  1. Game 271 Review: In this game, we have the Saskatoon Wild taking on the Mexico City Kings in a playoff race type of matchup. This game was an extremely low scoring game, with only one goal coming in this game in the first period by the Mexico City Kings. Matt Rooster ended up scoring his 26th of the season, Assisted by Jason Argos (46) and Tomas Sogaard (27). Mexico City really took it to the Wild in the first period, outshooting them 14-8. Heading into the second though, the Kings would get pummeled by shots, being outshot 11-3, but Brandt Fuhr held the fort, keeping it scoreless for the Wild. Heading into the third, it was a bit of a more even period, with the shots being 9-8 in favor to the Wild, however there was no score. The Wild tried their best to put one past Brandt Fuhr, but it just wasn't enough, as he recorded a 28/28 shutout to lead the Kings to a 1-0 victory over the Wild. My shoutout goes to Brandt Fuhr who had an exceptional game, shutting out one of the best teams in the league.
  2. PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of March 6th, 2022 (You don’t need to answer every single one, just 6 for 2 TPE) 1: Who do you think is going to lead the league in points at the end of the season? 2: We're getting towards the end of the season with only 16 more games to be played. Who do you think the Reapers are going to play Round 1? 3: What is one player on another team that you think is having a breakout season? 4: With the NHL Trade Deadline coming closer and closer, do you think we'll see any huge trades made, and if so, what's one you think is most likely to happen? 5: To continue last week about Pizza Toppings, what's your favorite Pizza Place to order from? 6: If you were to name a MVP of the Reapers so far, who would be the MVP and why? 7: Pepsi or Coke, and why? 8: What's one memorable moment that you have from being a Reaper so far? 9: What's your favorite fast food restaurant and why?
  3. First Generation Player attempts to make a VHL Dream Team **DISCLAIMER: I just want to start this out by saying I am a First Generation Player and have yet to play in VHLE/VHL, so I might be missing out on some amazing players and I apologize, this is the best I could do.** Team Name: Buffalo Aces Reasoning: My favorite team is the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL and I am hard coping with hoping that this team would bring me a championship so that I can feel good about a Buffalo team. Forwards: Scott Boulet (Class of S7 HoF VHL)-Leeroy Jenkins (Class of S31 HoF VHL)-Christian Stolzchsweiger (Class of S9 HoF VHL) Tukka Reikkinen (Class of S28 HoF VHL)-Alex McNeil (Class of S7 HoF VHL)-Xin Xie Xiao (Class of S44 HoF VHL) Dan Dan (Current player for The Los Angeles Stars)-Franchise Cornerstone (Class of S61 HoF VHL)-Diana Maxwell (Class of S58 HoF VHL) Ansgar Snijider (Class of S38 HoF VHL)-Wesley Kellinger (Class of S79 HoF VHL)-Dust'n Funk (Class of S16 HoF VHL) Reasoning: I'm not going into depth on every single player, but I'll talk about the positions and why I chose a couple of players. First off, I want to talk about Wesley Kellinger who had an exceptional career on an expansion team and was a great team player. Wesley sacrificed winning and having an award studded career for instead electing to play on newer teams and trying to take them to glory, which he was able to do twice in his career. I think to have this player on my team would be exceptional, because he would help lead my team to success, as he's done it many times with newer faces. For the Left Wing, I want to talk about Scott Boulet and why I ended up choosing him. Scott Boulet put up an impressive 100 points every single season he played, which is absolutely insane for a player. On top of that, he has so many awards I'd be here forever trying to type them all out, so he's a no-brainer for my team. Despite putting up insane numbers, he was an exceptional defensive player and that is exactly the type of player I want on my team. Last, for Right Wing a player I want to point out is Dust'n Funk and why I picked him, especially to slide on that line. Dust'n Funk was a leader in the time he played and an exceptional team player, and I think on teams, you don't always need the highest goal scorers, or the best player, you need a leader in the locker room and he will for sure be a leader for my team. It was a no-brainer to put him with Wesley Kellinger who also had very good success on newer teams and I think with these two on my team, we would be a great team. Defense: Petr Shirokov (Class of S5 HoF VHL)-Sterling Labatte (Class of S10 HoF VHL) Daniel Braxton (Class