  1. Mexico City Kings advance to the Semi-Finals in the VHLM!

  2. LETS GOOO @Trunkxolotl and @Jason kranz!!
  3. VHL Rookie Season: Siyan Yasilievich S84 Statline (HC Davos Dynamo | #98 Defenseman): GP: 72 | G: 6 | A: 35 | PTS: 41 | +/-: 0 | SHT: 124 | PIM: 70 | HIT: 112 | SB: 134 | Tied 7th in Rookie Scoring Season Overview: Siyan Yasilievich made his debut in the VHL this season for HC Davos Dynamo, helping to lead his team to the playoffs in the wildcard round, something Davos hasn't been able to do for the past couple of seasons. Siyan joins Pete Mitchell, Jake Thunder, and Napoleon Dynamite as the rookie squad for the team. Siyan struggled early on into the season, where he started on the first pair, but wasn't able to put up any points and many skeptics were already raising question marks about Siyan, as he was the 4th overall pick. However, Siyan has silenced the doubters recently with his play, and finished T-7th in Rookie Scoring, which is absolutely massive for the young defenseman. Siyan struggled this season with confidence issues, due to the fact that in the VHLM and VHLE, he was a top scorer, easily adjusting to the play in those leagues. However, the VHL is a different beast and Siyan had to learn that the hard way, where after multiple games he was visibly shaken by some of the losses that his team was experiencing. On top of that, lots of pressure from outside sources expecting Siyan to immediately succeed at such a high level, played a factor on his play. Despite all that, teammates were able to help Siyan through his early season slump, and he was able to finally start to play at a level that showed his upside towards the end of the season. HC Davos Dynamo finished 39-28-5, good for fifth place in EU, and able to slot them into the wildcard round against the Riga Reign. This will be the first time Siyan experiences playoff hockey at the VHL level, and he'll have to step his game up another level to be able to compete with playoff hockey! We'll see how Siyan does as the playoffs start today, and Siyan is ready for whatever comes his way. Playoff Expectations: In the playoffs, it's a whole different beast like I said. Anyone can beat anyone and even the best of the best could fall, so it's best to make an early statement for the young star and HC Davos Dynamo. Again, Davos will be going up against Riga in the first round which will be a tough matchup for Davos, although not impossible for the young team. The fact this team made the playoffs is already huge and the experience the young players will get is a massive step in the right direction for Davos, but winning this series would be a huge confidence boost for Siyan and Davos. We asked Siyan his expectations and how he thinks this series will go, to which he said, "Yeah, so I honestly think that this series is going to end up going all five games. Riga isn't an easy team and they have some really solid players on that team. For us, we're looking to take this series one game at a time and we want to be able to put our best foot forward in each game. 100% effort and extra will be required if we want to take down Riga, but I think it is do-able." Critics and doubters are always looking for reasons to nitpick Siyan's game, and one wrong move could have him be on headlines all over the league. With all this pressure, Siyan will have a lot to handle as a young player in the league, but with all the veteran presence on his team helping him out in situations like these, Siyan looks forward to the first round of the playoffs!
  4. LOL, this is a great storyline
  5. 1. I think it'll be a close series against Riga. We've really start to turn it on lately, but Riga is still a fairly good team. I'm honestly worried for whoever wins that series, us or Riga, because they'll play Moscow and probably get destroyed. 2. At first, I was a little bit sad about how my player was playing, but now I've eclipsed 40 points as a defenseman in my rookies season, plus I'm top 10 in rookie scoring, so I'm happy! 3. I think the biggest reason has to be our rookies starting to make an impact. A lot of our rookies or younger players at the beginning of the season weren't making a huge impact, but they've finally started to turn it on at the end of the season. 4. I think Chicago can really do some damage in NA, but I really like D.Cs chances to be honest. 5. When I was in high school playing hockey, my pre-game meal would be pasta or chicken, so I think my player would be the same! 6. The most useless super power has to be turning into a liquid or something. Imagine how boring that would be, I mean I guess any time you're in danger you could become water, but like that's all you can do. Lame.
  6. I wish good luck to all the GMs applying for the JST. It’s a great tournament and it helps you learn what being a GM is like! It’s super fun and I had a blast the two seasons I GM’d for it. Good Luck everyone!

  11. Why is Corey Kitson so great? I want to start this by saying I lost a bet, so now I have to write a vhl.com article about @Nykonax's player and how great they are. Good thing I only have to write 150 words . I also ended up winning the game, so honestly it's not too much of a loss for me! Corey Kitson's Vancouver Legacy Corey Kitson came into the VHL in Season 80, and their impact sent shockwaves through the entire VHL in just their first season. Corey put up a respectable 22 Goals, 20 Assists, good for 42 Points, and a +52 on a surging and dominant Vancouver Wolves team. On top of that, they would put up 7 points in the playoffs and it would lead the Vancouver Wolves to the beginning of their dynasty, winning a championship against the Moscow Menace in S80, this is a reoccurring theme it seems. The next two seasons, Corey Kitson would put up impressive numbers, and yet again, lead the Vancouver Wolves to two more championships, winning 3 cups in 3 seasons, all beating the Moscow Menace (poor Spartan). It seemed Corey Kitson was destined for greatness as he would then pack his bags and head to the D.C. Dragons. This season, the Dragons looked poised to potentially take home another championship, where Corey Kitson would have his name on the cup for the fourth time in just five seasons.

  17. 1. I think there is a very small chance that we could catch Helsinki, but most likely we are going to be taking on Riga in the wildcard game. The point gap I feel like is a bit too much to catch at this point in the season. 2. I didn't follow the All-Star Game festivities, but congrats to @dasboot for bringing home All-Star MVP! 3. I think it'll make their better for sure, but how much better I don't know. Realistically, it'll probably be able to make them contend with us, but I don't know if they can crack top three. 4. Us. I think we were expected to be a bottom of the pack team and we've ended up sneaking into a playoff spot. I expected us to honestly be fighting with London for the last playoff spot, but we have pulled ahead for the time being. 5. I feel like the trade was pretty one-sided for the Flames. They ended up getting Huberdeau, Weegar, a prospect, and a 1st for Tkachuk which to me seems like too much. Only time will tell. 6. I eat rice with a fork usually, but I've had it with chopsticks.
