Calgary Wranglers press conference
leandrofg replied to diamond_ace's topic in Team Press Conferences
Canada deserves another team, so either Montreal or Ottawa! There's a new Minions movie!? I really don't know. One of you is barely 5 feet, the other has to duck to enter the house. Too much money is easier to budget. Arctic Monkeys, AM is the one that comes to mind. -

Watchmen Press Conference (Week Ending June 3rd) Answering 3 questions gets you 1 Capped TPE Answering 6 questions gets you 2 Capped TPE The season is about to start. How excited are you? What teammate are you most excited to see on the ice, this season? Who do you think will win the VHL? The Stanley Cup has a winner. What did you think about the Finals? What's your early prediction for next season's Stanley Cup Champion? Would you be into any form of team building, e.g. World of Tanks, your GM's favorite game, match? -

Per the VHFL rules, another miss warrants a DQ or a 50% reduction of the final payout. @ajwllmsn has missed the 24-hour limit to make his 2nd and 3rd rounds selections. Another miss warrants a DQ or a 50% reduction of the final payout. @ThePerfectNut has missed the 12-hour limit to make their 5th-round selection. Per VHFL rules, this would warrant a disqualification, but I'll follow the rules as if this was their last selection. They'll have until 11 AM EST to select. If they miss that deadline, they'll be disqualified. If they don't, they can't miss the last selection deadline.

Leandro isn't your usual VHL prospect. He wasn't born in North America or Russia, nor did he have ice hockey in his bloodline. He didn't have the opportunities others may have had by the exposure of former players of his nationality playing in the VHL. Instead, he unusually got to the VHL. He worked his way through the lower national leagues in Europe until the opportunity to jump to the VHL arose, as an older player, through Free Agency in the VHLM. He didn't squander that opportunity, choosing Mississauga for the playing time over offers from Houston, who ended up going to the Founder's Cup Finals. He did get traded to Mexico City in a nice haul for the Mississauga team after he showed flashes of brilliance in an underwhelming team. After a great season and a brilliant playoff run show, it was time to enter the drafts. Leandro didn't look for much, but the team which chose him had everything he ever wanted. Calgary. Of course, he wasn't ready for the VHL last season, so he committed to one season in the VHLE. Entering the VHLE draft as one of the best players available, he was chosen 1st overall by the Vasteras Iron Eagles. In one of the best showings by any team in the VHLE, the Vasteras showed brilliance all-around. Leandro had a quality season as one of the best in the Vasteras squad, leading the 1st-line. Good because it wasn't made of overwhelming stats, but certainly with an overwhelming presence. The Iron Eagles seemed poised to win the Renaissance Cup but were beaten by the Bratislava Watchmen in the Finals. This has been a small round-up of Leandro's career until now, but what about his VHL future? What are his expectations? Not only for his rookie year but for his career too. Could he have any reservations about it? Let's see what the prospect had to say about it when we asked him a couple of questions about his expectations for the new season. Q.: "Calgary seems like a contender, starting the season. What does it feel like, getting the opportunity to contend on your first season?" A.: "It's great! Our team has been in a rebuilding phase for a few seasons, but it sure seems like our core is assembled now. We're a strong team." Q.: "And personally, what are your goals?" A.: "What are you expecting me to tell you?" he said with a smile on his face, "Of course, I'd like to have a campaign worthy of the acclaim of Rookie of The Year, but that may be difficult playing in Calgary and having the reigning MVP, Saku Kotkakoivu, and Daniel Janser. Not to mention Landon Wolanin, who's also aiming for that honor. Instead, I'll aim to follow AirRig's footsteps and get my name on the All-VHL Rookie Team." That was it. There's no doubt the kid is humble, part of a great locker room, and poised to have a great career. But no matter what he says to downplay expectations, he will have his share of the spotlight in Calgary. And he'll be expected to play well enough to have his name written in S83's VHL Rookie of the Year Trophy.

Those great stats and gold medal look great on you! Wish I could have squeezed a few more goals out of PJ, but he was into that team play! Now it's time we meet in the VHL! I guess we should both be fighting for the North American Conference!

The Greatest Dane, Aloe Dear's HoF Story

The changes you've requested are done! Let me just ask you this... going forward, would you rather have the year-by-year content instead of this condensed type? Hey, man! I appreciate that! Also, if you can message me the mistakes I can correct them before it goes into the portal! -
You guys did the playing! That's on you! Well, technically I did play too so... yeah!

Calgary Wranglers press conference

1. Great picks! I see we'll have some great people joining our Locker Room! 2. Just like my sigs... it's magical! 3. It has been great, personally. Team Europe's run in the WJC was amazing and we ended up getting a gold medal for it! 4. Really tall! What's the drawback? Ducking under doors, seeing dust on top of shelves? 5. Pro Athlete, easy. 6. Pro Football Player. I'm a Portuguese basic bitch. -
Count me in! Also able to manage a group!

We've reached the end of another World Junior Hockey Championship. As my selfish goal, I intended to avenge Team Europe's season 82 campaign. Last season's campaign was a heartbreaker. Not only for me as the leader but everyone involved with the team... heartbreak. After sweeping the round-robin stage in a fabulous, undefeated fashion, a debacle happened. We not only lost in the semi-finals, but our morale broke, and we lost the bronze medal game. This stuck with me, as I couldn't let it go, so I put my name up again to lead Team Europe. Fortunately, I got the call, and this chance wouldn't go to waste. The first thing was getting the band together, so I called Janser, and he swiftly said yes - and he brought a new mentee! After this, it was team-building time, and I don't think we could have chosen any better. We started by getting our returning captains, Tomas Sogaard and Leandro Goncalves. The ex-Kings partners were part of last season's effort and were the right players to lead the rest of the team. Afterward, we dipped our hands in the two best teams of the VHLE, my Bratislava Watchmen and the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Marcel Janser, Harry Hagel, Baxter Arcanum, Phoebe Bridgers, Alf Larsson, and someone who ultimately couldn't join us, Janet Snakehole. We followed by picking some of the best in the VHLE, Calen McKay, Noodles Marconi, and PJ Daniels. Finally, it was time to pick from the VHLM's best. Fraser Wallace and Svatopluk Puk, from the Marlins. Jean Mercier from the Lynx, Basileus Jute from the Wild, and last but not least, Velociraptor Greg from the Aces. This group didn't go undefeated in the round-robin stage, conceding three losses, but played great hockey as a great team. And that allowed us to go through in 1st-place. Do you know what they did do? They won the last two games of the tournament and hatched their names in history. These players are the World Junior Hockey Champions. Season 83 is theirs, and I couldn't be more proud of this group. Tagging you all, because I appreciate you! @Daniel Janser @Anthique @Is_thatok @Matt thunder @Morcar80 @jasplunds @ctots @samx @Kendrick @Hoopydog @Brandon @xNJDevilsFanx @GrittyIsKing @ng1291 @Eynhallow @Otaznik One last deserved shout-out is a fellow European, Frosty, who this past season allowed me to pick his brain about line strategy, and that came in very handy during the tournament. @FrostBeard
