osens 297
Omi Aberg is one of the Ottawa Lynx leaders in the center position. He is a gritty, hard-working center, who likes to create some trouble for the opponent's defense. Aberg will be eligible to pick in the next draft, so scouts have been looking at this youngster/oldster, because he is 50 years old, for a good while. There are a lot of good things about Omi Aberg, but there are also some not so good.HOT - Defense Aberg is a so-called two-way forwards. He will leave everything out in offense, but will always skate as fast as possible back to defense, so there wouldn't be any stupid goals to be let in. He doesn't give up in defense, he will stand in front of any shots the opposing team will make, it doesn't matter if it's a weak wrist shot or hard one-timer. He will be there and he won't let the other team score. He is very quick on defense and he has excellent hockey IQ - he sees all passing lines and he can intercept them and lead his team to fastbreak.NOT - Puck Handling Aberg is awesome in offense, well in some way. He can move to the front of the net and he is talented there. He can tip some pucks, or make passes from the front or just take away the goalie's vision, but Aberg is not at that point, where he can lead his offensive rushes. His puck handling is shockingly bad and he should focus on that in the next off-season. Well, the good news is for the next Aberg team or other scouts, that this skill he will probably learn to get better at. He should get some expert puck handlers, like Dakota Lamb, who are known to lead their offensive rushes and they are a pain in the ass to defense because no one can take the puck off them. Aberg can bring other things to the table, but sadly not puck handling at this time of the year. HOT - Creativity One thing that Aberg really has - creativity in defense and offense. If you give him the puck, he will act fast. The good thing about him is, that he has got everything in his book to help him do everything. He has great shots, that can beat any goalie in the league, but also accurate and quick pass, which can lead to some dangerous shots and even goals. From watching Aberg play, you can tell he spends so much less time with the puck than other centers in the league. It is sometimes bad, and sometimes good. It shows that he is a quick thinker and he will find a way quickly to make any situation work. Even in defense, he can put a quick pass to other wingers, which can lead to some dangerous rushes. Aberg is a really dangerous player even without a puck, he fills the line perfectly and he is always there, where he needs to be. Omi Aberg will be picked pretty highly in this draft and he will be trying to show everyone his A-game every night in the upcoming VHLM games, to show the VHL GM's to pick him instead of other players. Good look at the good and bad of his abilities on the ice currently. I wish you the best of luck i nthe upcoming drafts. Good read. 505words, picture and colors for the headers, helps bring the eyes where they need to be. Overall 9/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/104909-whats-hot-whats-not-omi-aberg-edition/#findComment-856878 Share on other sites
Kisslinger 376
9/10, love the colored headlines and the picture, super quick and easy read, straight to the point and entertaining. It was cool to learn about Omi Aberg and I like that you included a negative about him as well as his strengths. I do not think you need to improve on anything, I would just like to know more weaknesses next time. Again, great job.
