MAC DRE
Position - RW
Height - 6'1
Weight - 220 lbs
Age - 17
Born In - Fort Worth, Texas
Although born in Fort Worth, Mac moved to Rochester, New York at age Four. This is where Mac Dre's love for hockey was born, he started out in the Rochester Peewee leagues from a young age. Mac grew up a New York Rangers Fan during the era of a Ryan Callahan Captaincy, a young Kris Kreider, and a strong Henrik Lundqvist. Mac has never been the biggest guy on the ice but his grit and aggressiveness is unmatched, as he grew up with 4 older brothers who never let up, on and off the ice. Mac's father had always been passionate about the sport of hockey, so Mac and his brothers were engulfed in the culture at a young age. Mac has never been the biggest, or strongest on the ice but his tenacity, grit, and aggressiveness are unmatched. Up until the age of 15 Mac played on 2 different local travel hockey teams as well as house leagues throughout Upstate Ny, and the Toronto area. At the age of 16 Mac was recruited to play with the Cape Breton Eagles, an opportunity he knew he had to take advantage of. In Mac's first season as a Cape Breton Eagle he put up 92 points (39 Goals, 53 Assists, 14 Power Play Points) and had an impressive defensive outlook. Mac is a unique player on the ice, but if he had to be compared to anybody, it would be Brad Marchand, a gritty Two Way scorer. After such a successful season in the QMJHL, Mac felt it would be a good time to move to the VHLM where he can face some real talent and put himself to the test. Mac has just signed a $1.5 million contract with the Ottawa Lynx, and he is ready to be a breakout star. Mac is unsure of his future beyond the VHLM, but it is more and more likely that the NHL will not be a part of his future. Hopefully his future holds a roster spot in the VHLE and eventually the VHL. Mac definitely has his eyes set on championship trophies, and this will likely influence his career choices moving forward. His outlook looks very bright with the Ottawa Lynx and he is working to ensure to establish consistency, and talent out on the ice with his new team!
Player Type - Mac would classify as a Goal scoring Forward, who still has value on the Defensive end of the ice, and is not afraid to put his body on the line every once and a while.
