CALGARY - “It feels so good to have them on the wings again. It was a pleasant surprise to see them acquire Catia Goncalves prior to last season and prior to this season they acquire Kyle Toms. I was convinced that I’d have to wait long in my career until the possibility of them becoming Wranglers opened up. Glad I didn’t have to wait as long as I thought.”
 
Raimo was all smiles at practice as the newly formed “first line” got their first laps together. They caught up with Kyle Toms, who had come over from Prague. These three can’t seem to escape each other and Raimo couldn’t be gladder.
 
“Catia was also a Houston Bull but only the season before I came in. Kyle and I played together on the Bulls for a season. Kyle was always a great teammate and an excellent goal scorer. Then after the season, I heard that I was going to be drafted by Oslo. And then to my surprise, Kyle also ended up being there. I met Catia at the JST and the WJC and we seemed to click there. Then poof! Catia was also in Oslo. I was eventually traded to Rome and had a slightly rough time there but we were a deep team.”
 
Fate would catch up with them once more.
 
“I was very very shocked at the Catia acquisition considering she was just with Riga. Kyle was also a sneaky good pick up. I hope we can recreate the chemistry we showed in Oslo. What surprised me the most is that I never talked to the GM about acquiring them but… the GM still chose on his own to get them. It is almost magical.”

We are back for another VSN article, and in this article, we are going to do the S91 VHLE season preview. Just like the last few seasons, the VHLE is very competitive, and a lot of teams can have a good season and maybe even cause some surprises. So, even if I believe that the following ranking is pretty accurate, almost everything can happen.
 
#1 Vasteras Iron Eagles 
 
Offense rank: 1st
Defense rank: 1st
Goalie rank: 2nd
 
For a second consecutive season, the Vasteras Iron Eagles are expected to win the King’s Cup for the best regular season record. Indeed, even if a lot of players were called up in the VHL, the Iron Eagles are still looking really good. With the help of returning players like Thor Reingaard @N0HBDY, Kobe Johnson @Vkobe-v and Hannibal Barca @DreMin15 and new players like Callum Gary Yannick Janser @Daniel Janser, Leif Reingaard @Zetterberg and Kyle Toms @Ktoms22, the Vasteras Iron Eagles are once again going to be a tough team to beat. And in the net, they have the second best tandem in the league with Olivier Gauthier @fonziGG and Karl Herzlich @LastGoon007.
 
#2 Cologne Express 
 
Offense rank: 2nd
Defense rank: 2nd
Goalie rank: 4th
 
The Renaissance Cup champions of the last two seasons, the Cologne Express, are going to try to be the first team in the history of the VHLE to win the Cup three seasons in a row. To succeed, Cologne will need the help of players that were with the team last season like Al Land @Big Dee, Martin Kemp @leafsman and Brad Marchand @McGriddy10. The only reason why Cologne’s goalies are ranked 4th in the league is, because goalies in the league are really good this season. Indeed, last season’s winner of the Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy, Clark @cl4rk, has nothing to envy to the other goalies.
 
#3 Bratislava Watchmen 
 
Offense rank: T-3rd
Defense rank: 3rd
Goalie rank: 1st
 
Just like last season, the Bratislava Watchmen are going to fight for a spot in the top 3 of the league and once again, their goalie is going to be a big help. Indeed, WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW @rory will need to have another really good season to help Bratislava do a better run in the playoffs. The Watchmen will also count on players like BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10, Carson Walker Jr @Cwalker and Mina @Baozi this season.
 
#4 Rome Gladiators 
 
Offense rank: T-3rd
Defense rank: 4th
Goalie rank: 5th
 
Once again, the Rome Gladiators are ranked as the last team to make the playoffs in the VHLE, but Rome could very well do like last season and cause a surprise by finishing second in the standings. Indeed, the Gladiators will count on returning players like Mclean Hoover II @McLean Hoover and Conference Prince-de-Galles @UnkemptCL4PTP and new summer acquisitions like Jim Benning Jr @Jim Benning, Nick Sansoe @Tipskid97 and Sunset Moth @McWolf. Rome’s goalie is ranked 5th in the league, but just like with Cologne, Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty is not going to be the weakest link of the team.
 