of S32 HoF VHL)-Adam Schultz (Class of S31 HoF VHL) Phil Hamilton (Class of S55 HoF VHL)-Battre Sandstrom (Current player for The Riga Reign) Mason Richardson (Class of S50 HoF VHL)-Condor Adrienne (Class of S76 HoF VHL) Reasoning: I'll only be talking about one or two players on why I chose them for the team for this one. I want to talk about Petr Shirokov and Sterling Labatte, the first pairing for my team. Both of these players ended up playing earlier on in VHL and both were some of the best defenseman the VHL has ever seen, hence why they are on my first line. These players would be exceptional leaders and would help teach the ropes to the rest of the newer players on my team, while also dominating on the ice and backing our blue line. Goaltending: Matthew Pogge (Class of S5 HoF VHL) Rayz Funk (Class of S75 HoF VHL) Reasoning: Alright, so I don't know either of these players, however I wanted to go with a Veteran of VHL, someone that has been around forever since the beginning of VHL and I was able to find Matthew Pogge. I chose Matthew Pogge as my starter because of his resume, which is absolutely insane for a goaltender, winning the first ever Continental Cup in S1, winning the European Champion Cup, Playoff MVP, Best Goalie, and European Conference All-Star in his first season. This alone enough could be my reasoning why he is my starter, but that doesn't even count what he did for the rest of his career, being an allstar every single season and even making it onto Team Switzerland. This player is an absolute beast of a goaltender and in my eyes, is the best possible starter available. I ended up choosing Rayz Funk as my backup, because just like Matthew Pogge, he had an amazing career with many awards to his name. He ended up winning rookie of the year, and won four Continental Cups with the Seattle Bears. On top of that, he is a more recent player in the HoF, so I thought it would be cool to mix the old hall of fame players with the new, hence why I chose Rayz Funk as my backup goaltender. I spent a super long time trying to figure out who I wanted on the team and also trying to pick some newer faces with older faces, so I hope you enjoy the read!
  4. How goes the Philadelphia Reapers? Instead of the usual where I talk about my player, I've decided to talk about the team that he plays for, the Reapers this season! The Reapers currently are 31-10-2, good for first in the league in the VHLM. The team is lead by Captain and Goalie "Red Gaming" and Assistant Captains "Siyan Yasilievich" and "Eldon Escobar." On top of that, the head General Manager is @Masu Chan joined by @badcolethetitan (myself). The season so far has been a great experience and everyone on the team has been having an exceptional season so far. With only around 30 games to go, it seems the Reapers are almost an automatic lock on the playoffs and it'll be very difficult for them to miss. However, the Reapers have been dropping games lately and do look like they are on a slide, but regardless the team's morale is very high and they'll be looking to turn it around! The Reapers also look like a favorite to win it all, so make sure to check out the Reapers in the VHLM this season, who have many draft eligible players for the S83 VHLE/VHL Draft!
  5. Game 211 Recap: Another race to the playoffs in this game, as the Saskatoon Wild took on the Las Vegas Aces. The game started off pretty slow, with only one goal in the first period going to Aces player PJ Daniels who scored his 7th of the season on the powerplay. Heading into the second though, the flood gates started to open as Kyou Fujibayashi scored his 12th of the season to tie the score at 1. Moments later, Al Land scored his 11th of the season to put the Aces back in the lead 2-1. However, there seemed to be an answer as Minou Lambert scored his 29th of the season to even the score at 2 heading into the third. The third period was wild with lots of scoring, as both teams were able to score two a piece to head into overtime tied at 4. For the Aces, Anton Bielas scored his 12th of the season and Jack Quill his 18th of the season. For the side of the Wild, Jack Quill found his 18th of the season and the great jr found his 21st of the season. There were no goals in overtime and we head to the shootout! There were lots of goals in the shootout, but in the 6th round of the shootout, Jack Quill the hero found the back of the net and won the game for the Saskatoon Wild 5-4 in a shootout! I want to give a special shoutout to Jack Quill for scoring a very crucial goal in the 2nd period and also winning the game for his team in the shootout! Congratulations!
