  4. @Alex You're stuck with me for 3 seasons.
  5. Siyan Yasilievich - Selected 4th Overall in the VHL Draft to HC Davos Dynamo Pre-Draft Siyan Yasilievich heading into the draft received many interviews from teams in the VHL. He knew that he was a hot commodity for the VHL Draft, with many teams looking to snag up the said Russian Defenseman, coming off of a career year, tying the most assists in the VHLM with 81 assists on the year. Siyan would be an elite pass-first defenseman in the VHL, and teams were ready to take a shot on the next superstar. In the interviews that Siyan had with multiple GMs, they were impressed with the responses he had to the questions, thus increasing his draft stalk. Despite Siyan being ranked 7th in the Projected VHL Draft, many scouts had him as high as 4th overall, where he could potentially be picked up by HC Davos Dynamo (), who seemed very interested in the young Russian defenseman. Only time would tell though, as Siyan would have to wait until Draft Day was officially upon him to hear his name be called. Draft and Selection Siyan was ready, it was his time to be selected to a franchise in the VHL, and with him being projected top 10, he had huge shoes to fill and huge expectations on his shoulders. The first two picks went by relatively fast, with the Chicago Phoenix (), and the Vancouver Wolves () making their selections as Scotty Sundin and Brandt Fuhr. These were no surprise to anyone, as Chicago was getting a franchise player in Scotty Sundin who would be VHL ready right off the bat and would make an immediate impact in their lineup. For the Vancouver Wolves, they had traded up for this pick, trading away players to be able to start their rebuild and select a franchise goaltender in Brandt Fuhr, which surprised no one, as they needed a goalie for the future. Up next, it was the Malmo Nighthawks who had to decide who to select. Most scouts in their mock drafts had Igor Molotov sliding to third, as Molotov had a great relationship with the management over in Malmo. However, the pick took a while to be announced and that had people a bit skeptical of who was going to be picked, but after some time, the Malmo Nighthawks () selected Igor Molotov with their pick. Next up at fourth overall was the HC Davos Dynamo, who seemed very keen on selecting Siyan Yasilievich with their pick, as they needed a blue-line franchise defenseman in their organization for the future. There were still big names left open, and with time on the clock, Siyan waited to see if this would be his fate. The pick was in almost instantly, with no hesitation, and Siyan heard his name announced that he would be joining the HC Davos Dynamo () organization, being selected fourth overall. It would be a dream come true for the young superstar, as despite being projected to go seventh overall by multiple scouts, he had actually been selected much higher then people thought. Siyan had tears in his eyes as he hugged his family, and walked onto the stage to throw the Davos Jersey over his head, put on the hat, and took a picture with the management. This was a turning point in Siyan's career, as his whole life he had been waiting for this moment, and now finally, his dreams became reality. Post-Draft Post-Draft, Siyan met some of his teammates for dinner at a local restaurant. He was joined by @comrade cat and @Lilpfigher, future goalies for the organization, and teammates that he had play with on Team Asia! Siyan knew that this was the franchise for him, and he seemed determined to bring this franchise a championship before his retirement. After his dinner with his fellow teammates Boris Tsezar and Red Gaming, he met up with @Crstats23, who ended up being selected eleventh overall by the HC Davos Dynamo. They seemed to have instant chemistry with each other, and they shared stories about their time in the VHLM, Pete Mitchell with the Las Vegas Aces, and Siyan Yasilievich with the Philadelphia Reapers. These two had played each other in the first round of the VHLM Playoffs, so they already knew of each other, and the conversation seemed to flow between them pretty well. After walking around outside, Siyan parted ways with his new teammate, and while he was walking back to his hotel room for the night, he ended up getting a call from @Alex, the head General Manager for the HC Davos Dynamo. Alex told Siyan to meet him at the HC Davos Dynamo Arena, which was just a ten minute walk from where he currently was. Siyan was a bit confused on why Alex would want to meet so late at night, it already being after dinner, but he decided to make his way to the arena. Siyan eventually made it to the arena, where he was greeted by Alex and the two walked around the arena and talked for a couple minutes, before they made their way down to Alex's office. In the office, Alex already had an entry level contract ready to be signed, and Siyan's eyes started to tear up. Unlike some of the top VHL draftees in this draft, Siyan still needed another season of development, where he would be playing in the VHLE. Siyan while wiping away the tears of joy made sure to let Alex know, where Alex said it was no problem, he was committed to Siyan's development and long term success with the Dynamo. Siyan would sign the 3 Season Entry Level Contract with the HC Davos Dynamo. Alex came over to Siyan and gave him a hug, saying, "Welcome to the big leagues Siyan. We're glad to have you long term and we hope you're just as happy as we are!" Alex was no stranger to Siyan, as in his development years in the VHLM, Alex was his General Manager for a short time, so Siyan being reunited with his old General Manager meant more familiar faces for him. Siyan was super excited seeing multiple faces he recognized and he knew that this was going to be his home, for a very, very long time.
