  1. 1. I feel good. It was a little bit stressful to not knowing where I will be going, but it's feel nice to go to San Diego! 2. He will bring a physical presence on the ice. I will do it with speed and I hope to bring some offense too. 3. Probably not. At least not until I'm in the VHL. I learn to learn more about the league and try to find the time to do all the stuff that need to be done. 4. I don't think so and I hope not. They play a good game 3, but I hope that's gonna be their only win. 5. I'm in Canada too so yeah it's nice to celebrate our dad after what he did for us (skate, mechanic, drive, etc.) 6. Something to play sports (baseball, football) or some cards to pass time.
  2. Well 5 more players since your last post haha are we gonna be enought to play 3 VS 3?
  3. The round robin put the Warriors in the first place so the hope of a gold medal was possible. The first game against the Brigade was close, but a three goals push in the third period gives the victory to the Warriors. Champagne did not contribute offensively, but was +2 with 15 minutes of ice time after the game. On the down side, he only got 19% of the 16 faceoffs he takes. Game 2 was very offensive with 42 shots for the Brigade and 39 for the Warriors. We got three powerplay goals and Daniel Weaver has scored a Hat Trick! We put Henry Tucker in the shower after 18 minutes of play, he did not even last the first period! Champagne play a little bit better, but didn't have a point, even if his team scored 8 goals. He managed to get 4 minutes of penalties, 4 hits, 1 shot on net and 38% of faceoofs win in 14:35 minutes of play. The Warriors had the chance to win it in three games, but the Brigade play well and after 43 shots on net they win it in overtime. The indiscipline of the Warriors cost them the game because the Brigade scored three goals on the powerplay. The Warriors scored one too on the powerplay, but it was not enough. Champagne play more than the previous game with almost 20 minutes. He even finished the game with more faceoffs won than lost (55%), two hits, one shot on net, one penalty and a negative differential (-1). The Brigade had the chance to even the series, and that's what they did! The Warriors play their worst game and lost 3-1 with only 19 shots on goal VS 34. He was also the worst game so far for Champagne. One penalty, only 12:41 of ice time, 44% of faceoffs win and a differential of -1. For the final game of the series, we don't know what happen (Alex might have something to do with it...) but all the Warriors play like Captain Hook and were hooking the Brigade at each occasion they had. Nine penalties of hooking or holding for the Warriors in the game. With that type of performance it was sure that the Brigade will get the best of the game and that's what they did. A 3-2 win in overtime with two goals on the powerplay (2/13). We almost resist to all these penalties, but with only 15 shots, it will be hars to win it. Champagne play his best game, but only play 11 minutes because of the indiscipline of the team. He got his only point, a pass on the first goal of the game by Otis Boudreaux. Another penalty for him, one hit, one shot and 45% of his faceoffs he won. Alfred Champagne loved his experience with the Warriors, his first in the VHL environment. He didn't have the time to pratice and get better before the Tournament begin so he was one of the youngest players and one of the less experienced. It shows because he only got one point and an average of 14:64 minutes of play. He knows he will get better and he will take with him all the things he learn and practice before the start of his VHL career.

    Medal Games

Didn't do much as a AAGM, but I will take with pleasure a GOLD medal
  5. VHL PLAYER NAME: Alfred Champagne POSITION: C SPECIALTY SKILLS: Physical TEAM NAME SUGGESTION(S): Brooklyn Bazooka
  6. After the Junior Showcase Tournament, Alfred Champagne decided to take a little break before starting his training for next season. Even if he doesn't know for which team he will play, he can still practice his skills and prove that he should be a high draft pick. If a team is looking for a physical presence on the wing with some scoring ability plus a relatively good defensive player, he's your guy. He will probably not be a center in the VHL, but in the minor, his strength will help him to be versatile. His stickhanling ability will get better later in his career when he will have to face the pros and he will also need to learn to control his emotions and not get stupid penalties. He's sometime too involved in the game and only want to hit everybody, but sometimes you need to think on the ice to know where the puck is going to be to be able to make hockey plays. The Draft is a stressful event, but if everything goes well, it can forge a great future.
  7. Very useful thanks! The only think I would say is if it's possible, put leagues in different colors to help seeing the events of your league more easily.
  8. After taking the lead of the series with a win in game 5, Las Vegas can be the champion with a win tonight. They open the score almost at the mid-period with another powerplay goal in the series. Maple with the goal with Kagelberg with an assist. William Futch scored his 8th goal at mid-game to extend their lead a little bit. In the third period, San Diego put one in after only 27 seconds of play. The Aces scored on an empty net to confirm the Cup!!! Great series by both team!
