  1. Well that was a blind squirrel hoping to find a nut.
  2. +10 TPE for Tariff Puck
  3. 1. Fall, I am not a fan of super warm weather, I am ok in cold weather but I hate shoveling, spring usually gives me some allergy headaches...soooo fall by default! 2. The store seems an interesting idea, but there seems to be a bit of pay money to get benefits going on which I consider a bit of a turn off, I understand there has to be funds to run the forum and pay for the game license but advancing the character beyond the scope of F2P seems a bit wild. 3. I have no idea what theme weeks are, like best playoff moments of all time? All sports... Hawaiian shirts? 0 clue. --- 1. You have to choose a flavour of potato chip to eat for the rest of your life what do you choose? 2. What is your go to Potluck dish that you bring? 3. Do you think you have lived up to your Minors Draft spot you were taken in and or your Majors Draft spot you were taking in?
  4. Game 47: Halifax 21st vs. Houston Bulls In game 4 we seen Houston bounce back after being shut out for the first time in the post season and now its a 3 game series. Houston's offense has been relatively stifled to this point only getting 2 goals in 3 games, fortunately the goaltending for them as well has been good enough to allow 2 goals to be enough in 2 games. The real question is can Halifax continue to suppress this Bulls offense which ran rampant on the league in the regular season? Can Halifax Goalie keep them in the game? Game 5 recap starts now.... We start off with a relatively tame first period, Wolfgang Muhlenkamp picks up a penalty for High sticking that turns into a nothingburger. Halifax gets a chance when Kyle Kyleson picks up a roughing minor, which Darko Alexander Malkovich Sr offsets 50 seconds later, the shots end up 5 to 6 in favor of the Bulls as both teams are feeling each other out. Second period doesn't seem much action until Shot Blocker for Halifax picks up a tripping call at 5:07, Houston jumps on the chance and nets another Power Play Goal, this time Jack Jack gets his first of the post season as a Robin Sierra(5) shot is blocked and leaks out for the point man to get the goal, Dog Jagr(8) gets the secondary assist. Falling behind sees Halifax begin to open up a bit in an attempt to draw even, but Cardinal Copia(5) adds to the lead with a crisp pass from Jack Jack (11) allows him to fire home a snap shot and the home crowd are loving what the are seeing in Houston. With less than 5 left in the 2nd Feka Ohi Kau(12a) pinches a puck on the boards and gets hit by Darko Alexander, but he managed to chip the puck forward to Gingy who skates it up and finds some space to fire in his 5th of the playoffs and put Houston up a comfortable 3-0. The 3rd goal causes Chad Powers to get the hook, and the fans are letting him hear it in Houston. Shots for the period 8-7 Halifax, but 3 goals on 7 shots has Halifax looking a little defeated. The frustration begins to boil over early in the 3rd as Shot blocker takes a hooking penalty as Halifax zone break in isn't working and they are not generating any shots, its all Houston this period, Zara Wof and Floridaman get tagged for penalties as well, Houston adds a 4th from Hunter S(6g) from Dog Jagr(9a) and Gingy(9a). Houston puts 14 more shots on back up Kim Chi as Bartholomew Lorequavius gets himself a shutout and Houston win 4-0. We are making the trek from Houston to Halifax and the Cup will be in the building. Houston up 3-2 going into game 6! 3 Stars 1 - Gingy (HOU) 1G 1A +3 4S 1Hit 14/26 FO 2 - Jack Jack (HOU) 1G 1A +1 2S 3H 2SB 3 - Dog Jagr (HOU) 2A +2 1S 2H 1SB