  6. Siyan Yasilievich - VHL Draft Day Draft Day: Today is officially the day of the VHL Draft. Siyan Yasilievich has been projected by many scouts to end up in the top 10, but where he lands still is a mystery. Some scouts have Siyan going as early as fourth overall, heading to , while other scouts have him sliding down as far as ninth overall, going to . We'll have to see where he ends up, but regardless, most scouts and GMs can agree on the fact that Siyan Yasilievich is an up and coming talent that will become the future of a franchise. Siyan plans to play season in the VHLE, before finally making his debut in the VHL. We asked Siyan what team he wants to play for the most, in which he responded, "Personally, I do not care who I play for. There isn't a specific team that I would like to play for at the time, but I want to be apart of a franchise for a very long time." Come check out the draft tonight and see where Siyan Yasilievich is going to end up!

  8. Siyan Yasilievich - Where will he end up? VHL Destination Many people wonder, where will Siyan end up in the VHL? Currently projected at 7th overall, there are a lot of teams that could fit the bill for Siyan. It is very unlikely that Siyan ends up going top three, as the top three in the draft class are pretty solidified, in Scott Sundin, Igor Molotov, and Brandt Fuhr. However, after that, anyone could end up sliding into the fourth place spot. With 6 defenseman currently projected in the top 10, it is very likely that all of these players end up going top 10. Currently, there is a huge drop off between 6th and 7th, where TPE for 6th is 334, and TPE for 7th is 276. Coming into the draft, Siyan is ranked so high despite being unproven at a higher level, unlike the other draftees who have proven their skills at a higher level. At the end of the day, Siyan has gotten many calls from GMs in the VHL and he should slot in top 10 no matter what. has taken quite a liking to Siyan, so we could see him potentially crack the top 4, but again, it's very hard to predict who will be slotting in at fourth through tenth, as every single player is a defenseman. VHLE Destination This one is a little bit more tricky to try and guess where Siyan is going to end up. For the VHLE, teams will be looking for players that can make an immediate impact, and players that will not opt to go to the VHL right away. Some of the top of the class will most likely skip out on the VHLE, so Siyan going higher in the draft is a real possibility. We got to spoke to Siyan about his plans, and he said that he fully intends on staying a season in the VHLE to develop as a player. This will peak the interest of a lot of GMs, who will be looking for a Top 4 Defenseman straight out of the draft. The order hasn't yet been released, however, the Istanbul Red Wolves currently have 4 firsts, and there's a very big possibility that Siyan ends up getting drafted to them. We'll have to see where he lands though, as VHLE is always interesting with players being eligible for the draft, but deciding to immediately make the hop to the VHL!

  10. Yeah it's pretty wild. I was thinking about Pittsburgh for the Steel, but I would have to realign the conferences if we were to do that, which could get a bit dicey.
  11. I think it would for sure make the league more competitive, but I worry at the fact that it would potentially thin out teams, that's all.
  12. Word Count: 1078 (Not Counting Headings and words irrelevant to the Media Spot). Weeks Claimed Ending: 3/27 and 4/3.
