@LucyXpher I am thankful for the opportunity to work with you. You are an amazing GM and are only going to get better with time!

@ace_five_ You will be learning from a great leader. She has a lot to teach you. Take every opportunity to learn and you will be a brilliant manager in your own right.

To all my Halifax 21st friends, I am honored to have a hand in developing the future of the VHL. I have no doubt that a long overdue Founder's Cup is in the future of this organization and will cheer with you all for that day to come. First press conference of the offseason! How do you feel we performed as a team this season?
"I think the team performed amazing! We competed for the top spot in the league all season long and put up a good fight in the playoffs. Sure it's a little disappointing, but we have to be happy with how we came together as a team."
Congrats to everyone who earned a team award this season! Are you happy with the decisions for each award or would you change some?
"I agree with all the choices that were made. Sure, you could argue multiple people for each award, but in the end management could only pick one so they had to make the hard choices."
Are you taking part in any of the off-season tournaments? If so, where are you playing and what do you expect from them?
"As a both a player and a manager I will be taking part in the Junior Showcase Tournament with the Steel. I found out about the unsanctioned ProAm tournament as well, and hopefully will be picked to represent Canada in the WJC. I just want to get experience in these tournaments and see how I fare against the different levels of competition while meeting new faces and playing with different teammates. It's all part of the experience of being in the VHL and I want to experience it all."
Saskatoon ended up kicking us from the playoffs and went on to sweep Ottawa in the finals. How do you feel about losing to the eventual champions?
"I guess it's alright that we put up a fight against the eventual champs but it still stings. You can look at the hypotheticals that if we had been in the finals, would the result be the same? Ultimately though, it does no good to think like that and just congratulate Saskatoon on their Cup."
What are your plans for next season? Are you moving up to the VHL/VHLE, staying with the team, or going into the Dispersal Draft?
"I plan to spend a season in the VHLE developing so I can be a force in the VHL right away. If my manager thinks I'm ready to be in the big leagues in S94, I'll be ready for that too. I'm prepared for whatever is thrown at me."
Every week I want to throw in a fun question at the end to see what people think. This week's question is; You get a million dollars, but you have to take on an NHL tough guy in a fight once a month for 10 years. Do you take the money?
"Sure, the tough guys in the NHL aren't what they used to be, but they could still punch my face in if they wanted to. I mean, I'm still going to take the money and let the Canadian health care system take care of the rest."

    2. “I mean that questions considering me and my agent both…yknow…received one, it’s like trashing the Grammys whilst getting one. I think everbody who received award thoroughly deserved it.”

    3. “I got drafted 31st overall by the JST’s Royals, so I’m pretty happy and excited about that. I always go onto a new team trying not to expect anything. I just aim to have fun.”

    4. “Not great.”

LucyXpher got a reaction from Vice in Lucy "Little Bites" Leitner
The Vasteras Iron Eagles currently sit 3rd in the VHLE with 91 points with 4 games remaining. The point scoring lead on the team is held by the electric VHLE rookie Gianfranco Del Rocco @Victor who has 76 points in 68 games.  Second on the team in scoring is rookie defender, Lucy Leitner, with 56 points in 68 games.  With 11 goals and 45 assists, Leitner leads the team in the helpers category, and on paper, 11 goals seems like a respectable number, but a quick glance at Leitner's shooting percentage tells a different story.  Shooting at 3.86% on the season, Leitner's 285 shots on goal are the most by any defender in the VHLE.  When compared to the defender with the next highest shot total, the problem is strikingly clear.  Leitner's former Houston teammate, Benjamin Abenduct @Schnee, has 21 goals on 270 shots, shooting a modest 7.78%.  With 10 more goals than Leitner on fewer shots and a shooting percentage that is still below league average, it becomes obvious why Leitner was approached this week with a sponsorship deal from Little Bites-- you know, like the company that makes mini-muffins?

Last season, critics of Leitner referred to her then as a "muffin factory" owing to her apparent inability to convert shots into goals at a rate comparable to her peers.  Though her shooting percentage last season eventually rose to a respectable 8% by the end of the season, it did hover around the 3-4% mark for much of her VHLM rookie campaign.  This time around in the VHLE, there seems to be no such puck luck for Leitner who expressed her frustration with her futile shooting efforts.

"My main goal is to help the team win, but when you shoot 285 times and only score 11 goals-- something is wrong with that picture.  The silver lining, I guess, is it got me this sponsorship and the team is still doing fine overall".

