  1. 1. I'll have to attribute our latest wins to Shaunca keeping those games at a low scoring for the opposite teams. So far, high scoring games haven't ben to our advantage. 2. I would like to think it stem from a more basic play style by the defense and good hustle back from the offence, but Shaunca clearly has shown a good personal development throughout the season. 3. That is not for me to speculate as a still young player I don't want to say anything that might lend me a spot next to him. 4. It has to be Doug as every other one of those choices have done some dubious actions and Doug is just the goodest of all the boys and I want one... plz. 5. In today's time, I would most likely be a stove oven. I mean, I'm physically hot everyday of the damn year even during Canadian winter. I also love food and being part of the reason for an amazing meal done with the smell constantly surrounding me, I would be the happiest of all appliances. 6. I'd be happily surprise if it was done, but you can't throw away the possibility until the season is officially over.
  2. Being a ninth round pick, I know expectation for me are at a minimum right now but I'm excited to make my debut in the big Euro league and prove any doubter wrong. I think this season is going to be a turning point in my short career so far. I haven't had the most flashiest rookie season in the VHLM and I'm anxious to begin this next season on the right foot. I only had a small talk with the GM so far and I believe in this team and the spirit surrounding us to lead our group to the great honors. I'm currently trying to shape myself into a shoot first type of player with a discreet strong passing game. I want to help the team upfront without being a liability in all other area of the ice. Knowing that Oslo has some veterans retiring by the end of next season, I want to absorb and implement has much of their knowledge as possible in my life and career. So far, every player and every General Manager or Assistant General Manager I've played with have been supportive in discovering everything the leagues has to offer and I can only wish them all the success and well being in the rest of their playing and managing career. After hearing my name in the draft the other day, I went back in the earlier rounds and I realized I'm going to be playing with a few players I've played with last season and can't wait to regroup with them and support our new team for the foreseeable future. The current JST and the PRO-AM did humble me a lot and showed me a lot of my sides I need to work on and improve. Currently, I'm still trying to settle-in to my new appartement in Oslo which is not an easy task to be so far away from all I've known all my life so far. I look forward to being, hopefully, an essential part and solid foundation for this team for the rest of my career. In the end, I can only wish for the better for everyone into his league, current or past players and Manager. All I have to say to finish this little introduction, let's keep this league competitive for seasons to come and push each other to become a better self. Can't wait to see everyone on the ice once the season start. Good Day from my new home in Oslo. 429 words
  3. 1. I'm actually really looking forward to settling down with the group and getting ready for next season 2. After the quick talk I had with him prior to the draft, I do think Prague is in the right hands to aspire to great results in the upcoming seasons. 3. I think the team is likely to take a hit but with the right draft next off-season and some waiver pickup there is potential of staying in a good place in the standings. 4. Being a PPG or more for most of his career while his stats shows he never scared away from being physically present. I do think he is a player that could be deserving of the HOF. Although that's what the stats say, I can't say I've been lucky to see him on the ice in his best years and can't make the decision for anyone else. 5. Honestly, I've been lucky on that side, I have no know allergy as of now and I'm happy I don't have to worry about the allergy seasons. 6. Sadly, I'm not celebrating whatsoever as I am currently far from my house on an other continent for work and can't afford time to go out and party. I'll just keep practicing and getting ready for the next season.
  4. 1. Overall as a rookie player, I'm content with how the season of my player went. The real shocker was the team that managed to pull itself from low in the standings to finish in a second round playoff before being taken out. 2. I usually try to mix harder task with simpler in-between. If you try to focus only on the harder task and become unmotivated then all the easier task ends-up incomplete. If you start only with easy then the harder task feels like a wall as soon as you start the first one. 3. Biggest strength, I'd say playmaking. Biggest weakness, consistancy. 4. I, currently, jump a lot between either Slipknot at the gym and Sabaton as my day-to-day listen. 5. Yes, it is my first player in the League. So far, I'm mostly liking it even though I don't manage to accomplish as much as I hoped for at the beginning with my schedule becoming completely full only a few days after joining. 6. I'm really looking up to re-uniting with Abenduct and Artav, but I'm mostly looking to know who my linemates are going to be and accomplish good results for the tournament this year.
