Theme Week Season 91: Recruitment: Alright, it’s been a while since I’ve typed out a media spot, but a doubles week is definitely the time to knock the rust off! This one hits close to home because of my love hate relationship with Scurvy aka Brian Payne aka Logan Ninefingers! I have the unfortunate task of seeing Scurvy’s ugly mug daily at work. I remember when he would talk about the VHL and at first I thought it was fantasy hockey…just couldn’t really wrap my head around it. I’ve “played” x box hockey (aka the sticks) with Scurvy for years, but that had fizzled out in the past year or so…anyways for weeks he would bust my chops everyday in an attempt to get me to join. After unrelenting “recruitment”, Rip Wheeler was born. Now Scurvy and Sharky will tell you that I’m closer to a “Jimmy Herdstram” type than a badass like Rip…but that’s what haters do, they hate! I remember when I first began my VHL journey it was really complicated and I struggled a bit. I was lucky that all of my GMs have been really helpful and understanding. I’m a single dad and have a pretty busy life…and sometimes I don’t have the time to get all my point tasks done…and honesty sometimes I just forget! I know Scurvy was pretty pumped that I stuck with it long enough for him to get his TPE based “recruitment” bonus! Probably the only time he actually showed me some love on his “around the league” weekly recaps. Haha As I’ve navigated my VHL journey some of the highlights were talking shit to Scurvy and Sharky and also leading the league in hits for a short time! lol After an off season of soul searching, Rip has turned over a new leaf and is committed to putting up some points for the club instead of just crushing souls out on the ice. I’m glad Scurvy kept on me and now I’m in a spot with a stud GM in Ricer that has helped me navigate (and hold me accountable for) my TPE tasks, a more productive direction for Rip! As I think of the word “recruitment”, it makes me think about college football. Having a high school prospect with the ball caps of 4 different schools in front of him. Family, fanfare, live coverage in ESPN, it can be a circus. I would say that situation and free agency in pro sports would be the two situations were recruiting is truly a competitive sport. Unlike a draft where the prospect is almost selling himself or recruiting teams to draft him, the latter is about the player being in charge of their own destiny, and that’s something I can appreciate. As far as the VHL goes, I don’t know if I have any good ideas on how to help with recruitment or make the process better. I know that the recruitment bonus definitely helped keep scurvy on my back until I signed up! Other than that, I’m happy with the process.

Lol 3) Rip, actually putting up some Numbers has been a pleasant surprise! 4) doing great! All the confidence with you to running The show! 5) my family used to drive for Seattle, WA to Albuquerque NM…24hrs straight…my dad who stop for gas, diet cokes and a double cheese burger only! Sunday Night (well it started with morning Bloody Mary’s, then afternoon Johnny Utah) Thoughts with Scotty P! We are llliiiiiiiivvvveeee once again, another round of random thoughts from the head of Scotty P. Ok first off, Seahawks with a big dubya, first overall in the NFC West, second in the conference…you love to see it! Ok speaking on VHL things….Rips rebuild and the Wranglers reload! Ok, Rip had a heart to heart with management this off season, Pappys was the drink of choice…and Rip decided to go back to the drawing board, do some soul searching and find a better way to be the all important “T-Triple G” aka Team Guy, Glue Guy. With that said Ol Ripper put in the work getting his scoring, passing and skills up to help the boys out in the O-zone…and he definitely leaned out a bit. I’m interested to see how this works out, but excited to have Rip contribute to a quickly rebuilt and reloaded roster. This season is coming up quick and I can’t wait to see the Wranglers start shocking the league with some serious fire power from the incoming group of players. Speaking of that, the whole offense for the Wranglers minus Rip and Mason Rice are new faces. And what a group of studs they are! Randy Bobandy, Catia Goncalves (my pick for rookie of the year), the shake man himself Oreo McFleury, Sadie St. Louis, and Raimo Touminen who lit it up last year for Houston on the M! I can’t wait for Rip to get some playing time with all of these players and I didn’t even mention some of the big additions on the back end! I’ll save some of that for next week, but the future in Calgary is bright, that I can assure you! Wranglers, let’s riiiiiiide!
-
1) Thrilled to have those two as AGM! Both Wrangler legends! Seems to be going great so far! 2) I think the additions, especially Oreo McFleury was a huge upgrade for the team! 3) Rip! With a total overhaul with TPE distribution, Rip is ready to crush it this season! 4) Goncalves has a great chance and is crushing TPE! 5) 100%! Chicken wings are better than nuggets all day every day! Love to hear about it! Haha 6) Two eggs over easy, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast.