  5. Game 46: Houston Bulls vs. Halifax 21st Game 4 of this series comes off some amazing goaltending by both sides as Halifax edged out a 1-0 Shutout on the back of 29 saves by Powers, Houston faced 35 shots and let a lone goal through, as it was the first time they were held scoreless this post season and they have promised to respond in pre-game and post-game comments so lets check out the action as the Game 4 of the Founder Cup gets underway! Igor Sokolov(4) gets the scoring underway at 11:28 of the first, with assists from Wolfgang Muhlenkamp(4) and Wade Landry(3) Halifax strikes first at home and the home crowd is in a frenzy. Some sloppy stick work from Family Mart nets him a double minor for a high sticking and Houston gets to work on the power play, Dog Jagr(7a) fires a shot that carroms around the boards back to Hunter S(7a) who snaps it toward the net and Robin Sierra gets his 2nd of the playoffs and ties the game @ 16:01. The second period is pretty uneventful until near the 15m mark when Wolfgang Muhlenkamp gets called for a hold putting the Houston Bulls dangerous power play unit back on the attack. Alex Bridges(6a) feeds Cardinal Copia(5a) who takes a few wacks from a bad angle on to the side of the net and ships the puck out front it lands on Feka Ohi Kau stick for a one timer, and he buries it from the point. Silencing the crowd as Houston takes their first lead since game 1 of the Series. Neither team can generate much offense in the 3rd and the horn blows and the series is now tied going back to Houston for Game 5. 3 Stars 1 - Feka Ohi Kau (HOU) - Game winner 2 - Igor Sokolov (HFX) - 1G +1 4 Shots 1 hit 3 - Wade Landry (HFX) 1assist +1.
  6. 1. The biggest surprise for myself the Legion getting bounced R1. 2. Jean-Pierre Devote from Calgary, 399 TPE and +8 so far in the playoffs, he has a single point which just leads me to believe a super case of the right place right time to snag the plus. 3. The word is Heroine. 1) No team has a shutout in R3 of the playoffs(currently after g4), do you expect any team to get a shutout from here out? 2) Do you think any NHL team who gets down 3-1 can complete the comeback? 3) Do you wish your players career could be extended out further?
  7. Game 21: Philadelphia Reapers vs. Las Vegas Aces Game 6, we are back in Vegas as the Aces held in Philly and now this best contested series of round 1 is really heating up. Its 3-2 but the Reapers have that lead off an OT Win, so this series could be 3-2 either way if you really think about a few bounces. Let's see if the referees are going to put a stamp on this game early to try and cut out the loose stick work or are they gonna let the kids play. This gets off to a blistering start as Vegas gets into the Philly end and begins throwing pucks at Louis Burley who is getting his first start of the post season here in game 6, and he appears ready as he is tested early. Players are really laying out on both sides of the ice, several shot blocks already Reapers are now peppering Brian S who was great in the last game, he coughs up a rebound on an ALTO RED shot and he bangs away at it as Gunnarson slides into the crease to help but ALTO Red lifts it up and over and the Reapers draw first Blood and are up 1-0. Right off the face off Tommy Longpre nearly gets beat and gets called for a Tripping penalty, Reapers dump the puck in and caught on the change as Brian S comes out to play the puck and flips it down to Jagger Bomb Jr who finds Raoul Cyr leaking out and Burley didn't have much of a chance there getting kind of left on an island against one of the leagues best and he finds the equalizer. The game begins to settle down until an offensive faceoff win for the Reapers leads to Adam joy passing to Jackson Jeannot who fires a one timer misses the net but ALTO RED is there to bang one in on the door step and lift the reapers back up 2:1. Then late in the period a coaches nightmare as the reapers add a 3rd of the period and Danny