  6. Game 201 Recap: In this game, we have the Ottawa Lynx taking on the Mexico City Kings, a race to the playoffs for both of these teams. The first period was fill with scoring, with 2 goals a piece from each team. For the Mexico City Kings, Ryuji Sakamoto scored his 13th of the season on the powerplay, and Jason Argos scored his 15th of the season, also on the powerplay. On the opposite side of the ice for the Ottawa Lynx, James Marino scored his 14th of the season on the powerplay and Jordan Messier scored his 5th of the season. There were no goals in the second period. Heading into the third, we had another 2 goals from both teams. The Lynx scored the first two goals, putting themselves up 4-2, with goals scored by Mikayev Ivanovitch who scored his 30th of the season and James Marino who scored his 15th of the season and second of the game. However, the Kings were not out of it yet, with two quick goals from Matt Rooster and Hasbulla Magomedov to tie up the score at 4 heading into overtime. It didn't take very long for Mexico City's very own Calen McKay to put home the dagger with his 23rd of the season. I want to give a quick shoutout to Mikayev Ivanovitch for scoring his 30th goal of the season, congratulations!
  7. PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of February 27th, 2022 (You don’t need to answer every single one, just 6 for 2 TPE) 1: We are a little bit over halfway through the season and currently stand first in the league, however only by two points. Do you think the Reapers will finish first place? 2: Are there any teams in the VHLM that concern you as a potential threat to us in the playoffs? 3: Who is the most underrated player on the Reapers and why? 4: Which team do you think will finish first overall in the NHL and why? 5: Who do you think wins the Shane Wright sweepstakes in the NHL? 6: We've started to drop more games recently, is this concerning as a Reapers player, or do you think it's just a fluke? 7: What is one player on the Reapers you've enjoyed playing with this season and why? (Obviously can't be yourself.) 8: What is your go to pizza topping? 9: What is your dream team to play for in the VHL?
  8. Siyan Yasilievich - Season Review so Far Season Review so Far: Siyan has had a fantastic season with the Philadelphia Reapers in the VHLM so far. The Reapers currently stand at 24-3-1 in the VHLM with a +66 GD in 28 games and look absolutely unstoppable. Siyan Yasilievich currently has 4 Goals and 32 Assists, good for 36 Points in 28 Games Played with a Plus 11 this season. Siyan Currently stands 3rd in the league in Assists, and 3rd among defenseman in points. Siyan has been a force to be reckoned with in the VHLM and it doesn't seem like he's showing signs of stopping. Siyan had an unfortunate start last year, with only putting up 3 points in 22 games with a -8, but it seems he's really turned it on the season and is on pace for about 90 points. Siyan will be looking to continue his success with the Reapers this season and will be hoping to lead them into the playoffs. We asked Siyan what was his pre-game ritual heading into every game, to which he replied, "I actually end up eating a hotdog before every game. I started doing it one day and I started finding success, so I've never stopped doing it." There you have it, apparently Siyan's success comes from eating a pre-game hotdog!
  9. Game 140 Review: Next up, we have the Miami Marauders taking on the Saskatoon Wild, two very good teams in the VHLM looking to crack top four. We opened the first period with plenty of action, with the Saskatoon Wild coming out with an early 3-0 lead, scored by Minou Lambert twice, and the great jr. However, the Marauders wouldn't go away as Flynn Gardner scored on the powerplay and 12 seconds later, Igor Molotov, league leader in goals scored his 35th of the season to keep the score at 3-2. Heading into the second period, there was only one goal, by the Marauders who tied this one up, scored by Brooks Boleski. We go into the third where with 41 seconds left in the game, James Kagelberg scores on the powerplay to give the Marauders a 4-3 win over the Wild! This game was a fantastic one all the way to the end and delivered on the hype that is these two teams. I want to give a quick shoutout to Minou Lambert who had 2 goals for the Wild despite taking a 4-3 loss.
