The background texture helps the blacks and reds pop really nicely, making them a standout feature of this edit. Having the 'Chicago Phoenix' text on the L's slant also adds a layer of interest to the edit and makes the whole piece really fun to look at! The faded L's also help the piece with depth and the negative space. I think the use of negative and positive space is really clever in this edit! The only extraordinarily minor critique I have is that the splatter effect on the left slightly obscures the number, but even then this is still an incredibly well crafted edit.