Ross fires a shot from the point, Rocco Serrano deflects it Dan bacle gets a helper and the Vegas crowd is stunned. Period 2 is well underwear and its been relatively clean when Adam Joy gets called for a Hold, putting the Aces on the power play. Mathias Gunnerson tries a few odd angle shots before giving it up to Jagger Bomb Jr for his 1st of the playoffs and the deficit gets cut to 1. Into the 3rd, Tommy Longpre gets caught with Lumber in the skates again, Finn Mercer gets the puck in the slot rips one off the pads and collects his own rebound to Tie it up and if we werent in the desert you'd swear it was an earthquake cause the building was vibrating at this point. We are going to OT in Vegas! Matthias Gunnarson forces the refs to take the whistle out, called for a hook and even though this goal doesnt go down as a power play goal, as he was getting out of the box as it happened, that is the result. We Get a pass from Jeannot into a little back and forth from Tzesar and Kovar and the second pass back ends up in the net as he smashes the one timer home and the Reapers move with their second OT win of the series. 3 Stars 1 - ALTO RED (PHI) 2G 5 Shots +2 2 - Jackson Jeannot (PHI) 3 Assists 3 Shots 3 Hits +2 3 - Rocco Serrano (PHI) 1G on 2 Shots +2
  8. It's a nightmare scenario for the Las Vegas Aces as they find themselves on deaths door against the Philidelphia Reapers, down 3-1 and in Philly is not a great place to be, 60 minutes to decide a winner lets get to it. The first period had a little bit of everything several dumb penalties a fight and a game misconduct, Philly outshot Vegas 12-9 but at 17:34 after Rolf MacWallace took a Hooking penalty Raoul Cyr gets his 2nd of the post season, with assists from Boing Boing and Mathias Gunnarson give them the lead into the first intermission. Cooler heads begin to prevail in the second period as the penalties slow down but the first penalty of the period results in the Reaper knotting the game up at 1. Bazooka Joe nets his second, helpers from Jakub Kovar and Dan Bacle. Vegas strikes back 3 minutes later LVA D8 gets apass from Boinb Boing and Ethan Ashcroft, to put them back up on top. Philly outshoots LV 14:12 this period. Vegas gets some insurance from The MIlkman, as he nets his Second of the playoffs from Kyzer Soze. That was all Vegas needed as they hold on for a 3:1 Win 3 Stars 1 - Brian S (LVA) -- 34/35 saves 2 - Boing Boing (LVA) 2 Assist 3 - B-LVA D8 (LVA) Game winner.
  9. 1. Houston is a Juggernaut, we didn't stand much of a chance, their second line was better than our first line. If I find myself back in Ottawa post draft I hope we can attempt to get some vengeance for this season, as they swept us the entire way this year. 2. I hope they lose, in 7 in over time with a weird bounce of the glass. 3. I was pretty satisfied that I was reasonably contributing so quickly. Hopefully next season I can get positive on the +/-. 4. Nope, just going to keep skating hard, and working on the conditioning. 5. I'm not really particular about a team, I'd like to get on a team with a few guys from the PBE just so we have some more shared interest and can bond from that. 6. I like a good lukewarm bottle of water.
  10. 1. This time of year its the squidward looking out the window at canadian hockey teams who made it meme, in this case the flames/nucks are squidward. 2. I'll take never tasting sweet, I love chips more than chocolate so I can live with that. 3. I'm pretty ok with trying new foods as long are they are not moving, so I think I'd be ok for most things, I had squid legs before, so so so chewie. Questions: 1. NHL - What first round matchup has you the most excited? 2. You get to choose the Utah Hockey Clubs name, what do you choose? 3. You get to move and rename a VHL team, who and why?!