  5. 1. We made it to playoffs and we're doing pretty darn good! Houston currently leads San Diego 3-2 in our first round matchup. What are your thoughts on Houston's play through the first 5 games? So far, I'm happy of our result and I was in the belief that we had it in us to win Game 6 with our current play and, as it appear, I was right. 2. Goaltender Ondrej Vencko @Mutti has been a stud between the pipes for us this season and will start every game for Houston these playoffs. What kind of difference does having a hot goalie in net make? Having a hot goalie can allow teams that are way outmatched in a game to still come out victorious from it. If Ondrej can stay hot for the entirety of our playoff run, I think we have real chances of going deep and challenging for the cup. 3. I know we're still in season, but I bet a lot of you still have the VHL and VHLE drafts in the backs of your heads! What team/What pick do you predict you will be drafted? Do you have any VHL or VHLE teams you'd prefer to go to? I don't think Jack has shown enough to be part of the discussion with the top picks of the draft, but if a team is willing to risk a pick on him, I'm looking on him becoming a decent middle 6 player and maybe a good draft steal if lucky. For which team I'd prefer to go, I don;t really have one in particular, but the few team who showed interest pre-draft are all part of them. 4. VHLM playoffs are closer than we thought with each series needing 6 games minimum! Has there been any series which have surprised you? Did you predict the parity of matchups to be this good? If I remember correctly, I predicted most series would be done in 6, maybe not with the same winners than what happened but I'm fairly happy with my power of prediction. 5. OUCH!! I stubbed my toe on the corner of my desk and I need the day off. The pain, the suffering... it's too immense. I told AGM @Nathan_8 to take over for the day and he wants to bag skate everyone?... WTF NATHAN!?!? We need to figure out a plan to get revenge on him for his tyrant actions. What prank/revenge act are you and the team pulling on our AGM for making everyone bag skate? As a harmless prank, we could just tie every loop of his skates together and then you hide every blades, including the one on his skates, somewhere. It wouldn't make him unable to make practice but It would make it fun to watch him try to find his blades and try to undo every singles knots on his laces. 6. It's reading week in Canada for most universities and a lot of people are making me jealous while on their vacations. It's probably daddy's money I get it, but still, I want a Miami Vice under the Cuban sun right now! If you could pack your bags this week for vacation where would you like to go? I feel you on the reeding week right now. Even though I'm not in school anymore, I am still far from home and unable to go on vacations for another month. The one I currently have planned is to go travel part of western Europe. My dream vacation is probably not the same than what most people might answer, I actually want to go into Norway and Sweden instead of the Southern countries. I personally really don't like heat and high temperature and I want the possibilities to go and climb the mountains and see the landscape of those beautiful places.
  6. 1. We aren't as good as we used to be, at least in the past 10 games played. 3-6-1 through our last 10 games, what do we need to do as a team to get back on the winning track? I don't think there is much to change right now. We have a large quantity of players who haven't gotten time to familiarize with each other's way of playing. I think a little bit of patience on the group will bring results. 2. With our roster now set we do not need to add any new players to the team this season. What is the best feeling about being part of a full 12-6-2 roster? Are there any negatives you find? With a full roster, we get a guaranty that everyone is used to their full potential without either being overplayed or pushed to play above the playtime they are able to sustain. It also makes every players want to push themself for better ice-time. 3. Trade Deadline is here and Houston has two new faces joining us to complete our roster. @CowboyinAmerica was traded from Halifax and @KRZY signed from waivers, these two are fresh meat in the locker room. What is something these players should know about Houston and our team? Are there any cool spots in Houston you want them to know about? First of all, extremely happy to see new players joining the team and be enthusiastic about helping us push the team closer to the top positions of the standings. As to what are the cool spots of Houston, well... I haven't been here a long time myself either but I do love to go check the multiple museum open around. I do also recommend to go check some of the smokehouse barbecue restaurants, they are a killer. 4. Playoffs are always in the back of my mind. Since drafting, trading, and signing each player this season, my goal is always to get to the playoffs. Looks like we got a good shot this season to make it! What is the one team you DO NOT want to go up against in the 1st round? VHLM playoffs take the top 8/10 teams in the league. Honestly, I have a large fear of the Philly Reapers. Not only are they first overall right now by a far margin, but they also have some big scorers which leads them to having the best GDiff by almost +40 and I really don't think our chances against them in the playoffs would be the best. Right now in the season, we have a record of 2-3-1 against them with a -4 GDiff. 5. I have always loved Taco Tuesdays, Wine Wednesdays, Freaky Fridays, etc... Which day of the week is your go to "event day"? Is there a day of the week where you have a routine meal or event? My personal recurrent activity is to go with a close friend on every Saturday around 10:30am to a bagel shop that does really good bagels with plenty of different type of fillings in them. 6. It's GM day! I literally just made that up. For GM day you are required to give me something. This "something" can be anything! A unicycle? Sure! Some baby turtles and a tank for them to live in? Thank you very much! What is one thing you would like to give to me, your GM, if you could give me anything? I have been a big collector of hockey cards for a few years after I picked up my dad's collection that he started in the late 70's or early 80's. With the fact that we are in a Hockey Club, I would probably give you a set of the collection.