  9. The game 5 is always important in a series. Las Vegas have started strong to take an important lead in the first period. After only five minutes of play, Las Vegas already have a two goals lead. San Diego reduce the lead three minutes later with a goal on powerplay. The Aces used also the powerplay to score, but not only one goal, but two! After the first period it was 4-1 Las Vegas. The Marlins knows that they have to play their best hockey and they try hard with 18 shots in the second period and they got paid with two goals. With only one goal behind, San Diego continue to put pressure and put some puck on the net. They didn't find the back of the net and lose the game 5-3, thanks to a great game by Travis Clark with 37 saves.
  10. 1. Some many good option! Probably William Futch, but James Kagelberg and Rustyov Dusterov are good choices too. 2. Yeah! Earn something for being active is always nice! 3. His devotion to the team and his mentally to be the best help him progress so much. 4. Enter the VHLM after being drafted. Between that continue to grow as a good player. 5. Yeah a little bit. I really don't know how where I will be picked but I'm excited! 6. As a captain it's his duty to do it so I hope he will take his responsability seriously.
  11. With the series even, game 5 was important for both of them because the winner will have the chance to eliminate the other in the next game. Not even 2 minutes after the beginning of the game, Seattle got a penalitie. Moscow take the lead early. Seattle start strong in the second period, but some mistakes in the defensive zone cost them 3 goals even if they dominate 21-5 on the shots board. After 2 period, 4-1 Moscow. The Menace scored late in the game and take the lead in the series win a 5-1 win.
  12. After game 3 when Moscow dominate the shots board all the game and finally find a way to beat Seattle in overtime, the Bears needed to step up in game 4. And they did. Seeatle strike early in the first period with two goals in 8 seconds starting at 6:40. Chara assist both of them and after 20 minutes, 2-0 Bears. They extend their lead with Williams scoring in the middle of the game. In the third, Moscow put one in the net in PP, but Seattle did the same 8 minutes later. Win Seattle 4-1 to make it 2-2.
  13. Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I was inspired last week to start strong in the VHL Funny to ear you talked while you drive and comment about what's happening on the road and how people drive like shit (probably the same thing everywhere, here in Québec it's making me crazy) I'm suprised how much shit you can say about your commissioner hahaha! The "identified as mysterious" makes me laugh so much hahaha wtf it's suppose to be? Like so many of the LGBTQ+ we have to search online to understand what that means. Would probably listen to you again even if you don't @ me hahaha 10/10
  14. That's one of the best ones I saw so far. It's very dark, but it fits with the team by it's color and theme. I love signatures that are more a rectangle than a square, but it could have been a little bit bigger. Nathan MacKinnon is a great render for a player and the pick chosen really show all the seriousness of the player to be the best. Maybe with the logo in the background it would have been perfect. 9.5/10
  15. 1. It's a tight series and the goalies might have to steal another game to get the fourth win. 2. Clarke or Velociraptor might win the playoffs MVP after the series win. 3. Being put on an offensive line at the JST to show what I can do even if I just put myself eligible for the draft. 4. They understand each other on the ice and they can make plays even whithout looking at each other. 5. It will give you a better chance to win, give you more flexibility in your line up and probably give more activity in the LR. 6. Pittsburgh lost in the first round (Domingue did well but he's not Shesterkin). My other team Montreal finish last so at least it will give us a good player at the draft.
  16. Let's go team! I won't be doing much, but I will be rooting for you
  17. After 7 games of the Junior Showcase Tournament, the Warriors lead the 4 clubs with 5 wins. We have the best differential with +8 and five of the top 10 leaders in the tournament. William Futch co-lead with 6 goals in 7 games so he's a big part of the success of the team so far. They started with a win against the Brigade, but they take their revenge the game after. The Warriors win their next three straight games (Royals-Brigade-Steel) to take the lead of the tournament. On their 6th game, they got their second defeat, but this time by the Royals by the score of 3-2 so it was a close game. The Warriors rebound with a shutout after this against the Royals even if they had more shots than us. The possibility of finish at the top position is real and we will try our best to make it real. On a personal note, Alfred Champagne is not really a factor so far, but he's trying his best to help his team and not be a liability. He only got 2 points (1 goal and 1 assist) in 7 games, but he did not play his natural position being used on the left side and at center.
  18. Yeah exactly I'm from Quebec and French is my first language. I know I make some mistakes, but I try my best to make my text understandable for you I will probably get better with time, it was a long time ago since I wrote something in English not related to school. But thanks for the good words (see what I did there haha), it's not the last time I'm doing something like this.
  19. Game review: A game 7 can go either way and it's the team who wants the win most will get it. Halifax started the game with speed and score first with a goal after only 3 minutes by Otis Boudreaux. They got the lead for a little bit more than 10 minutes after San Diego score on the powerplay by Malum Maellard. San Diego got two more goals in the second period to take the lead. No goal in the third period so San Diego win! They double the shots of Halifax (41-19) even if they were on the penalty kill 8 times.
