This offseason has been great so far, and I've had a lot of fun following the playoffs of the different leagues, seeing other people's great content, and playing in the JST (go brigade go). But coming up soon is the VHLM draft, which will be huge in determining how this season goes for me. I'm a bit nervous about it (if we could get a date that would help). Anyway, here is exactly what will happen in the first round of the draft.

Pick 1/Miami Marauders: Alexander Minion (G)
Being the top goalie at this point in regards to TPE, Minion has also performed outstandingly in the JST and will help any team tremendously. Miami needs a player like this after their bottom of the league finish last season.

Pick 2/Philadelphia Reapers: Sunglasses Joyo (C)
Currently Sunglasses Joyo has the most TPE on the draft board, and therefore would be an amazing addition to any team. At #2 this is a fantastic pick for Philadelphia, who can definitely contend this year using their many draft picks.

Pick 3/Saskatoon Wild: Yaroslav Bogyatrev (RW)
Bogyatrev is the current 2nd highest TPE earner on the rboard and should be at the VHLM cap of 200 by the time the draft is happening. With a substantial attribute gap of 6 between scoring and passing, they will absolutely light it up in the upcoming year.

Pick 4/Ottawa Lynx: Jeremy Swayman (G)
Jeremy Swayman is just about on par with Alexander Minion in terms of TPE earning, being only 1 behind. Boasting a .929 save percentage in the JST is impressive, especially in the playoffs when everyone else is going all out. I look forward to seeing how Swayman will compare against the other top goalies this year.

Pick 5/Halifax 21st: Womp Womp Womp Womp Womp Jr (D)
Womp Womp Womp Womp Womp Jr is hands down a name that deserves to be in some kind of hall of fame already. But in addition to this, they are a top earning defenseman in the draft this year, and great defensemen are invaluable to their team. He is also in sole 1st place in playoff points on the Brigade in the JST as a defenseman, and this is a team that is in the finals.

Pick 6/San Diego Marlins: Lachlan Summers (G)
Lachlan Summers is the best goalie there is, hands down. With his stunning good looks, tendency to burn things, and eerie resemblance to jdrooan bgintingon, he is an amazing presence in the locker room and an extremely consistent earner of TPE. San Diego already knows what he brings to the table as they picked him up on waivers last year.

Pick 7/Mexico City Kings: Daryl Dixon (RW)
Daryl Dixon is an outstanding player and had already surpassed 190 TPE. The only reason he could fall this far in my eyes is positional needs, because they are the third best available TPE-wise. Dixon was one of the best scorers in the JST regular season with the Brigade as well, no doubt boosting his draft stock in the eyes of league GMs.

Pick 8/Houston Bulls: John Richards (LW)
John Richards is an enigma. He can go into slumps, but when he breaks out of them he really impresses, scoring many goals. This underrated winger is a perfect player to have on your team, earning TPE consistently. He is a great friend and will energize a locker room, leading his team to wins.

Pick 9/Ottawa Lynx: Reno Reinhold (D)
At 160 TPE currently, Reno Reinhold is the highest earning defenseman on the draft board. Ottawa, having drafted a goalie already, will greatly benefit from a high TPE dman. They can take more offensively focused players later, as they still have all of their own picks in this draft.

    Pick 10/Bedirhan Paard (LW)
Having Bedirhan on your team will ensure that your season isn't boring. You'll certainly have locker room engagement from him. He's a good TPE earner whose media spots are amazing to read and improving every time he writes one.

Just to reiterate, all of this will happen and I can see the future perfectly.

    — A glimpse at Frankie Ducharme, former QMJHL star
and partner to VHLM draftee Lachlan Summers

SAN DIEGO — VHLM rising star Lachlan Summers is ready to start his ring collection in preparation for his eventual journey to a championship— by getting married.

Confirmed by photos shared on the goaltender’s Instagram account, he has tied the knot with longtime partner, François “Frankie” Ducharme, a former QMJHL player from Sorel-Tracy. The San Diego Marlins also shared this exciting news on their social media.

Their wedding came five months after Ducharme had initially popped the question to Summers, and the two held a small and private but lively ceremony at Sunset Cliffs where only their closest friends and family had attended. Both men can be seen donning stunning tuxedos with the California waves acting as their backdrop in photos posted online.

Ducharme had reportedly just arrived in the city of San Diego after the conclusion of the Junior Showcase Tournament, prepared to stand by his husband’s side as the VHLM draft looms ahead. He, along with the rest of their loved ones, are highly anticipating hearing Summers’ name announced on draft day, and claims he knows the Aussie has what it takes to dominate in the VHLM and beyond.

Multiple sources have also stated that after the netminder’s hockey-playing days are over, he will be taking Ducharme’s last name.

Are these two the new hockey power couple of the century? Stay tuned.

With the VHLM GM's being announced this means that the draft date for the S85 VHLM draft should be announced soon. Congrats to Jason who got the AGM job with Ottawa by the way. As the draft approaches and more and more anticipation builds up as the hype gets louder I thought it would be nice to make a media spot of my thoughts before the draft happens.

I have made some great friends in the VHL and although playing alongside them will be impractical it's not impossible. We are all consistent earners and would love to be drafted to the same team but we also know that there is a great possibility that it may not happen. There are rumours that Miami traded for a second round pick so they could take my friend with that pick and whether it happens or not, whoever does pick Kirby in the draft will be extremely happy with their choice.

Kirby or Lachlan Summers, is an extremely good, talented, young goaltender in the VHLM spending this past season with the San Diego Marlins, in the JST with the Dehli Pickles and the Pro Am with the Arctic Ground Squirrels. Lachlan was a vital piece to the Pickles roster and helped the us win games. They have a great personality and they're really friendly.

The other person I would like to be drafted with if possible is Sadie St Louis.

Sadie is an absolute unit on the ice, she came into the VHL the same time I did. Our first 3 games together in San Diego were bad. She had 14 shots on goal but nothing to show for her efforts but ever since then she tore up the league. Sadly in the JST she was protected from the expansion draft so therefore Lemorse could not pick her to be on the Pickles, instead she stayed on the Brigade who I believe are up 3-1 in the finals right now. In the Pro Am she is part of the Arctic Ground Squirrels so she plays alongside Lachlan Summers again. She is an incredible person and very motivated to earn TPE this is why I can see some teams being high on the likes of Sadie.

    Now for John Richards.

John Richards isn't perfect he tries to be the best he can be and he's pretty good at shooting but also can pass the puck like no other. He finished the season with San Diego at just under a point per game and the same thing in the JST. In the Pro Am, John Richards plays for the Atlantic City Angus, unfortunately he did not get the opportunity to play alongside Sadie outside the VHLM but he's hoping that doesn't change heading into the draft. He likes the team he plays for in the Pro Am and is ready to suit up for game 1 tomorrow. He hopes to be drafted to a team who also picks one of if not both of Sadie and Kirby but knows this is a difficult thing to ask and so he simply just has hope.

These are my thoughts on the upcoming S85 VHLM draft hopefully a team can keep the trio together.
