  1. Ivan Retoslav is widely known as one of the most consistent players of his era in the VHL,what many don't know however, is that Ivan throughout his career was actually so horribly inconsistent that it went full circle and made him consistent again. This season is a prime example, currently Ivan is sitting at 40 points on the dot, after he somehow managed to get 5 points in his last 2 games, despite him being on pace for one of his worst seasons ever. Ivan now only needs 7 points in his next 4 games to clear the elusive 500 point mark for his career, and if he can continue doing what he currently is, then that will definitely happen.

Another thing about Retoslav, his faceoff percentage is unreasonably high, every single season. His faceoff percentage is currently 59.12%, an insane number considering most elite centermen can only hit about 57% if they are lucky. A third thing that makes absolutely no sense is that Ivan is one of the greatest fighters in London United history. In his two tenures with the team, Ivan's current fighting record from what I can recall is 9-1-5. That means that despite him never training his fighting skills, he is one of the most successful fighters in not only London United history, but also in VHL history. This stat, on top of the fact that his first career fight was a win, which came against star player and extremely tough enforcer Vinny Detroit, and the fact that in Season 87 he won the unofficial award for best fighting record, at 6-0-1 on the season. Ivan's career is truly an outlier when looking at the VHL careers of players with builds similar to his, as he consistently defies expectations in everywhere except for point scoring.

As we quickly approach the end of the regular season we are going to do an evaluation Press conference

    1) Did the GM live up to expectations for this season? Why?

    2) Did your player live up to your expectations this season? Why?

    3) Who on the team had the most significant impact on our results? Why?

    4) Are you wanting to be traded, signed elsewhere, in the offseason? Why?

    5) What area do we need to improve for next season? Why?

    6) Who provided the most impact in the Locker Room this season, Why?

    1. Jacob always does, I don't think that even needs to be asked.

    2. No, 100% no. Ivan has played shit all season, and to go from a career high 36 goals last season to less than 36 points this season is honestly just sad.

    3. JESSE TENO, arguably one of the greatest VHL goalies of all time and definitely the greatest London goalie of all time, makes them the single most important part of our roster, especially considering our lack of 2nd line production.

    4. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I have retired now...

    5. Scoring depth, now that you wont have Ivan to deal with you should be able to bring in a 2C who can score while also not being almost 800 TPA and super expensive.

    6. In terms of activity I'd say me, granted not all fo that was good activity, as there were a few arguements. But also Jacob because he is usually the one to respond to me.

  3. We are now 12 games into the career of the eventual Monegasque GOAT Jean-Pierre Devote, and in that short amount of time, he has proven to be an elite playmaker in the VHLM alongside fellow Season 93 prospect Antonia Bucatini. Devote currently sits with 2 goals and 7 assists for 9 points on Philadelphia's 2nd line, a respectable amount of points considering his inexperience in a high level atmosphere and it being his first time ever living more than 5 hours from home. Devote and Bucatini seem to have already established themselves as solid 2nd line players for the current season, and come next season could be the top 2 draft selections in the VHLM. The addition of these two high level prospects has taken a decent Philadelphia team from a consensus early playoff exit, to a possible favourite to win the Founder's cup. With the current development rate seen within both Bucatini and Devote, it looks very likely that Philadelphia will have 2 more extremely high level forwards who play well together by the time playoffs come around. The one issue seen with Devote's game is his lack of finishing ability, he only has 2 goals this season despite having 55 shots on net, that's a shot to goal conversion rate of only 3.6%, the lowest on Philadelphia by far. It seems more that Devote's lack of goals is less caused by an inability to create offense, but more an inability to capitalize on the chances he is given. Luckily he has both Anderson and Bucatini there to collect and pocket whatever rebounds Devote creates, allowing him to rack up assists and points despite his lack of shot conversion. Devote has also proven to be more than just an offensive player, one thing that scouts had drawn attention to. In his tenure with ZSC, Devote never really displayed a defensive prowess, in the VHLM however, Devote sits at +6 currently, alongside 5 blocked shots in his 12 games. This will surely increase his draft stock as teams much prefer a player who can create offense while keeping the puck out of their own net at the same time. Devote's physical play has remained what was expected by scouts, as he is only averaging 1 hit per game, but with players like 6'8 Olumide Anderson on his line, he hasn't really had the need to throw hits. Anderson's size and strength alone keep him and Bucatini safe, despite their smaller size, and his physical presence is allowing the two youngsters to create chances and feed each other the puck constantly. Both Bucatini and Devote show massive signs of promise and have the potential to become some of the all-time greats from each of their respective countries. With the only true competition for Devote being an old, relatively low ceiling, Monegasque player with barely 300 points in their VHL career, Devote could easily surpass the mark to become the greatest Monegasque player of all time and, hopefully, get inducted into the Hall of Fame eventually.

    boo Lions, Schiss Züri...