#5 Stockholm Vikings 
 
Offense rank: 5th
Defense rank: 5th
Goalie rank: 3rd
 
After a few seasons of misery, the Stockholm Vikings are finally starting to look good, and they could do better than expected. However, I don’t think they have the team to really compete yet. Their young stars Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard and Spanish Moon Moth @Renomitsu are going to be a big reason of where the team will be at the end of the season. They will also have to count on some big performances of their goalie Olober Syko @Spartan if they want to cause a surprise.
 
#6 Oslo Storm 
 
Offense rank: 6th
Defense rank: 6th
Goalie rank: 6th
 
As expected, after being good for a lot of seasons, the Oslo Storm are still in a rebuild and they are still probably not going to compete to season. Oslo can still count on some rising stars like Rin Kagamine @Rin, Jorji Costova @Hybrid1486 and Jussi Jokinenegg @HearnNation67 to be competitive some nights.

1. Golf and softball are my go to things in the summertime
2. Its a solid 70-30 split. Once I start hitting my stride and things come more naturally that will probably drop to a 60-40 or an even 50-50

On this weeks edition of Ramblings I’ve got loads to talk about . I couldn’t just pick one thing. Without further a do here we go .
 
Stars pull off Major trade
The LA Stars began the off season kinda just stuck in the mud trying to stay afloat . The only move they made was bringing Defensive standout Elias Lampi to LA to bolster the blue line. That was until earlier today when @InstantRockstarstruck gold and pulled off a trade to bring Napoleon Dynamite and Svatopluk Puk in to also strengthen their forward group . This move helps the Stars out big time as they now have 4 impact productive forwards at their disposal aswell as a very promising sophomore  Greg Mckeggegger. The Stars are looking as competitive as ever now and will look to compete for a Cup this season . How will these moves work out ? Will they win a cup ? How will the new additions mesh together? We will find out this upcoming season . In what LA hopes to be a very productive successful season .
 
Toms set to make VHLE Debut !
Young Gun Kyle Tom’s is set to make his VHLE debut after 2 seasons with the Bulls in the M . The second season there he lead the teams as capitain of the Bulls . Toms is a very promising prospect due to play for Prague in the next 1 or 2 seasons . It will be very interesting to see how he transfers his game to the E and to see if he will have the same success he did in the M . If there’s one good thing that should make the transition easy for him he joins the perennial powerhouse in Oslo . Knowing that Oslo is always a competitive team makes me very excited to watch Tom’s this season .
 
Another record due to be broken ? 
Last season Nico Pearce broke the all time TPE record previously held by Xavier Booberry with 2104 . Pearce didn’t just break the record his smashed it , much like Booberry did when he himself broke the record . Pearce set a new mark of 2206 TPE . Currently there are a few players within striking distance of the record . Most notably Ronan Lavelle enters his last season in the VHL with 1935 . I don’t quite think he has enough time to break the record nor do I think the board game clue on skates does either as he sits at 1900 . But here’s where it gets interesting Leandro Goncalves and Landon Wolanin are both realistically pretty close and if they earn every possible way they can I could see either one sitting the new mark. Wolanin sits at 1850 and Goncalves sits not far behind with 1814 . They each have 2 seasons to possibly accomplish this feat and if there’s 2 people how I could see doing this it’s them. Hammer Voss also has an outside chance currently sitting at 1758 with 2 seasons left to play . 
 
There you have it folks Season 90 is shaping up to be an exciting one to say the least . I for one can’t wait to get everything going . Until next time !

Well it’s that time of week again and I don’t have anything in specific to really talk about so here’s another edition of Ramblings
 
Cooke Starting hot
Todd Cooke of the LA Stars has started S89 on fire out of the gate with 9 goals in 9 games currently leading the league in that department he sits tied for 4th with 14 points overall . Cooke is looking to take a step forward on the ice this season and is on the right track with his hot start . Alongside this Cooke has also taken a step forward in the LA Stars leadership group as he was appointed Assistant Capitan of the Stars after thy had their Capitans vote during training camp. Entering his 4th VHL Season Cooke is one of the Vets and longer tenured players there he will look to lead on and off the ice in his quest help LA win a cup this year.  #DoitforFrostyandBaozi @FrostBeard @Baozi 
 
Toms goes to Houston 
S89 Draft prospect Kyle Tom’s @Ktoms22 has returned to Houston after @AJW paid a hefty price to get his guy 14th overall in the VHLM draft . And so far Tom’s is paying huge dividends for the Bulls . Along with recently being named team captain Tom’s has produced 14 points in 10 games which is more then double the pace he had last season with the bulls . Tom’s has already hit the max TPE you can in the VHLM with 200 and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down ( or atleast he better not 😂😂 ) . It will truly be fun to watch this young gums career as it progresses. So far he has taken a very similar career path as my own player Cooke so I’m taking a lot of notice with this one . 
 
