wallflower 1 Posted October 13, 2013 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Who Killed the Old Site? Just a week or two ago, the VHL's old website was killed by an anonymous hacker. The league is currently scrambling for answers as to who committed this fatal crime, but answers have not been arising like they had wished. This leaves us on a new forum now. It seems pretty crazy that a new one was needed since the last one was paid for and appeared very stable, at least to me. I find it very interesting that it just randomly crashed with very few hints ahead of time. Here are some people that I think could have caused this whole debacle: Bill: If I'm not mistaken, Bill has graced the VHL and been banned. There is definitely some reason for retaliation right there. The pure act of banning somebody typically enrages them and they want to get back at the league. I had also heard that he either hacked ModCP at SHL or VHL, so he could definitely know how to apply a Distributed Denial of Service, or DDoS. From everything that I have heard about this Bill character, I can definitely envision him attacking the site. The Chinese Computer Hackers: The Chinese hate us. When I say us, I am referring to Western Civilization as whole. These Chinese hackers could be very mad at something we did. Hell, I've seen legacies carried on in player creating with there being at least 3 players with the same last name. China may think that we are breaking the one child per household rule! In all seriousness, this one is not very likely and let's be completely honest, the Chinese have nothing against an online simulation league, especially a hockey one. The Chinese hate hockey for crying out loud! BagelBites: BagelBites, also known as Ben, has always been a trouble maker. Ben is a very bad person and you can tell because he once stole a cookie from Old McDonald. That my friends is the definition of an unforgivable crime. BagelBites even said on SHL that it was probably his fault since he had just gotten drafted. There is definitely some doubting of Ben's innocence to be done. At his age, there is no telling what he could've done. Let's not even for get that his age makes him a very viable source of bad things. MTA: Have you wondered where he was? He lurks around you. At night, MTA plays Haxball and spies on our very forum. The only reason that I rank MTA in this is because he plays Haxball. Now you're thinking, "Why does Haxball matter?" Haxball causes many problems mentally friends. One problem is addiction to the computer and to Haxball. The only other problem is learning how to DDoS. I've been very impressed with how many people on Haxball know how to DDoS and I am impressed with how many times I have been given a DDoS attack. Needless to say, MTA is definitely somebody to kee an eye on. Some Random Scrub: This is probably he most likely out of all of the options so far. The man (or woman) who tried to cause the downfall of the league is probably just some old person sitting behind a computer screen figuring out how to mess things up, just like they did with their own lives. Or it was the Chinese... or it was the guy that never joined the site in the first place. That's how awful Bill was.