  10. Game 135 Review: This matchup is between the Ottawa Lynx and San Diego Marlins, who are both vying for a playoff spot at the moment. This game was high scoring, with already four goals in the first period. Justin Adolfsen got on the board fast with two goals in a matter of 3 minutes and 29 seconds, putting the Marlins up 2-0 early, however the Ottawa Lynx would strike back, with two goals from James Marino and Deron Nesbitt, tying the score at 2. Heading into the second, it was all the Marlins, who put up four goals in the second period. Goals were scored by Landon Wolanin, Ryan Zilbert, a bot, and Justin Adolfsen, who netted his hat trick. The Ottawa Lynx were able to put a dent in the lead, with Daniel Clarke scoring a goal to have it be 6-3 at the end of the second. In the third, it seems the scoring died out a bit, but there was still goals nevertheless. Ottawa was able to score two quick goals, by Connor Aguirre and James Marino, but it was quickly shut down by the San Diego Marlins as Ryan Zilbert scored late into the third to ice the game at 7-5. I want to give a shoutout to Justin Adolfsen who had a hat trick and two assists with a +4 in that game, absolute amazing performance from him as he propels the Marlins 7-5 over the Lynx!
  11. PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of February 20th, 2022 (You don’t need to answer every single one, just 6 for 2 TPE) 1: We are just over the 1/3rd mark of this VHLM Season. Is this where you expected the team to be at, the top of the standings? 2: Who is a player that you talk to who is on another team besides the Reapers? 3: The Reapers currently have 153 GF in 28 Games. Do you think we can reach 400 GF this season? 4: What is your favorite brand of chip and why? 5: What is a team in the VHLM besides the Reapers that you are pleasantly surprised about this season? 6: You hopefully made a prediction at the beginning of the season saying what you hoped for your player to achieve. How is it going so far? 7: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? 8: What is your dream job? This still applies even if you're already working! 9: Assuming we make the playoffs, who do you want to play Round One?
  12. Yessir we need to be on a team, bring the GG hopium to the team. >:)

  14. My Journey in the VHL So Far Instead of writing about my player this week, I decided to talk about my interaction with the VHL so far, the good and bad. I thought it would be interesting to share my point of view on what has happened to me so far (don't worry it's mostly good). Background As many of you may not know, I come from Hockey Dynasty. I have been playing Hockey Dynasty for about 6 months now, and I was having a fantastic time playing it and I really got into it. One day, I remember asking someone if there was another game like Hockey Dynasty, and I was introduced to VHL. I want to give a special shoutout to @samx and @JB123 who convinced me to join the VHL, even though at first I was a little skeptical about the workload and how much I was going to do. They both did a fantastic job explaining and I just want to give props to them. Joining the VHL So when I joined the VHL, I wanted to be a goalie at first, because I thought it would be cool, I don't know why. When I ended up making my player, I saw that there were too many goalies at the time, so I decided to become a defenseman. The lore of my name for my player "Siyan Yasilievich" is literally a random name generator, so that's how I came up with the name. I remember when I made my player and had no clue what to put my points into, so I ended up saving them at first. The next day, as I went to sleep, I looked and saw a bunch of notifications, and didn't know at first I was offered by multiple teams. There were a lot of VHLM teams that offered me, and I was torn between joining the San Diego Marlins, which at the time was ran by @JB123, one of my friends from Hockey Dynasty, or to join a completely new team without anyone I know, which was the Philadelphia Reapers ran by @Alex and @Masu Chan. I ended up joining the Reapers, and it was the best decision I could've made at the time. Philadelphia Reapers Locker Room and Season After I accepted the Reapers waiver, I ended up joining the discord and the locker room. Let me just say this before I go any further, @Alex is easily the best GM I've ever talked to at this point. He was super welcoming and answered a lot of my questions I had at the time, and if I ever do become a General Manager of a team, I'd want to run it just like Alex did. Seriously, he's a great influence and does a fantastic job, so I hope at some point in all of your careers you get to play under him at some point. Moving on, I remember being a fourth line player for the Reapers at the time and I seriously didn't have much expectations for myself. Alex and Masu did a fantastic job at having guides and explaining to me where I should put my training points, so I ended up building a solid player, I'd say. We ended up making it to the playoffs and I remember giving speeches to the team every day like "Don't worry guys, we're going to win!" and stuff like that, it was super funny. When we ended up getting knocked out, I kind of felt bad, because most of our players were going to the VHLE or wouldn't be on the team next season. It was great playing with everyone on the Reapers in the Locker Room, especially in the Season 81 season, it was a special locker room and I don't think anything will ever top it. Yukon Steel and the Junior Showcase