  11. Game 353: Ottawa Lynx vs. Houston Bulls Game 72 for these teams as the season is coming to an end we have two teams on opposites ends of the spectrums, the Ottawa Lynx are 4th in the Eastern conference with nobody within 30 points of them give or take, and the Bulls also find themselves with nobody within 30 points of them but thats because they have Dominated the West and the East all season are sporting a 58-8-5 record this season. The Ottawa Lynx have been nothing short of a door mat this season the bulls have won all 5 meetings none of them were particularly close. Lets get this one started so we can get to the playoffs! Started is one way to put this 22 seconds into the game Gingy finds his 33rd of the season, assists to Dog Jagr(54) and Feka Ohi Kau(45). Ottawa strikes back @ 4:11 Elisa Mcmuffin lets a series of shots go missing the net on a couple which bounce back to her, Dog Jagr blocks the 3rd attempt and the pucks squirts out to Kyle Evans who nets his 38th of the season, giving Mcmuffin her 51st and Owen Two his 52nd. At this point the shots are looking bleak for Ottawa as they have fired more wide of the net then on the net, but the same cannot be said for Houston as Cardinal Copia collects their own blocked shot off McMuffin @ 15:52 and lands their 32nd of the season, Additional Pylons(31) and Jack Jack (48) tally up the assists. Little over a minute later, Alex Bridges IV gives Houston a 3 - 1 cushion and the fans are loving the offensive barrage being put on by the Bulls, Dog Jagrs gets their 55th assist and Jack Jack is now up to 49! The period ends and houston is up 17-2 on the shots. Second period Ottawa starts to show some quality and the chances are looking better none better than @ 9:43 when Tariff Puck passes over to Fortnite Money gang who misses the net but WWWumbo is on the back door for a cheeky tap in and Ottawa is back within one its now 3 - 2 . The remainder of the period is a bit back and forth Houston still getting the share of the chances with 11 shots to 8, but Ottawa holding tight going into the 3rd versus a team they have yet to get any points off of this season. Ottawas offense all but vanishes again once the sides flip back, mustering only 3 shots in the period, Houston Robin Sierra nets his 19th of the season with assists from Alex Bridges and Additional Pylons. Komi Kamal is doing everything they can to keep Ottawa in the game but the team is not able to muster anything resembling an offense in this one, its a miracle its only a 2 goal deficit and this one ends 4 - 2 Houston Bulls, as they sweep Ottawa 6-0 on the season. 3 Stars 1 - Alex Bridges IV (HOU) 1G-1A 8S 2 - Jack Jack (HOU) 2A +2 2H 1SB 3 - Dog Jagr (HOU) 2A 3H 1SB See everybody in the playoffs!
  12. Game 351: Halifax 21st vs. Ottawa Lynx Welcome back Ottawa Hockey fans, fresh off being sick for two days, we are happy to be back in the Nations Capital as Ottawa hosts Halifax. These guys just played in the last game where Halifax managed to take a 4-2 victory while being outshot 27-25 by Ottawa, we'll keep our eye out for Star of the previous game Steven Nichols hes averaging near a point per game in his VHLM 4th season as he had 2 Goals in that aforementioned victory. Game 351 of the regular season kicks off in Ottawa with the home team getting on the board, Fortnite Moneygang collects his 11th of the season from William Tree(18) and Ivan Grovnikov(23) @ 7:29. As the 11:01 minute rolls over Florida Man II gets his 8th assist of the season as he gets it infront to Hater Tottingham as he bangs in his 33rd of the campaign. Owen Two gets called for a high stick on a hit to Florida Man, and the power play for Halifax gets to work, Cysteine buries their 19th of the season an Family Mart(16) and Steven Nichos(40) @ 14:01. Ottawa has no quit in sight thou, 20 seconds after the puck drops their 3rd line wastes little time breaking into the zone and tying the game up. Devin Gabella nets their 2nd of the seasn and Elisa McMuffin adds her 50th apple of the season, nic gets their first assist of the year at 14:21, the period continues without much theatrics until the last few moments when WWWWumbo and Tariff Puck both lay it out and block 3 shots in the final 7 seconds of the period to keep the game tied at 2. Steve Nichols desided he was going to show up in the second period and gets a primary assist on Family Mart 7th goal of the season at 5:42. Halifax is really pouring it on in the period they end up with 17 shots to 3 and amongst the barrage hometown hero Tariff Puck gets caught high sticking which leads to another Halifax goal is Cysteine grabs their second of the game and Steven Nichols adds to his assist talley with his 42nd of they year, Michael Lee Jr gets his 21st as the penalties are Ottawa's undoing again. Third period marches forward and Ottawa spends a good chunk of the middle of the period on the power play with nothing to show for it barely a shot, and frustration begins to rear its ugly head near the end of the game as Ivan Grovnikov gets a Roughing minor and Igor Sokolov cashes in another power play goal giving him his 10th of the season , Hater Tottingham gets his 45th assist and Petr Novak his 55th. The shots end up 32-12 Halifax, Halifax goes 3/6 on the power play and Ottawa goes 0/6. Cysteine gets the first star for a Two goal performance, Hater tottingham gets the second star with 1G-1A and 4 hits. Family Mart gets the third star 1G-1A. The win puts Halifax on 99 points and the precipice of 100 points season as they take on Mississauga at home in the next game. Ottawa gets to fly down to Houston and see if they can crack an 0-5 record vs the VHLM leading Houston Bulls.