  8. 1. We have officially crossed the halfway point of this season, S92. Through a half season of play, what are you overall thoughts on our team? Happy to see we currently have a pretty deep lineup. I don't think the current standings is really showing the big picture counting that the team had a difficult beginning to the season. However, everything seems to be heading in the right direction. 2. It's Theme Week! This season's theme for Theme Week is "All-Star". What are you planning on doing for Theme Week? Have you already submitted a Media/Graphic/Podcast? I'm currently looking into making a post about the first ever MVP of the league. 3. Weekly tasks sometimes turn into a bore. VHL.com's might not be as interesting as they use to be, or you may get trivia wrong and lose all motivation... If you could choose a new way to earn TPE, what would your task of choice be? Player cards prob 4. Halfway through the season is usually when players finally feel their groove. Daily games create great routines! What is your routine in order to be ready for each and every single game? Usually, I try to get a morning run in to warm-up the legs a little. I follow that up with a chicken sandwich for lunch with a protein shake on the side as my regular pre-game meal. 5. If you had to choose between only winning team awards, or only winning individual awards, which would you choose and why? I'm always thriving towards the team awards and if you get the team to perform by being a crucial part of it usually the individual awards comes with it. 6. Almost February! One month of 2024 gone already, has anything cool/interesting happened to you in this first month? Not too much, I am currently on a business trip in the central/eastern portion of Europe, but otherwise nothing of note has happened yet. Hoping for a quieter year than the last few for me though.
  9. 1. Houston after 1 week: 4-4-2, 4th in the Western Conference. Does our current record reflect the rest of the season? 1. Having only just joined the team, but two games ago, I don't want to say anything that would be out of my range of knowledge. I do have comments on it though and I would have to say that I think it won't represent the rest of the season. At least, I would hope that this is only a false start and everyone including me, especially, will get ourselves situated into our roles in the lineup and turn the tide around like our last 2 games. 2. How has your player performed through these first 10 games? 2. As I said, I just joined the team as a waiver and has only played two games, but so far, I'm happy with how I am performing with 1G-2Pts with a +3 as a recruit. I can only hope my next 7 goes well and I can then reflect on my actual 10 first games. As of now though, I'm more than happy. 3. Team Bonding Opportunity!: Ondrej Vencko @Mutti is our well known drug addict. We need to hop the border from Texas to Mexico, what vehicle are we cruising in to partake in illegal activities? 3. I'd say we should be taking the team bus but also add a second vehicle with a few of the players in it to go through the checkpoint before the bus and they make sure to look and act as suspectful as possible without having anything actually incriminating against them. All that would force the border guards to inspect them and waste time and by seeing a bus of hockey players crossing right behind could decide to do a quick superficial inspection without going in depth allowing everything to across undetected. 4. @Nathan_8 was announced this week as Houston's newest AGM. Do you have any words of advice for Nathan? Anything you would like to say? 4. I can't really give him any good advice as I'm still a recruit in this whole entire league, but the one thing I could probably say is to make sure to not over-burden himself with his new task and take it one step a time. Also, I'm going to add a quick personal comment, I hope I'll be able to make the management of this team happy to have selected me. 5. Our captain Trimiskez Artav @jake and our assistant captain Chris Reynolds Jr @Crstats23 lead the team with 7 goals each. In a 72 game season, how many goals will the two end up with? My guess is around 45-50 goals for each of them. How many goals will your player end with? 5. Of course, I can only hope our team leadership gets a league record in goals this season, but more realistically I think any player is going to have a slower pace at one point in the season and they should aim for the area between 40 to 45 goals. For myself though, I have much more conservative hopes and if I could reach 25 on the season I'd be more than happy. 6. I am deciding to drop everything I have and run! The mafia has caught up to me and Houston needs a new GM now. You have been chosen to fill my spot! As GM of the Houston Bulls what is the first thing you do? 6. First thing I would personally do if I ended up as the new GM that way, would probably have a light panic attack about my situation before going into an over fixation on finding out what is every task an actual GM has to do. I don't think I'd be able to take on the position anytime soon even if it was a life or death situation.