Tournament After the season had ended, I was put into the Junior Showcase Tournament draft, which mainly is just something for the newer players to be apart of so they don't get bored and leave the VHL community. I ended up getting picked up by @Masu Chan, who was the Assistant GM of the Reapers in the last season. He is a fantastic GM, just like Alex, and he did an amazing job with the Steel. I ended up getting named the Captain of the Steel, in which we finished first in the regular season, and I had a PPG in both the regular season and the playoffs. We ended up getting knocked out in the playoffs and not winning it all, but it was still a pretty cool experience and I got to meet some new people. The Draft and becoming Assistant General Manager of the Reapers I then next had the Draft to be apart of for the VHLM. I remember at first expecting to head to multiple teams, but I didn't know when I would be picked. I think almost every single team in the VHLM interviewed me, so I was super hyped for the draft which was a couple weeks away at the time. One day, I ended up getting messaged by @Alex saying that he would no longer be the General Manager of the Reapers, and that he was going to be moving up and GMing a VHLE team, which I was super happy for him. At that time, the Reapers needed a General Manager, which it ended up going to @Masu Chan, who was easily fit for the job. Masu what I can assume was mentored by Alex, and now there was a vacancy in the Assistant GM position for the Reapers. I was then asked by Masu to be his Assistant General Manager, in which I accepted and we were ready to get things done for the upcoming draft. I kind of find it funny, like a passing of the torch, where Alex passed the torch to Masu, and it looks like Masu passed the torch to me, I don't know I just found it funny to be honest. @Masu Chan and I actually did a ton of planning for the draft in the VHLM. We planned out so much stuff, had a ton of documents and everything, it was really impressive I'm not going to lie. Then again, most of it was done by Alex, and we just kind of had to figure out what we wanted to do with our picks, but nevertheless it was a lot of work. Being apart of the draft was a great experience, it was super hype and sitting there waiting for you pick hoping your player you want is still there is a feeling I'll never forget. My player ended up getting selected by the Reapers 12th Overall, so I was coming back home, which I am extremely happy to be a Reaper again. The only complaint I have about the draft was that the draft felt more like a podcast then a draft, as the people hosting it we're kind of just talking about whatever, but regardless they did do a great job and I'm nitpicking at this point. What the Future Holds To be honest, I don't know what the future holds. I have had a great experience so far in the VHLM, at least, and I hope the VHL and VHLE are the same thing. Having an active locker room makes the game much more fun, and I hope to get drafted to a team that has an active locker room. For the management side, I don't know if I'll eventually become a General Manager, or if I'll just stay an assistant General Manager, only time will tell to be honest. I did say at one point that I would want to become a General Manager of a VHLM team, as I personally like helping out newer people, not just in VHL, but in many different games as well. Regardless, I've had a great time so far and I hope it continues. Miscellaneous A couple other things that is kind of irrelevant, but I might aswell post it. I met some great people in the riot games channel of the VHL Discord, where we kind of just talk about League of Legends. I won't tag everyone, as that would be too many people, but @Spartan and @Baozi (I hope that's the right Baozi) are two people that I immediately became friends with and they're super chill. I didn't even know the channel existed at first, but right when I saw it I knew I would fit in great with everyone. Well, that's mainly all I have to say. The journey has been fantastic so far and I would like to thank everyone above that I've mentioned in this media spot that has interacted with me so far. You all are great people and I will be in the community for a long time, so I won't be going anywhere, for good or bad LOL. Also, my favorite thing that has happened to me so far has to be taking down the Houston Bulls last season in the VHLM as the 6th seed. It was a big upset and everyone was super hype that we won, I don't think I'll ever experience something like that ever again.
  15. Siyan Yasilievich - His Hot Start in VHLM Siyan Yasilievich has started off red hot with the Philadelphia Reapers, who currently are 12-1-0 in the VHLM at this moment. Siyan currently has 2 Goals, 17 Assists, and 19 Points with a +12 in the 13 Games he's played with the Reapers. He is also second place in points for all defenseman in the VHLM, only behind Hammar Voss. We asked Siyan his thoughts so far on the team in which he said, "Yeah we've been on fire so far this season. My game for sure has elevated to another level, but I'm also playing with some of the best players in the league, so it helps to have such skilled teammates. I also would like to attribute some of my success to my linemate Curtis Crumb, who has been playing fantastic with me so far and I have pretty good synergy with him." Siyan will be looking to leave his mark in the VHLM as he most likely will be heading to the VHLE next season, so he'll be looking to end with a bang, that's for sure.
