  1. Time to make all of you feel old, 10 years ago on this day I was 6 years old... In Grade 1... and had probably started playing hockey literally a few months earlier lol...
  2. I still stand by my idea that instead of artificially boosting scoring or introducing a full hybrid attribute system for goalies, we could just lower the conversion rate of TPE to STHS TPA for goalies down to like 0.8 or 0.9 so that the skill gap is lessened and any increase in scoring is done completely naturally without the possibility of breaking settings in STHS. Artificially boosting scoring could have unforeseen consequences that cause certain parts of the sim to become more messed up in the future, which is why I feel we just shouldn't mess with sliders.
  3. 1. Hard to tell, Simon loves to do Simon things, so I wouldn't make any calls yet. 2. There's always a possibility, but as we've come to know from Simon, the expected outcome is almost never the one that actually happens, just look at Cologne this season in the E. 4. He has a few that I've actually mentioned in my MS posts throughout the past season and a half. Some of the best and most iconic one being "Monegasque McJesus". 5. Two-Way Forward, just from looking at his VHLM season you can tell that Devote is a TWF. Hell he even won the award for his performance last season. 6. I personally like the VHL logo the most, but that's a side effect of it being the most clean one since it has less letters. It is also the base logo for the rest of the leagues so it's kinda hard to not choose it. 8. Honestly depends, if your hero is someone like an actor then for sure, but if your hero is an athlete then I think it'll probably be fine. Most athletes recognize where they've come from and are actually good people, where a lot of actors have bad reputations for how they treat their fans.
  4. I agree with you here, an example would be the flagged donation that I had when Z tried to donate for me. That issue resulted in a change in wording for the CoC regarding donating for others to make it abundantly clear that you cannot donate for others unless it is for the holiday drive. The issue came when the donation remained flagged and V2 wouldnt tell me why. I spent the entire week worrying about if I'd broken a major rule, to the point where it was only resolved once I asked Bek what was going on. And then he handled it in under 45 minutes after my first message to him was sent. It shouldn't take a week for something to be doen when simply messaging the commish about it gets it done immediately.
  5. If I ever do another list like this then there's a good chance he goes onto it lol
  6. Nah I was your last 1st rounder as GM iirc, I think Dil drafted Molly, also W retirement
  7. Just went through a bunch of my old articles and I'm still standing by the fact that you deserve that spot lol
  8. 1. I'd name it flare, because flares fly up into the sky, like birds, and are also on fire while doing so, like phoenixes are! 2. I don't think there's a question that San Jose deserves it, they're the only team I've ever seen lose two games in a row with a combined goal differential in those games of -20. 3. I watch F1 quite a bit, I've been interested in it ever since the 2021 title fight between Hamilton and Verstappen, and I even mention it on my VHL profile page lol. 4. I'd have to say that of the ones I've played, NHL 21 is probably the best. The reinvention of both Franchise mode and Be a Pro mode made the game without a doubt the best NHL game in nearly a decade. 5. Aarava would have to be my favourite at this time, he's actually the one that got me into F1 with his F1 2020 Myteam career mode series. 8. I know it's a little basic, but Vanilla is actually my favourite. I don't know why, but I've just always liked the taste of Vanilla ice cream the best out of all the flavours, though I also really enjoy Mint flavour as well.
