Although the London United might not have a standout forward that other teams might have, they have a group of reliable guys that can most certainly pull their own weight. While their top defensemen, and heavily talked about veteran, Jerome Reinhart will lead the defense. Although Jerome isn’t known for being a physical defender, he makes up for it with his elite play-making and offensive abilities. Finishing fifth overall in the VHL for points. Going over to the otherside, the Moscow Menace have had more of a down year, compared to their regular season records from last year. But they’ve still been able to lock up the second overall spot in the European Conference with eighty-eight points. Tomas Sogaard has been a fairly younger player in the Moscow organization that has taken the VHL by storm. Just in his sophomore year, he has been able to climb to ninth overall in points scored. And has been a lifesaver for the Menace in the regular season. Not only that, but he’s also had his fair share of hits as well, Sogaard is everything a manager would want in their lineup. While on the defensive end, Hard Markinson and Papa Emeritus are going to have another go at it. Both players have excelled at their certain positions, making a name for themselves early on in their VHL careers. There is just one thing that both of them haven’t accomplished just yet, winning the Continental Cup. Time has once again come again for some amazing VHL playoff hockey. Many teams will slowly fade in the darkness, filled with pain and anguish. It will only be the mighty that will prevail during such a physically and mentally demanding period of time. So everyone, grab your popcorn, because the stage is finally set.
  9. Press Conference: Answer these six questions for 6 TPE! 1. Although we only have two games, playoff seeding can still shake up quite a bit. Which team do you want to face in the first round? 2. What’s one thing we have to focus on if we want to have a successful playoffs? 3. Is there any team you don’t want to face? If so, why? 4. What’s the best part about playoff hockey? 5. Are you a morning bird or a night owl? 6. Would you rather have summer all year round, or winter all year round? @Battlepopcorn @nikkisixx089 @Oli-La-Poutine@Joe Biden@Ripper @ThatCanadian @Triller @Reno@woog

  11. Howdy @woog! Welcome to the VHL! I’m Bulduray, GM of the prestigious Saskatoon Wild and we’re offering you a spot on our roster! Although we aren’t favorites to win the cup, who doesn’t love a good ol’ underdog story? We’ve been having some great success so far in the season, we hope to make a push deep into the playoffs! We can offer you plenty of opportunities with your player including Third Line Minutes . On top of that, we have a fun and inclusive locker room that would love to have you! So what do you say? If you want to join the Wild today please quote this message and respond with #GetWild. After that, I can send you a locker room invite and a contract.
  12. As The Season Winds Down As the season winds down, many teams are making their final push before the playoffs start. Whether it’s the VHL, VHLE or VHLM, it’s been a fun ride for many of the VHL community. Less than over ten games per team are yet to be played before the stage will finally be set for playoff time. Both teams and players alike are facing difficult uncertainties regarding their future, it’s going to be interesting to see how everything plays out. The Moscow Menace have once again clinched playoff opportunities for themselves. But there is a bigger question lingering in everyone’s mind as the Moscow Menace approach the end of the season. Do they really have what it takes to make another deep push into the playoffs? So far, the Menace are comfortably seated second in the European Conference. Only behind a remarkable Warsaw Predators roster for first place. Sergey Preobrazhensky hasn’t particularly met the standard he set for himself at the start of the season. Lacking behind in assists, points, shots and several more offensive categories compared to last year. Although this is a very discouraging sign, Sergey will have to remember to keep disciplined and try to salvage his season by giving it his all in the playoffs. “Of course it’s been incredibly discouraging, I set a very high bar for myself this season and I’ve failed to achieve it. I know that I’ll have to go back to the drawing board to reflect on where I’ve gone wrong. But right now, I can’t dwell on my failures, I have to keep on pushing, even if I’m not in the best of shape going into the playoffs” Heading over to the other side of the globe, the Saskatoon Wild have been at it for a while now. Going back and forth with league opponents, it’s been a bloodbath in the VHLM. Soon though, a new page will turn, the VHLM Playoffs will begin once again very soon. The Saskatoon Wild had exceeded expectations since the beginning of the season. Being projected a bottom tier team leading up to the season, the Wild had a drastic turn around. Keeping them alive in such a competitive Eastern Conference. But as the playoffs begin, competition will get tougher, the Wild once again will be regarded as the underdogs. Due to the lack of offensive and defensive depth compared to other teams, many analysts have pointed out that the Wild might not be able to keep up with other teams. But the playoffs are full of uncertainties. Anyone can speculate, but until the final results have been posted, no one can distinctively say which team will prevail. There you have it! It’s been a crazy past few weeks for the whole VHL. And as the community is preparing for the playoffs once again, I thought I would go a bit in depth about mindsets heading into the event. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out in the near future!
