S77 Miami Marauders Regular Season Awards!

Another season has come and gone for the Miami Marauders. As a group I pegged us to finish the season near the top of the standings and that’s where we finished. Through a good locker room mentality and development of our top players; Miami came out of the gates very slow and walked the line of the team being blown up!! But things changed at the quarter mark and Miami never looked back! They became a strong consistent force all season long. They finished 2nd place in their conference, 3rd overall in the VHLM. With a competitive playoffs ahead I expect nothing but success for our team and players!

Most Valuable Marauder “MVM”

*As voted by the players*

- Alexander The Great @Shiny

This years most valuable marauder goes to non other then Alexander The Great! He led our team on and off the ice in many ways! Great would finish the regular season leading the team in points with 98, and while also co-controlling the teams social media account. The Great was  super popular in the locker room which showed night in and night out. Congrats on your award Alex.

The Dakota Lamb Award

-Noah Mashford @Mashy

Each season an award is given to the player who scores the most goals during the regular season. The award was named after previous Miami Marauder Dakota Lamb as he holds the record for most goals in a season with the Miami Marauders at 44. This years recipient of this award is forward Noah Mashford; Noah’s 47 !! Goals not only led the team in scoring but is a new Miami Marauders Record for goals in a season! Maybe a new name for the award is coming next season 👀. Congrats on your award Noah.

The Perry Leadership Award

-Alexander The Great @Shiny

This trophy is named after former Marauder and trophy winner of the previously named Lebastard Memorial Trophy Nathan Perry; because of the success and leadership shown during his time in the VHL and with the Marauders in the VHLM. He proved in season 75 to be amongst the best leaders on Miami and has now taken it a step further and become and AGM on the same team he once played for. Now that we have a little history on the change in the awards name lets get on to the player who deserves to be crowned this years Perry Leadership Award Winner. Alexander The Great was voted as the “MVM” of the Marauders this season for a reason! He was named captain of Miami at the beginning of the season and his leadership did not stop with a letter on his chest! His helpful attitude was infectious in the locker room and he also led all players in production throughout the season! A true leader through and through! Congrats on your award Alex.

    The Kosmo Kramerev Award

-Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

The Kramerev is awarded to the teams top defensemen during the regular season. This years winner of this award was convincingly Jan Hlozek; he finished the season with 20 goals and 63 points in 72 games while also being a plus 22 with only 56 penalties in minutes all year! This was a dominate player on both ends of the ice for Miami and is very much deserving of this award! Congrats Jan.

The BigAL Award

-Noah Mashford @Mashy

The BigAL Award is awarded to the player who shows the most promise for long term success in the VHL. There is always numerous members of the team who are deserving of this award but I am only going to be awarding it to one person and that person for S77 is Noah Mashford.  Noah not only improved significantly on the ice this season but his constant presence in the locker room was a huge reason he is receiving this award! Activity in the locker room is basically half the battle and it goes a long way with many management teams in the VHL! Noah has all the makings of being a star in the VHL! Congrats on your Award.

The Patty T Award

-Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny

Each season we like to recognize some of the hard work players are putting in each week to earn experience for their players. This award is given to the player that had the best Graphic this past season! Named after last years winner Nils Tallinder. Trevor consistently put out Graphic despite how difficult they are! Congrats on the award Trevor.

Media Spot of the year

 -  Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

Now it is time to show some recognition to those who decide to write articles rather than create graphics. I love to show off the work of members who aren't necessarily masters at their craft but rather those who take a chance on it and are open enough to write even when they aren't necessarily writers or so they think. This years winner is Jan Hlozek! He put out multiple media spots this season worthy of this award! My personal favourite being “What If Hlozek Joined Two Weeks Prior?” It was a enjoyable read and very well put together! Congrats on the award Jan.

Cool article! Great that Miami and teams, in general, have awards that are used to show some love to their players! Each award is presented clearly and with all the information you need to know. The only slightly negative side is the presentation, the spacing looks ''weird'' on some parts, could be tighter or cleaner, but the article is still easy to read. A picture or two could spice things up a little bit, other than that I don't have anything negative to say.