  9. Monegasque McJesus Makes Landfall In Europe Jean-Pierre Devote is an interesting player, making his way back to Europe via the VHLE Draft, though much further down the order than previously expected for the young Monegasque goal-scorer. After his successful first season in the VHL system, racking up two individual awards following his 106 point performance for San Diego in the VHLM, Devote now heads to Cologne after being picked 12th Overall in the S93 VHLE Entry Draft. One of the young Monegasque's main hopes for this upcoming VHLM season is the possibility of him shattering even more National Records. Just last season, Devote broke more than a dozen Monegasque National Records in the VHLM, and with many of those records being set much before the existence of the VHLE, there's a strong possibility that Devote sweeps every VHLE record for his small nation as well. Despite a sharp drop in draft stock due to unresponsiveness and a temporary halt in development, Devote has stated repeatedly since arriving in Germany that he remains committed to his goals and that he's excited to play alongside his former VHLM scoring race rival Forum Content. Devote has also come out and said that Cologne feels almost like a return to roots for him, considering his first exposure to hockey came from a German Ice Hockey Game that he attended with his family while on vacation one year. He feels that playing in Cologne may be the refresher that he needs in order to get himself back on track and push himself onwards to the goal of becoming the greatest Monegasque to ever pick up a hockey stick. While the surroundings in Cologne may be slightly familiar to the Monegasque player, the atmosphere is certainly different from what was seen in San Diego. Due to San Diego's location, hockey is no where near the top of the list of the preferred sport within the city. In Cologne however, there is a much larger fanbase than in San Diego, and Devote has even been recognized a couple times while out in public already. In San Diego he wasn't recognized once, partially because of the small amount of fans who actually knew what he looked like. Devote has also come out to the public, already donating some money to local charities and volunteering within the city of Cologne in an attempt to come across as likeable to the fans while helping the community who will be supporting his team throughout the coming season. He hopes that he'll be able to live up to the massive expectations for him that have been given, playign alongside Forum Content should surely help his scoring as the two are both extremely talented prospects and time will soon tell us how well this season will go. 10. This would quite literally kill me if these were implemented...
  11. with your luck I'll gladly take that chance, it has to be blackjack though because we both know what that means for me
  12. 1. 4th overall, since I'm a little late to this I already got the answer but it isn't a surprise we finished down here. 2. HEHEHEHEHEHE, WASNT EVEN A GODDAMN QUESTION BABY, BEST MONEGASQUE PLAYER OF ALL TIME!!!! 3. Del Rocco was a little disappointing this season, though he got it back together in the tail end of the season and has been performing in the playoffs while Devote's been in his slump. 4. Fucking Rigged 100% 5. Adam for sure, he was definitely helped along by Devote and Schrute going on a tear, but he still way out-performed expectations from the start fo the season. 6. I've been here twice so why tf not!
  13. We are now approaching the end of the VHLM Season rapidly, and Devote has solidified himself as the undisputed best two-way forward in the league. With just one game left on the schedule, Devote sits tied for 2nd in game tying goals, 2nd in game winning goals, tied for 1st in goals, 2nd in shots blocked among forwards, and 4th in points. Not only is this season a historical one for Devote, but also for the entire country of Monaco. To date, Devote has broken 12 VHLM records for his country this season alone, as well as becoming the first Monegasque player to ever score more than 50 goals or 100 points in a single VHLM season. As many hockey analysts have pointed out, Devote can easily already make a case for being the greatest Monegasque player of all time. If he manages to retain his lead in the goals race, then the legitimacy of this claim would increase further, because he would have an award for this magnificent season he's put together. Not to say he wouldn't have a chance at an award if he did lose the goals race, as there's a large possibility that Devote could win the MVP award because of his massive contribution to San Diego in the middle of the season. Many Marlins fans are hoping for the young Monegasque to win the MVP award because they have watched before their very own eyes this season as Devote has systematically dismantled almost every single team in the league at least once, recording two or more points in almost 25 games this season, as well as 4 games with 5 points. 18 games into the VHLM season, a poll was run locaclly in San Diego, asking the Marlins' fans what their opinion was on the Devote trade. Until that point, Devote had been under a point per game and had only one case of domination, during a game against Saskatoon where he scored every goal in the 3-0 win. Unsurprisingly, the results of the pole came back overwhelmingly negative, with 79.4% of fans saying they were displeased by the trade and felt that the team gave up far too much for such a low producing forward. Recently, that same pole was run at the 65 game mark of the season. This coming after Devote's blazing run in the middle of the season where he could not be stopped by any team in the league no matter what they did. The results of this pole varied massively from the pole that had occurred at the start of the season, as the numbers went from 79.4% dissatisfied, to 88.2% satisfied. Additionally, 7.6% of fans voted that they were indifferent to the trade in this pole, meaning that just 4.2% of people who responded to the pole were displeased by the trade. Surely even this number has dropped even further now, as Devote has officially hit 50 goals, and surpassed 100 points this season. There is also another part of the current scoring race that not many have yet realized, a reason for Devote to try extremely hard to win and get the award for the most goals. If Devote wins the race, then that would make history, as for the first time in any league related to the VHL, a Monegasque player would win an individual award. This would be a perfect ending to cap off an already historic season filled with milestones and records, and here's to hoping that Devote gets the fairytale ending all Marlins fans want so much. 14. I think you forgot about me... I'm on the discord from 8am-3pm every day too...