  13. Loud boisterous beginnings and a short walk to the rink is how Tariff stated his hockey career, in a small town in Ontario, a mere half a kilometer to the rink you could see him lugging his equipment to the outside rink every night of the week. Captivated by his Uncle Johns tails of legendary players and the Canada Russia series. Stories of how the defense is getting weaker and how the defense is getting softer, helped mold the thought process of how Tariff would become the player he became. It didn't start out easy for him, he was a bit gangly and awkward for his age, the doctors always said oh should grow into his body, but most people who liken him to a baby giraffe for the first 9 years of his life. He could barely skate but that never deterred his effort, he was almost always a clean half foot taller then everybody else on the ice, that included when he fell down, which was for a while any time he would turn sharply or have to change direction in a hurry. 12 years ago it certainly didn't look like there was going to be a be a player who would one day have scouts praising him and teams lining up to watch him. It all started kind of haphazardly in the summer he was turning 10, a friend begged him to come out and play doubles with him as a youth at a badminton club. When he got to the club there was no other youth just some adults who were more than willing to play a few young fellas who weren't half bad, but weren't half great either. They played 4 different teams of people; they lost, pretty badly. But they realized something on the way home a revelation of sorts as they talked about playing side to side and how they crashed their rackets into each other a few times going for the shuttle cock at the same time. What if we just play front and back. Who should play front? Who should play back? Tariff didn't know, his friend Kris didn't know. Luckily it was summer time school just got out and there was Wimbledon Tennis on. Not exactly the same idea, but pretty close. They found doubles on and noticed how the players shifted angles, but one team in particular caught there eye, a team with a very Tall guy, and an average height person. How they moved in unison, the shorter player in most points attempted to get closer to the net, and the Tall guy would just slide back and play somewhat defensively. This was it, this was the beginning of Tariff's transformation from a falling around the rink giraffe with bad legs to a fast paced player with a level of ice vision that began to become unrivaled at his level. The quick twitch and rotations of badminton began to help him stop and go quicker, when he played ball hockey during the summer he started being able to block shots with his stick better and see the puck clearer. He was batting every ball that was attempted to be passed near him, his hand eye skill began to increase and increase the more he played both sports. He stayed in shape all summer playing badminton versus adults 2 nights a week, they started to win the odd game versus average players at the club, continuing on for the summer some of the adults started to wonder if they could be badminton prodigies. The truth came around in the Fall, Hockey is all that matters in Canada. When Tariff laced up his skates for the first time that year he noticed he didn't feel so uneasy on his feet. He could feel the blade pushing against the ice, he was able to stop on a dime now a summer of messing around with badminton had made his legs and ankles much stronger from having to constantly move from side to side for hours on end every night they went to play. He was able to pick off pucks going up the boards a lot easier, and he was now a complete menace to try and get around, it appears his hand speed and grip strength also improved! Eventually coaches took notice as he improved his speed and mobility, a kid who is much larger then his peers moving around gracefully at 10, this lead to tryouts with the local rep teams, which lead to invites to other camps. A simple twist of fate had activated a complete world of hockey had begun to unlock. Now 12 years on and just finishing his University season, hes been asked to come play in the VHLM as the season is near the end of the year, since hes 21 hes passed the youth draft rights phase and he can just join his local Minor team the Ottawa Lynx and see what the future holds and if he will be picked up next year by any teams. Who knows what greatness can be unlocked?
