Forwards

Malmo and Warsaw will battle it out in round 1 to see who will move onto the conference finals. The forwards on both teams are probably both teams best strong suits, but Warsaw has a much lower grade team overall. Warsaw finished the season with more goals then Malmo, and have a really depthy forward group that seemingly has no holes, but also not a lot of fire power either. Player for player, Malmo should in theory win no problem. Malmo have to be ready though. Warsaw finished 3rd in the EU for a reason this year.

Defense/Goalers

Similarly to the forwards, Malmo have plenty of defensive depth pretty much from top to bottom. It starts with Kaberle, and finishes with an all star goalie in Tretiak. It would be kinda surprising if Warsaw got more then a couple past this defence on any given night. Despite this looking like a possible blowout on paper. I see Vancouver taking a game or 2 from the Nighthawks. Why? 2 hunches from me. The first being that regular season records don’t lie. The second is that Warsaw do have some Vancouver vibes on them, which essentially means we’re gonna over-perform and see how many teams we can piss off. Well Warsaw probably left many teams with question marks after their meetings.  Warsaw has Chicken wing leading the defense, and a very young goalie with a low amount of tpe. It’ll be an exciting series for both sets of fans. If I’m Warsaw, I’m probably happy getting more then a win or 2 against the nighthawks.

Next year Salaries

I wanted to take a small amount of time to look at how Malmo could be spending there money just off a few glances. More or less, Malmo could be spending slightly more then last year with the few players that would grow more then the players that are stunted due to depreciation. This would mean if Gunnar stayed, someone would probably have to go regardless. If he does retire/leave, then we’re probably still in the mix to add a high caliber player of some sort. I think these are now going to be decision made by the new gm, whoever they end up being. I know one thing is for sure for me here. I’m looking to stay as long as I possibly can. At this point, we should be able to make more great runs for the cup.

the next question may become, which position do we fill if Malmo goes for a higher caliber player, and I think it comes down to defence or the forwards. Tretiak is okay for a little more, and backups aren’t the hardest to pick up in the world. If it were me, I would go with another forward, even though I think both could be good options. I like the way our defence has held their poise over the last couple years, and I don’t see any reason to try and tweak stuff there. The forward group has been great. If we end up loosing GO, then I don’t see why I couldn’t step up myself, yes we have a good amount of depth even without GO, but if we have a few mil to spend for one more guy, then more depth can never hurt.

REVIEW

First off, I liked the formatting here. You did a great job of dividing the article into paragraphs based on what you were talking about. A negative for me is the offseason part of the spot feels like another article altogether. It might've read better if you wrote some more on the matchup and not taken a turn with the topic. Read very well, your writing has a nice flow... good job overall!

Odinsson will definitely be gone, so there's absolutely no reason why Telker can't be THE guy on the forward line. He kind of already is and will lead the team exceptionally.

Yes that’s very true, but you’ve outdone me the last 2 seasons!!