  15. 1. Should be fairly obvious, WIN. THE. CUP. 2. The trade that Miami made for Forum content, as well as all of our pickups during the deadline. Quite literally made the Marlins into a potential super team come playoffs. 3. Pretty good, especially since Devote actually can hit 100 points next sim, here's me crossing my fingers. 4. Beef is better in my opinion, it just has more natural flavour, as well as being less likely to kill you when you eat it so... there's that too... 5. DEFENSE, Devote has been carrying the team defensively since game 18 of the season when we lost Factor Lee (which was a good thing), but he couldn't do everything, so the pieces we brought in will help a lot. 6. Ivan Retoslav Award - Most disappointing/overhyped player of the season...
  16. Jean-Pierre Devote, widely considered as the guaranteed best player to ever come out of the Principality of Monaco, the player who earned the nickname "Monegasque McJesus" in San Diego due to his mid-season performance being so reminiscient of Connor McDavid's performance in the 2023-24 NHL Season, is in a slump, and he is not happy about it. Devote's frustration with not just San Diego, but also himself was made clear last night, after yet another loss in what looks to be the worst stretch of hockey the San Diego Marlins have had this season. After walking into the tunnel, multiple fans nearby the entrance reported that they heard a long string of expletives, in both English and French, as well as a series of bangs and the sound of a hockey stick snapping. Now just a few hours later, we know just what exactly happened after the Monegasque Kid went down the tunnel. According to footage shown to us by Marlins management, Devote can be seen taking a swing with his stick at the wall, followed by him letting loose a string of curses that would make even a sailor cower in fear, and then him using his stick as a golf club and launching a small trash can more than 25 feet. After this outburst, he hit his stick on the wall again, before taking it and breaking it over his knee, then discarding it by throwing it into a trash can so hard that there is apparently now a hole in the bottom of the bin. Following this incident, San Diego's head coach can be seen walking down the tunnel, seeing the carnage left by Devote, who by this point has gone to the dressing room, and asking "What the f--- happened here?" with a bewildered look on his face. The footage then ended, and though the press was hoping to ask Devote about his outburst after the game, he avoided all media and his car was spotted leaving the Arena just 35 minutes after the game had ended. The media also attempted to get a comment from the Monegasque as he entered the San Diego practice facility this morning, though he once again avoided them and refused to speak on the outburst that had occured just 8 hours prior. While the press failed to get any comments from Devote, we were able to get a few comments from San Diego's Management, who told reporters "Devote's frustration is understandable, he sees his points lead slipping away, and he's worried that his current lead in goals could be next. Ask yourself, how would you feel if you suddenly went from 4 points per game to less than 1 point each game overnight? We've addressed the outburst privately, but completely understand how he feels, and for the sake of this franchise, we hope Devote can find his scoring touch once again and propel us forward in the final 20 games of this season." We can't help but agree with the Management of the Marlins, as without Devote, San Diego has been struggling mightily to maintain their position in the standings. Hopefully, he'll find himself again soon and finally return to the form that earned him his nickname. (537 WORDS)
  17. If San Diego could get their act back together Devote would be on this list...
  18. So SDM doesn't have one this week so... I'm doing this one! 1. S81, or S84, both are super stacked classes, though I'm leaning towards S81 because of Janser, just like Mr. Wann Kerr said. 2. Y E S, S93 all star team right now hasn't done much but Devote being one of the best VHLM players right now including first to 20, 30, and 40 goals this season says something. 3. Devote, Forum Content, and Nabokov are all super close right now so I'd say it could go to any of those three, I'm definitely biased towards Devote though. 4. Goalie probably, since in most all star games there is very little defense, so having an insane goalie helps quite a bit. 5. Hell yeah, even if it's just the selections, I liked the top prospects game, and I'm totally not influenced by Retoslav being the MVP or anything in S83... 6. That's an awesome idea to be honest, I feel like the amount of engagement possible from that is huge and it'd be really cool to see that.