;) sorry that needed to go out of my system first. ZSC Lions are the sworn enemy of 'my' team. Goes back to the mid-80s when both teams battled for promotion to the top flight of Switzerland's hockey league.

I cannot tell how much is your doing and what was already given by the Lions (who have an annoyingly competent marketing department), but it is nice that our National League gets some love (even if it is ZSC Lions)... The number at least looks like your doing and I do not recognize the player.

    Cool Idea regardless...

actually, everything besides the player is my doing, the shadows, the borders, the metal ting around the logo, I masked everything and even the logo being slightly transparent on the ice background was all done by me lol

So another week as past and we have another press conference.  This weeks Press Conference will focus on other teams

    1) Which team (Not London) will make the biggest improvement over the rest of the season, why do you think this?

    2) Which player not on London do you expect to have the most point by season end, why?

    3) Outside of Teno, which non-backup goalie was a major contributor to their team, why?

    4) Which teams first line (not London) was the most impressive, why?

    5) Which team was the most disappointing this season, why?

    6) Which GM (not London) made the largest impact on their team, why?

    1. I think Calgary should improve a bit towards the end of the season, but knowing Simon, it's kind of a shot in the dark no matter what.

    2. I'm thinking Leandro Goncalves, he's always been pretty consistent and is having an amazing season this time around.

    3. Joel Castle, he's 2nd in all stats among starting goalies besides wins and losses, definitely been one of the best goalies this season.

    4. I don't actually know the first lines of any team besides London, so I actually have no idea how strong the top lines of other teams have been this season.

    5. LA probably, considering they're in the worse division, yet still have only managed 5th in the league thus far.

    6. I also happen to have no clue about GMs, of any of the leagues besides Vasteras in the E since I'm the AGM there. I really can't say anything about how they're doing.

    BIOGRAPHY

Jean-Pierre Devote is a young hockey player who was born and raised in Monte Carlo and he didn’t even know a thing about hockey until he was 6 years old. Being born into a family in Monaco, it’s hard to avoid getting invested in racing, especially when your father was a regional formula series race winner. He started his sporting life in go-karts at the tender age of 5, and while he was good, his family could tell that there wasn’t a future career in racing for him. His father began to look for other things that his son loved, as did his mother, since they wanted their son to be able to excel at something. One fateful day however, changed the trajectory of Jean-Pierre’s life, as his father had bought tickets to a DEL game while they were on vacation in Germany. Watching the skill level of the players, as well as the edge work and skating ability meant that instantly, Jean-Pierre became hooked. The moment they returned home, he constantly began asking his dad if he could learn how to play hockey, and his father, wanting his son to be happy, obliged. Though they had to travel nearly an hour each way every day, it never dampened Jean-Pierre’s drive, and his parents were behind him every step of the way. By the time he was 14 years old, even his father, who only knew a little about ice hockey, and even less about professional ice hockey, could tell that he was a special prospect in the hockey world.

His U16 season, he joined the U16 French national team, although he wasn’t allowed to play in games with them, they allowed him to come out and practice alongside them since the manager of the team could see the immense talent that was being held back by his nationality. Instead, he ended up playing for a regional travel team in France. He played with them from his U13 season up to his U16 season, during which the team won multiple championships and tournaments. Devote racked up a massive total of 122 goals and 189 assists for 311 points in just 194 games with the team, a record that earned him the French Honour Medal for Youth Sports, despite him being a citizen of Monaco.