Sunday night margarita thoughts with Scotty P! New wranglers edition! Alright! We arrreee liiivvveee! Back on another Sunday, and after a few Margs I’m ready to rock! Let’s talk about the dark horse contenders for next season, yes it’s the whiskey drinking cowboys, THE Calgary Wranglers! Ricer13 has added some high level players to the mix for this upcoming season. I’ll list some of them here with a few thoughts about the future. Catia Goncalves - total stud with 85 pts in 73 games for Oslo last season in the E! 520 shots! Which is an insane number, and 149 hits show that Catia isn’t afraid to use the body to send a message, you love to see it! Oreo McFleury - Almost a point per game player and named after the best cookie on the planet. A big time playoff producer averaging over a point per game last playoffs. Oreo is gonna make an instant impact in Calgary this season! Sadie St. Louis - after a great season last year in Riga, Sadie is bring her talents to the Wranglers! 87 points in 72 game, Sadie brings the heat game in and game out. 492 shots is another metric that shows Sadie is all in all the time. These new additions to the Wranglers are the perfect complement to the already young and hungry core. Rip looks forward to hitting everything that moves and creating space for these three new studs that will help return Calgary to top of the standings!

1) Excited for the new blood, looking forward to a competitive season! 2) Janser (I know the draft already happened) would be an awesome legacy pick that would quickly make his way up to the big club and make an impact. 3) Nah, rebuilding is part of the process, embrace it! Haha 4) I think they all have the potential, excited to see who steps up! 5) cheesecake 6) fruitcake! Haha

Sunday Night Whiskey Thoughts with Scotty P. aka Rippy Dubs! Alriiiight we are back and liiiiive on another Sunday night whiskey fueled night of random thoughts! This weekends drink of choice is Basil Haden Dark Rye…and damn it’s good! First off, let’s start off with the obvious, the Seahawks shit the bed in the second half of their American football game today and it hurt my soul! But the eagles and 49ers also lost, so this Sunday wasn’t a total loss! Next up, Kraken Hockey babyyyy!! The boys are winless on the season so far, but I loved Joey Daccords effort in net last night and I think the wins are gonna come sooner than later. Lastly, and so I get that sweet 2 TPE, let’s talk THE Victory Hockey League! The whiskey drinking cowboys themselves, the pride of Calgary, the Wrangler’s have pick #4 in this seasons VHL draft! I was thinking about last season, which was a huge leap for Rip Wheeler and wondering what would be the best recipe for overall and team success for the upcoming season. I think a big name trade or signing, coupled with doing whatever it takes to bring Janser home! Callum Gary Yannick Janser, is the #2 overall rate prospect in the latest rankings, but I’m hoping our fearless leader Ricer13 can work some magic to bring a legendary and familiar name back to the squad. Truth be told, whoever is lucky enough to wear Wrangler crest will become a brother! I trust the process and can’t wait to see what happens during the upcoming draft. As long as we don’t draft any player associated with Scurvy, I’ll be happy! If this article is successful I will reach 600 TPE! It’s been a bit of a struggle at times, but I’m excited for this season and committed to making Rip an absolute savage, hit machine and big time contributor to the success of the Calgary Wranglers! Let’s riiiiiiide! Scotty P, out! 330 words

1) Prague 2) Most definitely! Happy to have him on the squad! 3) I think a few solid additions along with the young core and solid goal tending could lead to a playoff birth! 4) no change, love it how it is. 5) LEANDRO 6) Neither, heights are not my thing!

Sober thoughts with Scotty P. Aka Rip Wheeler! We are back and liiiiive! And as I sit here, enjoying my off season in Gods country, better known as Montana, I have a few things to get off my chest! First off, I have to talk shut about the lame has beens Payne and Thunder. They are two absolute “key board warriors” who let their fingers write checks their asses can’t cash! Every week, they both go around the league with a keen eye on the up and coming “hit everything” wrecking machine Ol Rippy Dubs. Allll that talk, week after week. Well thank good the Ol shee have been out to pasture! Good riddance to the two biggest haters in the game! The remind me of the two old muppets just sitting in the peanut gallery casting dispersions on the man in the arena. I’m glad those days are now over (yeah right!). Anyways, moving on…I know I have a huge audience with these write ups (1-2 views on avg!) so who ya got winning the Stanley Cup this year? I’m gonna make a homer pick and say THE Seattle Kraken! Got a bunch of young talent, solid goal tending and a bunch of hard nosed “glue guys” that should definitely return them to the playoffs with a legit chance at Lord Stanley’s Cup! Drop your predictions in the comments!
-
1) get back on track with earning TPE. 2) another big step forward points wise and taking the hit leader crown at the end of the season. 3) Davos seems like a solid bet. 4) Anand! Excited to play with the new crop of players! 5) Alllll the meats! 6) Fruit, never ever should be on a pizza!