  16. Game 68 Review: Alright, I just want to say I had to do this for Sam. The Halifax 21st took on the Titan's Houston Bulls in the 68th match of the season. Halifax coming in was for sure seen as the underdogs, but their goalie had other plans. Houston scored early on, with Scotty Sundin scoring his 13th of the season, assisted by AirRig GoodBrandSun and Hammar Voss. Just a couple minutes later, Drew Essen found the back of the net, assisted by Sam Azjha and Cooper Skambraks to tie up the game heading into the second. It was all Halifax in the second, with Doug Matchett and Barry Bigman scoring to put the 21st up 3-1 heading into the third, despite getting outshot 32-16 in the game so far. Heading into the third, the 21st found another goal, coming from Sam Azjha to put them up 4-1. The Bulls however had other plays, where they were able to find two goals from AirRig GoodBrandSun and Ayomide Ayodele, but unfortunately they could not find a win. I want to give a special shoutout to Hunter Blaisdell, the backup for Halifax who went 48/51 and absolutely carried Halifax in this 4-3 win over the Houston Bulls in regulation.
  17. Game 65 Review: The 65th game of the season between the Miami Marauders and the Mexico City Kings was a goalie duel. Brandt Fuhr for the Mexico City Kings and Jay Saucey for the Miami Marauders stood on the head for their teams, resulting in a low scoring game. In the first period, the Marauders came out flying, but unfortunately were not able to find a goal, outshooting the Kings 13-8. In the second period, Hasbulla Magomedov found his second of the season, assisted by Calen McKay and broke the tie putting the Kings in the lead. This wouldn't be the last of the Marauders though, as in the third period Tyler Smith Jr found his eighth of the season, assisted by Igor Molotov, and Nicholas Blue. At the end of regulation, neither goalie was looking like they would be losing this one and we headed to extra time. No goals were scored in overtime, and we headed to the shootout. Mexico City Kings very own Matt Rooster scored the first goal for the Kings on their first shot, but Charles Williams the hero extended the shootout for the Marauders. It took four rounds, but in the fourth round Hasbulla Magomedov ended up winning the game for the Kings and giving them a 2-1 victory in the shootout.
  18. PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of February 13th, 2022 (You don’t need to answer every single one, just 6 for 2 TPE) 1: We are currently 12-1-0, first place in the league, and we've only dropped one game. Is this what you expected so far? 2: Are you happy with your player's success so far? Why or why not? 3: There is always room for improvement, even if we are the first place team. What is one thing we should improve if we want to win it all? 4: Did you watch the All-Star Competition for the NHL and if you did, what was your favorite part? 5: Do you eat breakfast, and if you do what is your go to meal for breakfast? 6: What is one team in the VHLM that you are scared to play, if there is none, pick the closest one. 7: By the end of the season, what do you think our record will be? 8: Have you played any NHL video games (Ex: NHL 22), and if you did what is your favorite memory from said game? 9: What game are you looking forward to this week in the VHLM?