After he turned 16, Jean-Pierre joined the ZSC Lions in the Swiss NL, putting up a decent 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 52 games in his rookie season. He also played in the CHL tournament with the Lions during his rookie season. Although he only scored 1 goal and had 4 assists in the tournament, the Lions managed to make it all the way to the Finals before being knocked out. This success was the first moment where he gained some attention on the world stage and Devote returned to ZSC in the next season, playing with them in the NL once again and in the CHL tournament, racking up an acceptable 10 points in 7 games in the CHL, and 26 goals and 39 assists in the NL regular season for a total of 65 points. He was also given the Assistant captaincy of the team. Jean-Pierre currently is 45 games through his final season in the NL and is sitting at 33 goals and 34 assists for 67 points. His current career point total in the NL with a total of 170 points in 149 National League games, as well as 15 points in 14 games in the CHL, and as the assistant captain of the ZSC Lions. The coaches and manager of the team all agreed that Devote was a natural born leader. He was constantly helping the community and helping other players during practice. He is also a natural leader on the ice, though he prefers to lead by example sometimes, he’s the one who gets everyone pumped up in the locker room before the game begins, just as a true leader should.

One thing that truly separates Devote from his peers however, is that as it stands, Jean-Pierre looks set to completely skip the VHLM, due to him playing his U19 season with ZSC in the Swiss NL. He hopes that he can play 9 seasons in the VHL and may be the first player in VHL history to have never played a VHLM game. As it stands, if Devote makes it to the VHL, Jean-Pierre will become just the 3rd recorded player to play a VHL game to come out of the Principality of Monaco. His career goal is to overtake ACL Tear for the Monegasque national VHL scoring record, needing 300 VHL points to do so. It is this drive to succeed and accomplish his goals that make Devote such a great pick for any team that wishes to take him.

    PROSPECT SCOUTING REPORT

Jean-Pierre Devote is a hockey player from the streets of Monte Carlo. One would think that being from Monaco, Jean-Pierre would have gotten into racing rather than hockey, and he did for a while. This was until one day when he was 6 years old, while on vacation in Germany, his father took him to see a DEL game, and from the moment he started watching, he was hooked.

Devote, while not the largest person on the ice, is one of the fastest, and his natural scoring ability and shooting prowess makes him a tough opponent for any goalie or defenseman. Devote has amazing offensive vision, while retaining a decent grasp on defensive play and positioning, this well-roundedness has allowed him to become one of the greatest Monegasque hockey prospects in history before ever playing a game above the Champions Hockey League level. He’s currently coming off a wonderful U18 season with the ZSC Lions of the CHL and the National League in Switzerland. During his U18 season in the NL he had 26 goals and 39 assists for 65 points in 52 games, and in the CHL tournament he had 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points in 7 games. Devote’s consistent and balanced play style has made him a solid player and he was given the ZSC Lions’ assistant captaincy for his U19 season. Despite being so young, his coach has said many times that Devote is a born leader, both on and off the ice. Whether it’s helping his community, helping other players better themselves, or leading the team to score on the ice, Devote is always there to help.

VHL Scouts have been visiting the NL all the way through this season, and have been creating reports on the young Monegasque player, here are some of their opinions on his play:

    Jean-Pierre Devote

    Playstyle: Sniper

    Closest Professional Comparison: Leon Draisaitl

    Strengths:

Elite goal-scoring ability and shooting prowess

High-level vision while on the ice, able to make difficult passes with relative ease

    High skill ceiling

    Born leader

    Weaknesses:

    Overthinks occasionally

Not very strong physically compared to other players in his age group

    Mid-level defensive awareness

    Overall Opinion:

Jean-Pierre Devote is a special prospect, not often seen in the VHL’s radar. He has an immensely high skill ceiling, provided he is given the opportunity to grow alongside other players, and has the potential to become one of the VHL’s most elite wingers. It is also very likely that, given the opportunity, Devote will break the Monegasque VHL scoring record set back in the 60s and become the greatest hockey player to ever hail from Monaco if given the right tools.

    1. Being about a quarter of the way through the season now, what teams are surprising you with their position in the standings?

    2. The Eagles have an off day on their travels and the team has offered to pay for a day trip anywhere, where should the team go?

    3. Rank the 3 main position groups in hockey in order of importance (forward, defense, goalie)

    4. Are you the type to spend the money to enjoy the atmosphere of the lower bowl or spend less and enjoy the view at a hockey game?

    5. Eagles management is looking for ways to volunteer in the Vasteras community for the upcoming holiday season, what are some things the team could do?