Whiskey thoughts with Scotty P! Ok, we are live once again! And my first endeavor into sports betting happened today! It was fun and I always appreciate a good whiskey and a good parlay! Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboy fucked me over big time! I was having a few beers and whiskey with the boys….and I realized that I wasn’t as good a gambler as I thought I was. I was confidant on my parlay, and hit the 2/3 waiting for the cowboy to not suck! Anyways, it didn’t work out and I lost money. However! Rip took that time to hit the practice rink. He skated lines, he did some burpees, he really put forth strong effort and showed that he wants to improve. In an unfortunate turn of events Rips hard work and determination wasn’t enough. Two hang around mopes who can’t get any VHL shine decided to talk shit to Rip after a drop in session. What was said cannot be replayed in the VHL forum, but suffice to say, it was vulgar, insane, and crossed the bounds of international law! Thunder and Pain are two has beens, or never was’ in the VHL world. They came to a drop in hockey session to talk shit to Rip?! It’s uncalled for, it’s unnecessary and it’s out of bounds! These two are bad for business and bad for hockey! They take their fake clout and notoriety and shove it in lesser known hockey players for clout. I’ve had enough of these two, mommas boys, jealous as hell, has beens, trying to influence my guy Rip! He’s got enough to deal with and not to mention his obligations around the Dutton ranch! Rip is a savage, he love to check and he loves to keep those on the ranch safe! It’s a daily job, and Rip takes it seriously.

Theme Week!!! Snubb*d is the theme! Alright we are liiiive, back with R Dubya aka Scotty P! Got some whiskey on deck, Seahawks won today and I’m feeling no pain! So I’ve realized today that there is a bit of controversy surrounding this weeks theme. Apparently if you type “snubb*d” it posts as “fisted anally by a circus monke. I definitely don’t get the inside joke as I am still new to the league…however the act itself is disgusting and not really something I’m down writing over and over again or discussing. That being said I think I have the perfect topic for this week…and it doesn’t involve anal fisting or circus animals! Rip Wheeler! Second year in the show, the Victory Hockey League! After a shit show of a rookie year, Rip is finally getting his shit together. Last year, Rip finished with 3 goals, 3 assists, 49 shots, 72 pims and 129 hits. This was a truly lackluster and sad effort all around. Lots of soul searching happened in the off season for sure. This year, Rip has 9 goals and 9 assists in 53 games! Although Rips a minus 22, it’s been a tanking type season for the wranglers. What’s best is 239 hits, good for second in the league to the absolute DOG Mo Probert! So why am I bringing up Rip and what does it have to do with theme week?! Rip should be the most improved player in the VHL this season, and it isn’t particularly close! Unfortunately, the conspiracy theorist in my just feels like it’s not gonna happen! I hate to say it, but I have a feeling that two players in particular, two sandbagging SOBs, two players that are scared of Rip and want to take him down behind the scenes…are gonna be working some back room deals to keep Rip off the podium. They’ve been around the league, they’re dinosaurs in the arena, and most of all they are the biggest haters I know! Yup, little Jakey Thunder and the “lame Train”! You two mopes may try as you might, but the inevitable is gonna happen. The real pain train, the boot wearing, whiskey drinkin, body checkin savage himself Rippy Dubs is here to stay boys! When I’m up on the stage at the end of the year, looking out and seeing you two bumbling idiots in the crowd just talking shit, cuz that all you peasents can do…try to throw a few pebbles at the king! Problem is when you come at the king, you best not miss son! Both of you clowns have been ducking Rip ALL season, the video evidence is clear…during the sims, Rip is begging both of you to drop the gloves, and every time you guys are nowhere to be found…maybe tying your lace-less vans? Or checking the time on your non existent pocket watch! Bottom line brothers, you’re scared of destiny! You’re scared of the new breed! Both of you need to accept reality, accept this ass whooping and pass that torch!!! 509 words
-
1) I’m trusting the process. Hate to lose though! 2) looking for a big bounce back season!!gotta get back to the playoffs and winning consistently! 3) whoever the rice man thinks is best! Total trust in him! 4) i think staying the course is best. Trust the process! 5) 5 year old mut named Duke! He’s the best boy! 6) I love summer, grilling and beers all day!

