  1. Ottawa, ON - Don't look now, but the Ottawa Lynx are only one point back of Saskatoon for second place, with one less game played than the Wild. Currently riding their season high five game win streak, the Lynx suddenly find themselves back in the thick of the race for second place. First place is more than likely out of the realm of possibility for all four remaining teams as Oslo, while struggling lately(by their standards), is currently twenty points ahead of the Wild. While the regular season title for them is all but delivered at this point, the race for second place is intriguing. A couple weeks ago you'd have thought the Wild would run away with that, while Ottawa would fall into place with third, but it seems as if Ottawa is being stubborn and trying to play spoiler. Being deemed as having a weak offense, the team has seemed to take that talk to heart lately and rally around each other and string together these wins. Will they continue to prove their doubters wrong, or is this just a slight surge that can be chalked up to being just lucky? The second half of the season continues and time will tell if Ottawa has caught fire.
  2. On a nice little five game win streak here too!
  3. How do you help out your own +/-? By going out and scoring and getting an assist. Nice win boys
  4. That Oslo defense came to play, damn!

  6. Klop coming up clutch! Write an article about not being able to beat these guys, go out and beat these guys.
  7. Just as we're winless against Oslo, I believe I saw that Yukon is winless against us.
  8. Thanks for all the hard work getting this together. Can't imagine it was much fun.
  9. A scene all too familiar for Ottawa when they meet Oslo Talk about being someone's kryptonite. After last nights game against Oslo, the Ottawa Lynx have now moved to 0-5 this season against their VHLM rivals, the Oslo Storm. While they have been playing SOME tight, close games against Oslo, they just cannot seem to find the next gear needed when the game is on the line. Ottawa has two shootout losses and now an overtime loss against Oslo. Oslo is out scoring them at a clip of better than 2-1, with Oslo scoring 32 goals to Ottawas 15. The one really bad game Ottawa has had is a 5-0 loss. "We have some problems against these guys obviously." Said Co-General Manager Mr. Kendrick. "We either start slow and get behind early, or we cough up the game late. It's slightly irritating, but we will figure this out and right the ship." He concluded. Defenseman Niko Bogdanavic chimed in "We definitely need to play better, on both ends. Rumblings are our offense is weak right now, but you can't blame it solely on one side. If we play better on the defensive end and not allow these guys to get their shots off, we don't need to push as hard and reach to keep up with these guys. We need to do better and I have faith we will."
  10. Can't be having you guys get too far ahead of the pack is the real reasoning.

  13. I was going to do something similar to this, but with rankings based on how points would have been last year. I got pissed doing the first team because it as a pain in the ass to keep going back and forth to the index on my phone. Should have just done it in a gut feeling like this.
  14. With draft night come and gone now for both leagues, many players are settling into their new homes. For Niko Bogdanavic getting drafted to stay in Ottawa was something he had hoped would come to fruition and seems pleased with that selection despite some early season woes of not having depth to compete in games late and the team having some trouble finding the back of the net. "Of course I am happy here. The season is young, we can figure this out." Niko said. "Just because you find yourself running into some adversity doesn't mean you just pack it up. Not in my blood to do that." The second team Niko found himself being drafted to that night was the Riga Reign of the VHL. How did Niko take that news? "It was excellent. Literally as soon as my agent Mister Jones posted that story about hardly anyone calling us, three teams reached out in the midnight hour before the draft. Coincidence or not, it was pleasing to hear from some more teams. I'm glad Riga took me. I am looking forward to showing them what I can do and that they took the right man. The locker room has been very active which I enjoy a lot as well. They may not compete much this season, but with allowing me to stay down in the VHLM and earn more practice hours before I get called up is a smart choice and one I know that will pay dividends next season for sure."