Hardened Vets lead the way
This season we’ve seen a lot of Vets on their farewell tour leading the league at some point or another in one category or another in the short time the season has been underway. Most notably @Daniel Janser and Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems @FrostBeard have been showing the league that they aren’t retiring quietly. Other Vets that are having a productive Final season are Sergey Preobrazhensky @Bulduray_1 and Biggie Cheese @a_Ferk . Of course this part of my ramblings wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention Nico Pearce @Spartan  , while he hasn’t quite had the strong start the others I’ve noted have , you can never count him out . Also on a side note at the current time of writing this media spot he is 30 TPE away from the top spot all time ! Janser is 2 away from securing the number 3 spot all time aswell . One thing is forsure the S81 draft class is full of future hall of famers and is definitely one that will go down in the books in terms of all time great players .

S89 has been an exciting one so far throughout the first couple of sims . It will definitely be a season to remember . Whether it’s the passing of the torch that will take place this year , or the records on pace to be broken , or just the pure competitiveness that is in the league this season. S89 is definitely on pace to be one for the books !

Joe Block enters his second season with the Bulls as the number one blue line threat. Block is determined to be a top defender in the league and with his activity and earning, Block will be our first assistant captain this season.

After a slow first season in the VHLM, Houston was lucky enough to watch Devon Giguere excel in his earning throughout the off-season. Giguere enters S89 as one of the top goaltenders to watch and will be our second assistant captain this season; a name we will depend on every night.

I’ve procrastinated long enough I figure it’s time to release another edition of my Rambles.
 
Todd Cooke has arrived 
Cooke finished tied for the lead in points on the LA Stars with 83 points , Second in goals with 35 , and tied for second in apples with 48. This year was a real coming out party for Cooke and is just a taste of what’s yet to come for this youngster in the next couple of seasons. Cooke bet on himself and signed a 1 year show me deal with LA coming into S88 . That bet has paid off huge as @InstantRockstarhas recently re signed Cooke for S89 and S90. Hopefully the LA Stars will take the league by storm in this next 2 seasons as their core is all for the most part set to return and be together for the next while . 
 
In the meantime while we see how things play out in LA Cooke has his sights set on making the team Canada roster for the upcoming World Cup tournament . Cooke has said right from his draft year that this was a goal of his and it is very well in reach and could be accomplished in the next few days as rosters are selected . “ representing your home country is every kids dream growing up , and I just hope I’ve done enough to garner up some consideration for this , it truly would be an honour “.
 
Oslo Wins it 
The Oslo storm seemingly don’t know how to say die or take a step back . This season started and their spark they’ve been known for and had the last few seasons had seemingly fizzled out . They were a fringe wildcard team for a better part of the year. But @JB123 wasn’t ready to curl over and die just yet . In a last itch effort to make the playoffs he made some moves at the trade deadline to strengthen Oslo upfront and boy did that ever happen . Oslo finished in third place and was once again matched up with the Express in the playoffs and for the third time in four seasons they came out on top a hard fought 7 game series . They would end up beating Rome in 6 games and win their 3rd Renaissance cup in the last 4 years. 
 
What’s next ? Will Oslo have to finally rebuild ? Will they stay competitive? These are all questions we’ll have to wait to get answered . One things forsure Oslo is not a team you can or should sleep on , nor can you count them out ever.
 
Toms lands in Houston
theres a new rookie on the block . @Ktoms22 is set to be drafted in the upcoming S89 draft and is looking like he could be a mid round steal for any team looking for a bright active player with a good future in the league . Toms was signed as a waiver pickup at the beginning of the season with Houston and quickly became a household name there. He finished the season at about .5 points per game witch is good for any waiver pickup first gen player . One thing for certain is Tom’s will be a big time player in the VHLM this coming season after he is drafted . Don’t sleep on this young stud ! He worth the pick !
