Moscow Success Story Moscow - As the VHL Regular Season slowly is on the verge of dying out once again. Teams across North America and Europe will once again compete for the prestigious Continental Cup that gets handed out at the end of every season. Some teams go in as underdogs who have yet to show their full potential. While others go in with the pressure of the whole VHL community, they know that they’re the favourites and have a lot at stake. Which perfectly describes the S84 Moscow Menace roster. Looking back to the start of the season, everyone knew that this Moscow Menace team would be a tough team to compete against, despite losing some top tier talent in Duncan Idaho and Paul Atreides in the offseason. What others didn’t know though, was just how up to the challenge this new Menace team was, despite what was told about them on paper. Resulting in blowing out their competition out of the water, placing first in the VHL standings with 108 points. Today we have centermen Sergey Preobrazhensky, who has played a vital role in Moscow’s success this season here to answer some questions we have been waiting to ask. Reporter: Hello Sergey, the Moscow Menace have been on quite a roll this season, going as far as to win the Victory Cup award for the top regular season team. What things did this Menace team do to make such a dream become a reality? Sergey: It’s simple, coming into training camp, we knew that we had more weight on our shoulders than ever before. This whole team took matters into our own hands and we kept everyone on the same page about our goals and what we are trying to accomplish out on the ice. Which is what has kept us in games and helped us become so successful this season. Reporter: It seems like your offensive stats this season are showing very little improvement from last year, any thoughts? Sergey: Although I would’ve to expand on my point totals from last year, my numbers are still very respectable. Not only that, I feel like I’ve improved on different aspects on the ice and I have become much more mature on the ice since I first arrived at the VHL. Reporter: It’s certain that the Moscow Menace will be back in the playoffs once again this season. I’m sure you’ve known about Moscow’s struggles in the playoffs for a while now, what do you hope for your team come playoff time? Sergey: All I hope for is that this team plays with the same confidence and swagger as we had in the regular season. As long as that happens, I know for sure that we’ll see Moscow hoist the cup once and for all. The Moscow Menace are back once again for a playoff run, as mounting pressure from the fans and players continues, can the Menace finally call themselves VHL winners? Only time will tell what the future holds for them.

Review: Overall, the graphic is well done and I love the player's face sticking out amidst the font around him. One thing that I would've liked to see change would be the red font. I know it's hard to make both the player and font visible when they are both stacked on top of each other by layers but I would've liked the red font to stand out a tad bit more. But other than that, it's an amazing piece of work. Well done! 8.5/10

15 Years of VHL When I first read our annual theme week, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the VHL was turning 15. I thought about what an amazing accomplishment that is to everyone around the league. To put out and give an engaging league for everyone since 2007. Even though the VHL has not been perfect and never will be. It has made some considerable improvements since I first arrived on the stage in September of last year. Things like the new hybrid attributes being implemented to end Vancouver’s Continental Cup Reign. Or Trivia finally appearing back up again after being put on pause for what I was told an eternity. And most likely, a lot more has changed since the site first appeared on the internet, which I wish I was there for. The VHL has been such a great surprise to myself ever since I first joined the league. My first impressions of the VHL seemed to be nothing special or out of the ordinary. But as I learned more about the league while talking to people in the community, it became apparent that I found what I was looking for in a sim league. You see, it was incredibly difficult to get a grasp of what’s actually going on in the VHL. After a few hours of reading guides and understanding how the VHL works. I decided to give it a shot. And I haven’t looked back, every week doing my very best to max earn every week. Everyday there was something to read or discuss on the forums or the discord. I was pleased with all the help and feedback I received when I first started out, which kept on bringing me back here to the VHL. Since then I was able to AGM for the Saskatoon Wild and eventually become the head General Manager. I wanted to give newcomers like myself an enjoyable first few seasons in the VHLM in hopes they stick around for the ride. Experiencing and meeting new people frequently is a fresh breath of air to me and I enjoy every bit of it as a VHLM GM. On top of that, I was thankful to be a part of such an amazing Moscow Menace team. An active and self-fulfilling locker room that kept me going. We’ve had some splendid seasons and I always look forward to the sim results being posted. My first player, Sergey Preobrazhensky has been excelling under Moscow, and I look forward to seeing how the future plays out with the Menace. Overall, it’s great looking back at what was as I started to become more invested into the VHL. Although I’ve joined plenty of other sports sim leagues before, they just don’t seem to have the spark like the VHL does. The VHL is still the only hockey simulation league that I’ve stuck to visiting everyday. Although I’ve joined quite late in VHL’s lifespan, I still wish the VHL a fantastic birthday and I look forward to more seasons together.

New Look Preobrazhensky? Moscow- Although there was immediate hesitancy and worry about the “new look” Moscow Menace. It seems like the doubt has quelled as the season continues. So far, the Menace have posted almost unreal numbers and statistics in games. With such success comes new players that are brought into the spotlight. Watson Power has been heavily underrated during Moscow’s run, stepping up to become a reliable defensemen that brung depth to Moscow’s defense unit. Who is already on pace to break his offensive point totals from when he first got into the league by a wide margin. Or how about the new rookie Tomas Sogaard? Who has been able to fit comfortably into the team and surprising others having been slotted third overall in points for rookies. Although these early success stories are spectacular, we cannot talk about the Menace and its success without bringing up the intangible Sergey Preobrazhensky. He has brung out all his potential this season, being able to help the Menace win games a multitude of times throughout the twenty five games the Menace has already played. Looking at the numbers, one can already tell that Sergey has taken a giant step forward in his game. Appearing near the top in point leaderboards and other offensive categories. After an electrifying win against Warsaw 4-3, Sergey had the opportunity to sit down for some questions with reporters. Reporter: “Hello Sergey, congrats on such a big win against the Predators. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you’ve seemed much more confident on the ice, resulting in more offensive output. Is there anything you can put your finger on that helps you to become more relaxed and calm while on the ice?” Sergey: “To be honest, I feel like the only thing that legitimately helped me become more comfortable with not only my team, but the VHL, was the experience. After two seasons of being exposed to the VHL, I’ve already handled a ton of things a normal person my age wouldn’t have dreamt of experiencing. Through hours of games, hardships and training I’ve been able to relax in my skin. And this comfortability on the ice will only grow once I grow older. “ Reporter: “You’ve started on the right foot this season. How do you make sure you keep up such brilliance on the ice once the season becomes more tedious going forward?” Sergey: “I just got to remember not to take the gas off the pedal. I worked my ass off to get to where I am today, and I’m not going to ruin this season for myself because I lack consistency.” So far Sergey and his Moscow Menace have been on quite of a roll so far. Everyone in the VHL knows this team has the talent to go far this season. The question is do they have the perseverance and courage to keep the good times on a roll? Both the players and fans of Moscow hope they have what it takes to meet success this season.

PRESS CONFERENCE Answer these 6 questions for 2 TPE! 1. First week of the Season has been played, how do you feel about your player’s performance so far? 2. Although our rough start, this team is nothing short of talent. Which player on our team should receive recognition for their performance? 3. Returning players, what’s it like stepping back on the ice after a long offseason. First Year Rookies, how does your player feel after their very first VHLM game? 4. If you had to pick, which NHL team’s uniforms look the best? 5. Are you a fan of travelling? What does your dream vacation look like? 6. Heavily debated question, Hot Dogs or Hamburgers? @8Ovechkin8 @RobBro34 @Tetricide @JigglyGumballs @Ripper @Abaddon @aimkin