    6. When commuting between cities for games, who are you sitting next to on the bus/plane/train?

  10. Ivan Retoslav, often considered one of the most consistent and solid players of his draft class, came into this season after two seasons away from London, one with Malmo, and one with Chicago. In these season he racked up 146 points in 144 games, and now 11 games into S91, Retoslav has fallen to just 0.45 points per game, and is sitting at 2G 3A, for 5 points. This low total is something not seen in Retoslav's numbers since his rookie season all the way back in S84, and now people are wondering whether or not Ivan even has a chance to reach the magic 500 career point goal he set for himself this season. In fact, since S84 Ivan has never dropped below 60 points in a season, a stat that makes this 35 point pace even more shocking, especially when considering the fact that Ivan grew as a player overall during the S90 offseason. While Ivan's point totals may be way lower than expected, it also overshadows some of his other stats this season. Ivan is currently on pace for his highest hit total in the past 5 seasons, as well as a career high in blocked shots. This defensive play also coincides with Ivan's 9 PIMs in his first 11 games, as well as his first fight since S88, and his first fight win since he won the unofficial award for best fighting record in S87. This large amount of penalties also sets Retoslav on pace for his highest penalty minute total since that S87 run, when he had 75 PIMs in the season. Another weird stat is that for the first time since S87, Ivan has a positive +/- rating, hopefully he can keep up that stat and possibly overcome his career rating of -9, while also racking up some more points in the process. Only simon can tell us what comes next for Ivan and how this season will unfold.

  11. As many of you have seen, I've been putting London against some NHL teams, and this is kind of the full break down of the teams I've put them against, along with a full summary of the final two games I did last night. The teams I've put them against are the NY Rangers, LA Kings, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Washington Capitals. The first 3 games: LDN 7 - NYR 5 | LDN 6 - LAK 2 | LDN 6 - OTT 4. I continued doing more games in NHL 22, yesterday I did LDN vs TOR, and LDN vs WSH. These are the stats from those games:

LDN vs TOR LDN wins 3-0

    Shots: London 43 - Toronto 23

    Stars:

    1st - Ivan Retoslav | 1G 2A

    2nd - Jesse Teno | 1.000 SV% 0.00 GAA

    3rd - Molly The Cat | 1G 1A (edited)

LDN vs WSH LDN wins in OT 4-3

    Shots: London 59 - Washington 31

    Stars:

    1st - Molly The Cat | 2G 2A

    2nd - Lloyd Braun | 1G (OT Winner) 0A

    3rd - Wann Kerr | 1G 0A

What have I learned from this? London constantly gets a ton of SOG, on average we have 49 SOG per game. London's GAA in the 5 games I've done is 2.80, while our GFPG is 5.20, we've also learned that Nesbitt is not a human, as shown by his 48 minutes of ice time, 11 SOG, and 16 hits against Ottawa. We've also found that Ivan, Molly, Kerr, and Triller all mesh well together, at least in the NHL game. I've also found probably the most surprising fact, Sjin's between the legs deke is ~40% more effective than any other London player, as he's done it almost every time he's tried. Molly seems to be our best point scorer, followed by Kerr, Retoslav, and Nesbitt. in terms of SB Solyom averages 2-4 blocked shots per game. Teno is doing alright but not amazing considering their 94 overall build. Teno's current SV% is .890, low for an elite goalie but not terrible. So basically London is good enough to hold their own in the NHL but Teno underperforms against NHL players.

As we have a number of new players (returning) this season we are going to do a more basic get to know you sort of press conference.

Please ensure all answers are in sentence format

    1) If your player could be hired for one company/product for endorsement purposes, which company would it be and which product?

    2) If your player could change to any other position on the team which would they choose and why?

    3) If you could give the GM a nickname what would you call him and why?

    4) If you had the responsibility to choose the pregame meal, what would everyone be eating, why did you pick this?

    5) What is your expectation for personal production this year (Goals and Assists) - I even want the goalie to answer this one?

    6) What is one positive thing you could do in the locker room to help the team?

    1. Kawasaki, for their Ninja H2R motorcycle. Just because Ivan loves speed and now the Dil isn't the GM of London anymore he can get a motorcycle now.

    2. Probably RW, he's had a lot of success as a RW both in the JST back in S82 and in the VHLM in S82.

    3. Jacob "Crazy Person who devotes an insane amount of time to this league and somehow has 2000 tpe" Carson

    4. Mac and Cheese, just because it's good, and one of the greatest things ever created.

    5. I want Ivan to have 24 goals and at least 57 points, since that would boost him up over both 200 goals and 500 points in his career.

    6. Give people stuff to talk about by making our team in NHL 22 and seeing how they do and how good they are. (also constantly try to figure out what exactly Deron Nesbitt is, no human can have 48 minutes of ice time in a game and be fine)
