Nah, a single tongue-in-cheek .com article feels about right to me.

Rin started following Fleer Trading Card Generator: Update 1 and They're Calling it the MIS-hap
-
Drama unfolds in the Mississauga locker room as season-long starting goaltender Yor Bjorven began the first two games of the Hounds failed playoff campaign on the bench, leaving the lesser experienced Herbert Gilleyes in for a shelling that led to a swift 2-0 deficit in the series. When approaching Yor Bjorven for comment to gain more of the story, a seemingly greater issue was quickly brought to light. "I talk about this for a while," said Bjorven, who had been in a backup role in the previous 8 games before the start of the playoffs. "We bring in new goalie, coach say I've earned rest against weaker teams. I say okay. We play strong team like Houston, this new goalie still take ice first. I ask coach again, he reassure me that I'm still the number one goalie for the playoffs. I say okay, no worries. Give the kid some ice time, is good for development, no? "Then we get to playoffs, I arrive to ice early, I am told by training staff that I'm still not starting. I sigh. I don't know what this is about, but I did not come to the North America to work hard and watch season go down the drain. Issue resolved by game 3, but by then, damage is done. Is what it is." We reached out to Mississauga staff for comment, but were swiftly declined and shown the door. Rumor has been circulating throughout the league that the coach had been staying up all night preparing his strategy, and sleeping in late to rectify the lost sleep. VHLM procedure dictates that lines be provided to the officials well in advance of puck drop, and in his stressful haze of preparation, the coach simply forgot to inform the league that Gilleyes's conditioning stint would be ending once the playoffs started. We were not able to corroborate this rumor, but sources within the team refused to deny it outright. After posting a stellar 0.947 save percentage in relief and losing efforts (for a record of 1-2 in the postseason, with 6 goals allowed across 4 appearances), Yor Bjorven nonchalantly informed the press of his impending retirement in a post-game presser. "Being in the North America, it has re-ignited my passion for alcohol. The hockey has been good, but the booze has been great. I cannot wait to return home to brew a keg for myself, using this new knowledge I have learned." And so the Icelandic Ironman returns home, no doubt to cries of welcome and praise. The country's best tavern is nothing without its biggest star, after all.

Officially? Definitely not, getting a doctorate is hard As a nickname, though? ...That may or may not have been the idea This was the case with Alexander Pepper as well; if the name was ever shortened for display to read A. Pepper, you could think of me as "Being A. Pepper"

Hey, between the Louth rule and the MIShap this postseason, it sounds like there's no shortage of backups to torch
-
Yeah, I was going to hold off for s101 because I didn't want to look like I was just hopping on the s100 bandwagon. I got talked out of it after talking to a few people, though

Full advantage of home ice and the s100 backup starting for some reason, oops

Little bit of a straw/camel's back situation here, as Yor Bjorven hasn't been the starter for Mississauga's playoff games due to some line mishaps. I understand life happens and ultimately comes first, but this was something I brought attention to as backup/s100 games were starting to pile up, and I feel that there was more than enough time to make sure a mistake like that didn't happen for the most important games of the year. Thus, I didn't want to go back to Mississauga for the following season, but that isn't the biggest reason for outright retiring instead of just seeking a trade. Even right now in the M, my options and interest from teams was limited. Some clubs wouldn't draft me outright, because they still had barely active goalies on their roster already that were at a higher TPE. And while turnover is higher in the M and a position was still more than possible to secure, I've been really nervous about the jump to the VHL. I'm already looking at potential logjams, maybe fighting for time or a roster spot against other who either have slightly more TPE or are still going through their max TPE careers. I'm also looking at the s100 class behind me and seeing a whole other wave of competition that wants to come up as well, which just further limits the options of a long-term career. I've quietly regretted making a goalie despite really wanting to for about a month, and have been anxious that any effort and TPE dumped into this player might not yield the kind of fun or results I'm looking for. I don't want to get sunk cost fallacied 3 years into a career I'm not having fun with, nor do I want to fuck over a VHL team's pick because I'm not having fun. So, retiring now is the best way to just cash out my chips and hold steady for a second. I still want to work on some of the VHL projects that have been ongoing, but I'm going to hold off on making another player until I really know what I want to get out of it.

It's a good thing I came on in relief for game 2 to watch that shitshow from ice level What are starting goalies, anyway

1) Despite being toward the top of the standings, I think the 21st have the biggest chance to upset over some of the M powerhouse teams like Houston or Philly. They've been on a goddamn roll, we sure as hell haven't been able to beat them. 2) We're one of the rare leagues that actually hosts my hometown (Las Vegas) already, so I have to get a little more obscure with this one. Usually I'd say my Galveston Terrapins take the bid, but I'll go ahead and give the edge right now to the Silvis Sentinels, who received a whole media spot form me last season. 3) It's hard to award just one player an MVP award on the Hounds, since we're pretty short on particularly "stand-out" talent. Jay Sikes has been our top scorer while putting 33 of them away themselves, I'm going to have to give them the edge. ------ 1) Whats a video game you find yourself returning to, time and time again? 2) What's the coolest under-worn jersey number in hockey? 69 is banned. 3) If you had to pick a color palette to base a relocated or expansion franchise off of, what would you pick?

Following up on my initial release of this VHL card generator tool, I continued playing around with it and introduced a few new changes that should be appealing. You can play around with it yourself at https://vhl-card-template.sqnnet.dev/ The big one: the card will now flip to reveal a generic backing. This can obviously be extended to reveal something more custom to the player-- maybe their stats, height/weight, a small description about them, etc. The full list of changes isn't crazy, but it fixes the one thing that was driving me wild about the initial release: Added functionality for flipping the card on mouse hover. Updated logic/package for exporting card to PNG This fixes an issue where exported cards would have a 1-2px wide artifact on their right side Next time I pick this up, it'll likely be to either swap out the template or add some kind of functionality for customizing the back. Purely exporting something animated like this is more difficult than exporting a still image, so if we ever wanted to show a card flipping in a forum signature or something like that, I'd either need to look a bit deeper into a formal export or provide a good, clear space for taking a screen recording.