The sponsorship deal, which is set to pay Leitner $100,000 and a lifetime's supply of Little Bites muffins, was signed on Monday evening before the Iron Eagles would take on the Rome Gladiators in a back-to-back.  Vasteras would eventually take the win in both of those games with Leitner recording the opening goal in the first game, only 5:38 into the 1st period of play.  There were reports of Little Bites' interest in Leitner as a brand ambassador last season until her shooting percentage spiked upward and the "muffin factory" moniker fell out of favor.  This season, however, the muffin factory is back up and running, churning out muffins for goalies to gobble up.  Ever the optimist, Leitner has remained upbeat about the less than flattering comparison and has continued to work on her shot in practice, hoping to shut down muffin production once and for all.  At this time, we don't know if the Little Bites sponsorship would be voided if her shooting percentage eclipsed a certain threshold, but for the time being, Lucy "Little Bites" Leitner is rolling in the dough.

First press conference of the off season! How do you feel we performed as a team this season?
Overall, I think as team we did really well consider we ran with a full roster, which isn`t the meta way to win a championship. I was more impress in the locker room than I was on the ice as the team was very active and I see a lot of potential in the players as they progress through the different leagues to the VHL. Congrats to everyone who earned a team award this season! Are you happy with the decisions for each award or would you change some?
Team awards are always nice and I would never change the opinion of the management on who they select. My job is simple play hockey and make my statements on the ice and let management control everything else!! Are you taking part in any of the off-season tournaments? If so, where are you playing and what do you expect from them?
JST, Maybe the WJC again since I also played last season and Pro AM; if accepted but off season tournaments don`t really mean much!! Other than the WJC and the WC as playing as part of your nation is always a big deal. Saskatoon ended up kicking us from the playoffs and went on to sweep Ottawa in the finals. How do you feel about losing to the eventual champions?
Since I played for the team last season and they showed very little interest in me during the drafting process last season. I think we were robbed as we were clearly the better team just didn`t get the puck luck! I also tuned out once we were out of the Championship since I am now focused on next season; likely in the VHLE. What are your plans for next season? Are you moving up to the VHL/VHLE, staying with the team, or going into the Dispersal Draft?
It all really depends on where I am drafted in the VHL as to what I am going to do next season as that is a conversation you have with management once drafted. If I end up where I think I might end up than it actually might be my choice and that will make me pause a lot more as I don`t really want to play in the VHLE since it means Banking for another full season but it would help the team more if I play in the VHLE so we will see. Likely I am playing in the VHLE just unsure of with whom!! Every week I want to throw in a fun question at the end to see what people think. This week's question is; You get a million dollars, but you have to take on an NHL tough guy in a fight once a month for 10 years. Do you take the money?Hell yeah!! A million dollars after tax I am hoping since than I could invest that cash and really live life off of that cash. Considering now a days an NHL tough guy isn`t as tough as they used to be; I think I can turtle at least once a month for the next ten years. Heck, I might even get better at fighting and surprise the SB a few times. But I am also a former Boxer as I took lessons due to playing hockey so I have been known to hold my own in a fight as the crazy goaltender. One of my last games I was involved in a double goalie fight in which I broke the other goalies jaw when he was much bigger than me at 6`3 230LB and I was 5`8" 180lbs. Fought the other one who was 6`7" and barely touched the guy as I could reach his head so I body punched the crap out of him!! LOL!!

LucyXpher reacted to dogwoodmaple in Dogwood Talks Offseason Plans
With the season unfortunately over for the 21st in Halifax, Maple Dogwood sat down with News Channel 10 to discuss his offseason plans before it's yet again time for training camp.

"Well I'm obviously disappointed with how the season ended, but I try not to dwell too long on that sort of stuff.  We gave it everything we had but just came up short in the end. I'm still proud as heck of my teammates for what we did out there.  But!  Moving on to the offseason, the first order of business is my cleanup project over at Panuke Lake.  Panuke is just around the corner from Halifax and there's been some reports of trash washing up on its shores and that just doesn't sit right with me. So me and some of my teammates have decided to head over there on Sunday for a massive cleanup. I'm talking about the shore, the water, cleaning up anything and everything we can get our hands on," Dogwood said.
But that wasn't the only community project Maple plans on doing this offseason.  He's also set his sights on something a little bit closer to home here in Halifax.

"I remember one of the first days I was here in Halifax, we had a light day of practice and some of my teammates took he out to the Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area.  It was incredible - great views, incredible weather, and a wonderful way to actually see one of the high points of this city that I'd be living in.  I decided that once the season was over, I'd help sponsor and build some additional picnic tables, a gazebo, and to help renovate the rest area there.  There was just something about seeing those views for the first time that really stuck with me and made me want to help provide that opportunity for someone else.  So in two weeks, we're all heading over with our tools, supplies, and a major league work ethic to get the job done," Dogwood explained.

But that doesn't end the offseason for Halifax's rookie forward.  In addition to the service projects in and around Halifax, he will also be taking some vacation time.