  19. REVIEW: I normally wouldn't review something like this, as I tend to stick with player sigs and stuff like that, but I like this unique take to a graphic. First off, the text at the bottom where it says "Are you Ready?" is really clean and I like the font style you used for it. It really fits the graphic and the effect you used is really nice. Next up, I don't really know what that is in the background, but it's very abstract and it fits the whole vibe of the poster/graphic you made. The coloring you used for the graphic which seems to be Black and White is very basic, but very clean at the same time. For some advice, I would end up adding a shadow to the VHL Logo so that it has a bit more depth to the logo, instead of just something slapped onto a graphic, it doesn't really stand out to me. I also would probably add some sort of border to the graphic, but that's just me. Overall it's very unique and I like the design you were going for. Overall: 7.5/10
  20. REVIEW: First off, this is a great graphic for your first go at making a sig. You did a fantastic job and with just a bit more improvement, you'll be making some amazing graphics. To the graphic though, the logo swap you did with the Hound logo on the jersey is really clean. It looks like it actually belongs on the jersey, which is always a good sign. Next up, you also added the VHL Crest, which I actually didn't see at first, but it looks really natural just like the logo, so good job on that. I also like the choice of text that you ended up adding on the side, it really fits the graphic overall and it's a great choice. My first word of advice would be to try to mess around with layering or something, because there is a lot of blue and it makes Matthew's skin look like he also has a blue tint to it. Last, I personally would darken the Hounds logo you added and possibly blur it a bit, because it really pops out and doesn't necessarily fit the jersey as much as I would personally like it. Regardless, this is a great job for your first sig and keep at it!! Overall: 8/10
  21. Siyan Yasilievich - Season Expectations and Alternate Captaincy Season Expectations Siyan Yasilievich will have high expectations coming into this season. After having a below average first season in the league as a rookie, he'll be looking to make a splash this season. He had an amazing Junior Showcase Tournament where he was a point per game defenseman and the captain of the team. Siyan was selected 12th overall by the Philadelphia Reapers ahead of lots of players that had much more talent at the time being, so he has big shoes to fill for the Reapers. Coming into this season, we spoke with Siyan a bit in our interview asking about what he expects for this season. We'll summarize what he said, but he basically said that he wants to have 40 points at minimum and to take home the trophy this season. The Reapers are coming in with a star-studded lineup with big name players such as Eldon Escobar, Bob Chicoine, Bobby Rockwell, and many more. That also doesn't take into account returning players, in all-star goaltender Red Gaming who will be backing them in between the pipes. With a team like this, Siyan has his sights set very high and he's hoping that the team will be able to finally achieve that trophy that they have been waiting for so long. Alternate Captaincy Siyan Yasilievich was recently named one of the Alternate Captains for the Philadelphia Reapers in the upcoming season. He'll be joining Red Gaming and Eldon Escobar in leading the team, with Red Gaming being the Captain and Eldon Escobar being an Alternate Captain. Siyan is not new to the Captaincy and Leadership role on teams, as he was the Captain for the Steel in the Junior Showcase Tournament, so he'll be ready to lead another team yet again. You can already tell Siyan is fitting into his role very well, as during practices he is teaching the younger players what the expectations are for the team, and he seems like he'll be a great fit for the Reapers. It is very funny though, because Siyan doesn't have the best English yet, and he's still working on it, so during practice when he's trying to help people out sometimes the message doesn't always get through. However, the younger players seem to enjoy his enthusiasm and presence in the locker room, so he must be doing something right! Miscellaneous The Philadelphia Reapers will be starting their season on February 1st, where Siyan will take the ice for the second time in a Reapers Uniform. It'll also be the first time he'll be wearing the "A" on his jersey. A lot of General Managers and Scouts are already keeping their eyes on Siyan Yasilievich, who is the projected #10 pick for the Upcoming S83 Draft in both VHLE and the VHL, where he'll most likely be playing in the next season. Siyan is almost ready to take that jump to the big leagues, and one more season would be perfect for his development.
  22. Siyan Yasilievich - Pre-Season Interview We caught up with Siyan Yasilievich and asked him a couple questions about the upcoming season. First up, what are your expectations Siyan and what are you hoping to achieve this season? I'll be looking to take home the trophy this season. I think our team is absolutely stacked and I can't wait to get this season on the road. I'll also be hoping to put up 40 points this season, as I think I am very capable of doing so. Alright, well what is one teammate that you are looking forward to playing with? I can't wait to play with a lot of my teammates, but one that sticks out to me was my line mate at the JST for the Steel, which is Bobby Rockwell. He is a fantastic defenseman and I enjoy having on the team, not just playing with him on the ice, but also having him in the locker room. Last question before we'll leave you, is there anything that you want to say to the fans/doubters? This is the season for the Reapers. We have an amazing team and great chemistry, I think we'll be able to go far and win it all, I don't see many teams standing in our way to do so. Alright, that'll be it, thank you for your time Siyan and we'll see how the Reapers do in their first week of games!