  14. 1. So I am Pretty new to the league, so I dont know what you could realistically ask for, but being 8th/10 teams currently doesn't make much sense to be adding when it appears the team would require so much to be a contender vs some of the top tier teams in the league. I 2. Hello, new addition. I'm pretty happy I'll be getting a decent amount of playing time over the next few weeks so I can kind of see what what works and the evolution of my character. I was kind of shocked to see that I went right into the team the way I did, coming from PBE where you have to be somewhat drafted first to a Minors team it was a system shock to see my player in the box scores! 3. I don't know about them joining the Lynx per se, I am sure they have their own preferences. I absolutely would love to get onto a team with @FlyingWVand @pboomg two people I know from the PBE, FlyingWV is my teams lead updater and I was scouting him heavily to join my PBE team and Pboomg was in my draft class and was one of the steals of that draft as he joined the league late and his lower TPE in a class that was massive drove him down the draft board quite unfairly. I think if we redrafted the class he would have been 1st or early second, and he slid to the 4th round or something heinous. 4. I think we are going to slowly but surely trudge our way into the playoffs; two shutouts tonight certainly didn't help! I'm getting the TPE now though Bossman! 5. My player is going to be hitting the weight room and continue to work on his lower body while improving his skating form, the game is going to get faster and faster as I progress through the leagues so I want to be able to not be a liability as much as possible! 6. I'll take a crisp 5, I like a more flashy skin. I do love a good audio synced animation though!
  15. Review Game 320 Ottawa Lynx vs Las Vegas Aces - Ottawa coming off a disappointing result in Houston last game finds themself in "Sin City" tonight taking on the Las Vegas Aces, both teams sporting similar record and finding themselves in 4th in their respective conferences. Both teams on a 3 game skid currently with the Saskatoon Wild getting the better of the Aces in OT last game. The action picks up early in the first as Komi Kamal lets in the first shot of the game Boing Boing nets his 17th of the season with Ashcroft getting his 17th assist and BEER x5x2 getting his second assist and the Vegas crowd is electrified but unfortunately that energy will soon be zapped as a sloppy game of dump and chase hockey plagued with turn overs begins to unfold in front of them. Nearly 3 minutes go by before an attempted shot goes off which is blocked by the defense. Vegas player Finn Mercer getting booed by his own fans in the first as he ices the puck 3 times in a two minute burst. Despite this Ottawa is unable to get any offense going at all the Lynx end the first with 2 shots and Aces with 4, but the Aces are on the board and the Lynx are still Drawing it up. Nothing really happening in the second period until Raoul Cyr and Owen Two drop the gloves and Cyr is out of his element here, he gets absolutely dropped in a one sided affair and his coach is just shaking his head at the scene, wondering why he would choose to drop the gloves in such a scenario. Cyr will get the last laugh as Owen Two gets called for a hold minute 11 in the second, and that allows Boing Boing 17th assist of the season to setup Cyr for his 22nd goal of the year on the power play and Ottawa finds themselves down 2 with the offense unable to generate shots. Third period doesn't add much in the way of drama, Ottawa finds their legs late and sprinkles 8 shots but nothing can get by Brian S as he records a 15 save shutout and collects a first star of the game, Boing Boing getting the second star with a solid 2 point night and 3rd star honours to Ethan Ashcroft. The Lynx have now lost 4 in a row and been shut out back to back games 2-0 after losing the two previous 4-1. Ottawa is off to Mexico, and the Aces have the Reapers at home next!