  20. 1. The professionalism of both teams after the game. The handshake was great and you could smell the respect even if they don't like each other. 2. To win a game, you have to control the puck more often than not, so if we win more faceoff than the other team, it's given us an advantage to score a goal and win the game. 3. Have control over our emotions. Don't take stupid penalties and play good defensively. 4. Confidence. He believes in himself so we can see it on the ice. 5. Why not? Everyone has to adapt, even the bot. 6. At the maximum level. It's a great opportunity to prove myself.
  21. How many Hulk Hogan do we have haha!
  22. In 6 years? Wow! Can we see something before you stop?
  23. After wining the championship in the best league in France, Alfred Champagne he's ready to take the VHLM. In the press conference after the victory, his coach and his GM talked about him when journalists asked them what they think about him and what his next team should expect. Journalist : «Hi Mr. McGrath. What do you think about the performance of Alfred Champagne this year? Can we hope to see that type of performance in the future?» Coach : «He brings constant energy to the team with his skating and huge body check. His performance was exactly what we expected. A guy who's always in movement, wants the puck, throws some hits to take the puck and he's not afraid to go to net the net to have a scoring chance. He may not have the best hands, but his heart, his competitiveness and his skating ability make him useful in other aspect of a hockey game. I expect him to play the same way at to pro level. Guys will be bigger and faster and that's exactly the strength of Alfred. He will have to use them to have success and I sure that his next coach will love to have a player like him.» Journalist: «You talked about his strengths, but what about his flaws? What to he have to work to have success at the next level?» Coach : «Like I said, his hands will need to get better to keep control of the puck and deke the defender when pass him with speed it's not a possibility. He will also have to pass more often and to the right teammates. His offensive vision is below average and that makes him predictable. If he can get better in those aspects with the puck, it will make him more dangerous because now they only watch his shot. When I say he shot, I speak about his slap shot because of his size, it's lethal. His wrist shot not so great, but he needs at least one or the other. His defense can be better too. He's not a liability, but with his reach and his d he should be able to make better pokecheck and cover more his space on the ice. He's not lost, but the reaction time is too slow. He's young, so their's room for leadership and poise to get better. I'm not worried about that.» Journalist : «This one is for Mr. Fauchon, can you tell us about where he will play in the upcoming Junior Showcase Tournament?» GM: «I've talked to his agent and the Warriors called us to congratulate us about the championship and if Champagne could be interested to play for them. We already had a discussion about that with him and I can confirm you that he will play for them tonight. He may not have a big role, but he can show what he's made off before the draft.» PR guy: «Thank you all for coming, hope to see you next week for the parade and next season to talk about our team!» With this, it's end the ''minor'' hockey for him and he prepares for the big leagues. It will not be easy because there will be players from all around the globe who will try to be better than him. Life has been good so far for him so there is hope that it will continue for him and he can have success wherever he go.
  24. This journey begins in the East of the France, where a young Alfred skates for the first time with his father Bruce. Even in minor hockey, he was always bigger and stronger than everybody else. He uses this advantage to destroy his opponents and eventually, he had to play with boys much older than him to have a real challenge. Playing with older players really help his game because he had to use his teammates to make plays and not only take the puck, skate to the other side of the ice and blast the puck into the net. His hockey sense and IQ hockey take another step with practicing at a higher level and have a real coach to help him. His speed was always his strength even if he was the tallest and the heaviest of his team. He knows that having a big frame, had some disadvantage too. He had to put more effort to have a better coordination because that’s always a concern with tall people. His hands-eye coordination his not «elite», but we can say decent for a boy with his frame. He also had to train his legs to support his weight and to be able to skate faster than the other. That point always makes him insecure so he put his focus on this in his training. His legs are like real tree. A freaking monster. In the pro league, everyone is so fast so you need to skate like the wind to be able to make plays. With his size, there is no way that he doesn’t use it to punish the other team. In the corner, in front of the net, at the blue line to get to puck out of the defensive zone, in the center of the ice and even put players into the bench, every way to make his presence know he takes it. The other team always has to be on their guard because when he’s coming you will feel it. Some players aren’t afraid to respond and Alfred had to take his responsibility. Dropping the gloves is not pleasant for him, but only a necessity when someone attacks him or one of his teammates. Alfred Champagne is available in the upcoming VHLM draft. He compares his style of play to Tom Wilson, Correy Perry and Josh Anderson. Will he become better than them? France is not a country to makes great hockey players, but there’s always a beginning right? Open to any team, whoever wants him, he will embrace his new home.