"I'm thinking of renting out a cabin in the woods for a week, just to get my mind right.  Somewhere by a river or lake up here where I can wake up, enjoy my coffee with a great view and some privacy.  I need to decompress for a bit after the way the season ended, but I've always enjoyed the outdoors.  There's just something about nature and the quiet that I've loved ever since I was a kid. Throw in some long walks, some steaks, maybe a six-pack or two, and it's a great way to close out the offseason," Dogwood added.

When asked what his lasting memory of Halifax was, Maple was quite complimentary of the 21st.

"I just can't say enough about this wonderful team, the locker room, and all the front office staff. They welcomed me with open arms and truly made me feel like a member of the team from day one. Not just that, but they were gracious hosts when it came to getting me acclimated to Halifax in general.  It's the kind of franchise you'd love to play for your entire career," he ended.

LucyXpher got a reaction from dogwoodmaple in Pier 21: Season 93 Halifax 21st Team Awards
Season 93 featured a Halifax team that managed to achieve the 5th best regular season record and point total in their 31 seasons of history.  With 51 wins and 106 points, the 21st finished 2nd in the VHLM, only 3 points behind the 1st place Ottawa Lynx, and were one of the deepest teams in the league.  At the time of their elimination from the playoffs, the 21st had 15 players with over 120 TPE earned and 8 players with over 190.  Over the course of the season, each and every member of the team exhibited exceptional growth and dedication to give Halifax the best chance to win.  Though the 21st suffered an unfortunate loss to the Saskatoon Wild in the Founder's Cup Semi-Finals, there is so much to be proud of for this team and some particularly special performances that need to be acknowledged.  So without further ado, here are the Halifax 21st Season 93 Team Awards!

    The Most Improved Player:
This award is for the player who makes the most significant individual improvement over the course of a single season.
Of all the players on the Halifax 21st roster that haven't yet reached the 200 TPE cap, this first gen player earned the most talent points and really demonstrated his investment in the team and desire to improve every single week.  Beginning the season at only 55 TPE, he currently sits at 166 TPE having earned 111 since his draft day when he was picked 52nd overall.  The Halifax 21st are thrilled to welcome him back for a second season with the team in S94 and are excited to see his development continue!

    The Most Creative Player:
This award is for the player who consistently demonstrates a high level of creativity throughout the season with written media spots, graphics, podcasts, or other creative endeavors around the team.
This season's winner is a first gen player who consistently impressed and surprised with new ideas, fantastic graphics, and some fun creative ideas within the team locker room.  Even before the season began, this player was designing jerseys and uniforms for the team.  Throughout the season, they produced high quality graphics, each one better than the last, often with fun and humorous details hidden within them.  These graphics weren't only for their own player, but for teammates as well.  They also initiated a creative poll to rename the team's arena which will be decided in time to begin our next season of play. This player will also be returning to the team next season and we're excited to see what new ideas they come up with next!

    The Leadership Award:
This award is presented to the player who demonstrates qualities of leadership and teamwork throughout the season, building up their teammates in the locker room, posting quality team-related content on the forum, and leading by example through individual dedication and consistency.
This season's recipient is a first gen who impressed many GM's in the VHLM before he was even drafted.  Demonstrating first a commitment to his own personal growth, he quickly exhibited an aptitude for leadership through a high level of activity both on the forums and in the locker room, often looking for ways that he could help improve the team and taking personal interest in the team's overall success.  Throughout the season, he remained very active on the forums, consitent with his updating and personal development, and was a positive force in the locker room-- supporting and ecouraging teammates, congratulating them on their individual successes, and showing interest in all activity around the team.  Though he'll be moving on to the VHLE after only one season with the team, he made a significant impact on the team culture in his time in Halifax and will always be a welcome presence around the team in the future.

    Top Defender:
This award is presented to the defender who demonstrates excellence at their position, contributing to the team's success through a strong well-rounded game.
This season's recipient was the 3rd highest scoring defender in the VHLM and was 2nd on the 21st with 75 total points.  He was 4th in the league with 58 assists and finished the season with a +25 rating in 72 games played.  And while he was an incredible driver of offense from the defensive position, he also contributed 135 hits and 86 blocked shots.  He played significant time on the team's top powerplay unit while also being an effective penalty killer and was never a defensive liability on the ice.  After a single season with the 21st he is expected to be a highly sought after player in the upcoming VHL and VHLE drafts.

    Top Forward:
This award recognizes the team's top offensive player.  Like the top defender award, it is presented to the player who plays the strongest and most consistent all-round game at the forward position, contributing to the offensive and defensive success of the team.
This season's recipient finished with the 4th most individual points in the VHLM with 85.  He finished 7th in goal scoring with 35 and 8th in assists with 50 across 72 games played.  He led the team in both the points and goals categories and continually drove offensive production with 385 shots on goal-- more than 100 more than the next highest shot producer on the team.  He led all Halifax forwards with 25.67 minutes of icetime per game, 14 shots blocked, and 141 hits over the course of the season.  With his solid two-way game, he was a highly effective contributor for the 21st on both special teams units and could be relied upon in all situations, evidenced by his time on ice.  After a single season with the 21st, he will be eligible for the VHL and VHLE drafts and will likely be taking his talents to Europe next season where he is expected to continue his meteoric rise.