Weekly Whiskey Thoughts With Rip Dub aka Scotty P.: Alright, we arrreee liiivveee! Back for another adventure through the VHL with everyone’s favorite cowboy (and hit leader) Rippy Wheels! Let’s gooooooo!!!! Ok, so this week is all about self reflection and what Rip has been up to this season. It’s been 37 games during the Calgary Wranglers tank season. Rip has improved his stats immensely, which I love! Through 37 games Rip has 8 goals and 5 assists for 14 points! Which ain’t shit….BUT it is a vast improvement from last season! And minus 10 is a gut punch and hurts, cuz Rip is a total team guy and he’s been out there for a bunch of goals against! However, 69 shots (niiiiice) and 75 Pims is a solid contribution to the club! Now this is where things get good….170 hits! First in the VHL! Rip is bringing the pain to the opponents! Rip may not be lighting up the lamp like he should, but he is lighting up the opponents like nobody else! Rip loves to play the body and he’s showing it night in and night out! And I’m loving that this season! I’m happy with Rips progression and I hope that he continues to crush the Ops and contributes more on the score sheet for the boys!
-
1) I trust the process. I do hate to lose, but as long as Rip can go out there and crush fools on the forecheck, I’m good with it. 2) Honestly probably Rip! Lol I’m happy with the hits and he’s even putting some pucks in the net! 3) I’m too much of a team guy to take that bait! Lol 4) Captain Phil! He’s a savage!!! 5) Probably Sons of Anarchy or The Wire…binge watch time! 6) Of course! Men in Black was more fact than fiction!

Sunday whiskey thoughts with Scotty P and Rip Wheeler: Ok, so we arrreeeee back! Light it up! Pour a drink, crack a cold one….we are liiivvvveeee! Back for another round of whiskey thoughts…first off…Rippy Dubs with the number one overall in the Ol hitski category! Banging on these hoes! You love to see it! It’s a passion of R-Dubs….so it really lights a light in my heart. Let talk about a few more of the boys. First, fuck Lame train and Jake blunder…first and foremost. Rips out there hunting for those two jokers! But on to more important and positive things…Dilly Dilly! Let’s talk about it (S88) Merome Dilson! Aka MexicanCow123! Let’s gooo!!! 8-12, which is more on the boys than Dilly, .934 save percentage with a 2.38 goals against average. Just a stand up stud of a guy, and at 6’8 210, he’s long and tall mofo! Maybe he should take advantage of the all you can eat wranglers meat feasts so that he can weigh a little more than 210! But either way. He is the brick wall that binds us, and we appreciate him and his willingness to block all the things.

Post game Interview with Calgary Wranglers forward Rip Wheeler: Season 90 Game #165: Q) Alright Mr. Wheeler, thanks for taking a few minutes with us after the game tonight…the Wrangler’s with a big 3-1 win against Warsaw. Biiggg fireball guy!”…also, let’s chat about my mentor, friend…a big bro if you will, Philly Strasmore! Aka Big Phil aka Philly Stras aka Big Cap aka, protect ya self at allll times! Let’s goooo!!…He’s almost a point per game guy from the uh ya know the backend. And he’s a true enforcer with a league leading 79 pims! He gives us all the ah, ya know ability to let er Rip knowing big Phil has our back. And he’s not one to shy away you know ah from a dust up. 6 fights?! He’s a gladiator! All these clowns keep coming for the champ and getting pummeled into submission! Love that guy! Q) Love it Rip! You always like to “shine a light on the boys” as you say…Thanks again for the time and good luck the rest of this season! A) “Always happy that the boys just got a big dub and uh ya know, I’m missing on fireball shots as week speak…peace!…Wranglers! Let’s riiiide! Q) Alright then Mr. Wheeler, thanks for taking a few minutes away from the celebration….go enjoy the fireball! 515 words

1) Meron has killed it this season! Tough to tank with a hot goalie between the pipes! Haha 2) I might be a little bias…but I think it’s a great move! Rip is coming into his own as a player and starting to contribute on the ice. Onward and upward! 3) get ride of the bots! 4) Pizza rolls and sour cream and onion pringles! The best! 5) I’m old school…two eggs over easy, hash browns and bacon/sausage. 6) Played defense, usually right side.

Preciate the kind words…from a legend!
