Patrik Tallinder 1,087
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CALGARY WRANGLER Every VHL team in today’s world is truly fantastic. With a batch of dedicated and approachable general managers, as well as a prospering league full of joyous and excitable players, there are no longer any “unlucky destinations” for your player. Every team has their own culture, and soon the VHLE will create an entire new generation of team dynamics in this community. But today, we are not here to talk about the newest teams in this league, we’re here to discuss one of the oldest — the Calgary Wranglers. I have been a part of this team since S75, and it has been such a privilege. Here’s why: Engaged, Hard-Working Management It all starts at the top. @Jubis completely shifted the damaged reputation of the team back on the right track, and then passed on the torch to @Ricer13, who has made many adjustments to improve user engagement. Both have played instrumental roles in what it now means to be a Wrangler, and not only does the team have to thank them for that; The league also has these two to thank for turning this ship around. Jubis was an electric GM with a passion to see the team succeed, and he made numerous bold moves that put Calgary in a contending position just about every season. And we can’t forget his seasonal stats prediction articles. Ricer made upgrades to the locker room that have turned it into somewhat of a VHL utopia, and his team awards at the end of the season are always a fun read as well. Of course we can’t forget the AGMs here either. When I first arrived, @LatinViking was the AGM, and he was doing a great job as a presence in the locker room and as a strategist alongside Jubis. He unfortunately had to quit the VHL for personal reasons, and if he happens to ever see this, I hope he’s doing well. The honours were then passed on to me, and I’d like to think I did a pretty good job as AGM. I am currently working with our new hire, @Greg_Di, to help him thrive in his new role. I can already see his eagerness to help and how he is willing to take on any task that is needed from him. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope that my words of (somewhat) wisdom can help you when you fully take over. A Room Full Of Amazing People The Wranglers are a family. Whether we’re finding conversation through a skillful graphic or the NHL games that were on that night, our bond as a collective is always growing. Everyone is very accepting to newcomers, and anyone is welcome to come for a chat in the server's general area. With the people that comprise this team, I could not be prouder to call myself a Wrangler. Consistent Content About The Team Like I previously mentioned, Ricer has a seasonal team awards show, which everyone thoroughly enjoys. On top of that, @Jtv123 has continued Jubis’ stats prediction series. A few of us do player graphics here and there, and they’re frequently Calgary players. Also, Greg_Di regularly releases content about his perspective on the team and his career. There is much more that I could shout out, but I think I’ve made my point quite clear. Safe to say, you can almost always find something about the team or even your player. To Conclude... Being a Wrangler is great. That’s about it from me, thanks for reading.