    The Bryn Yrwy Award:
Named after Bryn Yrwy, the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 405 points in 288 games with the Halifax 21st, this award honours a player who has played parts of at least two seasons with the franchise and has exhibited a high level of play throughout their time with the team.
This season's recipient played for the 21st in both S92 and S93 and racked up 104 points in 144 games as a defender.  Announcing his retirement at the trade deadline this season, his contributions to the franchise and in the locker room will be greatly missed as he pursues other gainful endeavors.  Finishing his career with the 21st, he ranks 6th in franchise history with 268 blocked shots and was a stalwart defender for the team throughout the past two seasons.  Though he leaves a hole in the Halifax roster for next season, he will always be welcome around the team-- provided he returns at least one pair of shoes to the GM before he leaves!  Congratulations on a great career and best of luck in the future!

    Season 93 SuperSailor:
This award is like the weekly SuperSailor honor, but is presented to a player who best exhibits SuperSailor qualities throughout the full campaign.  A SuperSailor is involved not only in the locker room as a good teammate, but also on the forums as an ambassador for the team, and also demonstrates effective play on the ice.
This season's SuperSailor finished the season with 73 points in 72 games and ranked 2nd among the team's forwards in scoring.  He was the league's top centerman with a 58.84% win rate across 1990 faceoffs, and contributed balanced offense with 31 goals and 42 assists.  And while he had a strong season on the ice for the 21st, this player was also active in the locker room daily, interacting with teammates (even with a significant time zone difference) and was consistently active on the forums throughout the season.  In many ways he was an unsung hero on the team, at times overshadowed by the weekly accomplishments of his teammates.  Despite not being named as a weekly SuperSailor this season, he was a worthy candidate each and every week and was a positive contributor in every respect.  As a draft eligible player, he may be among the first names called in this offseason’s drafts and will be an important member of any team he joins in the future.

Before concluding, I'd like to extend a special thank you to our outgoing AGM, @Will3.  He has contributed so much to the team in his role over the past few seasons and was particularly instrumental in helping put together such a great team this season.  I was very fortunate personally to have his help as AGM this season as he very reliably and effectively continued his tasks week after week to help the team improve and was always a pleasure to interact with.  I wish him all the best as he continues to seek out new management opportunities around the VHL world!

And that concludes the S93 Halifax 21st team awards.  Congratulations to all of the award recipients for their significant achievements this season and contributions to the team, and a heartfelt thank you to all Halifax players for making Season 93 such a success! It has truly been a pleasure to have each of you as members of this team in my first season as GM and I look forward to seeing where the VHL takes you next!

First press conference of the offseason! How do you feel we performed as a team this season?
Congrats to everyone who earned a team award this season! Are you happy with the decisions for each award or would you change some?
Are you taking part in any of the off-season tournaments? If so, where are you playing and what do you expect from them?
Saskatoon ended up kicking us from the playoffs and went on to sweep Ottawa in the finals. How do you feel about losing to the eventual champions?
What are your plans for next season? Are you moving up to the VHL/VHLE, staying with the team, or going into the Dispersal Draft?
Every week I want to throw in a fun question at the end to see what people think. This week's question is; You get a million dollars, but you have to take on an NHL tough guy in a fight once a month for 10 years. Do you take the money?

Following an unfortunate defeat to the Saskatoon Wild, the offseason for the Halifax 21st came earlier than they might have hoped, and with that comes changes.  While the roster is expected to change significantly before the puck drops on Season 94, there is also some change going on behind the scenes in the Halifax front office.

After nearly a full year of service as the Halifax AGM, @Will3 will be parting ways with the team, hopefully to pursue new management opportunities in the higher leagues.  In his time with the team, he made great contributions in the locker room and on the forums and was a great help to both the previous GM and myself.  I'd like to thank Will for his consistency, professionalism, and willingness to help the team any way he could.  I'm sure he'll be a fantastic addition wherever he lands next in a management role.

As a replacement, the Halifax 21st are proud to announce the hiring of @ace_five_ as the new AGM.  As a player on the team last season, he was a great leader in the locker room and it was clear that he definitely had the aptitude for leadership and management.  He had a brief stint as AGM for Miami this past season and this offseason he'll be GMing the Steel in the JST.  I'm very excited to be able to add such an enthusiastic member to our management team who is also well known in the Halifax community and I look forward to working more closely with him towards a Founder's Cup!
