GM 83: Moscow Menace (1) vs Warsaw Predators (5)

REVIEW: In this entertaining regular season match between two European Conference teams, the Warsaw Predators demolished the Moscow Menace by a score of 5-1. An early power play saw Warsaw take the lead after a nice passing play resulted in Chicken Wing shooting the puck into the net for their 5th goal of the season. Two quick goals by Bogdan Trunov and Brendan Marner resulted in a 3-0 1st period lead. As the period was ending, Duncan Idaho put Moscow on the board, but that was the last time Moscow would menace the Predators in this game. A 2nd period short handed goal by Tynan Sylvester put the game out of reach and a 3rd period goal by Brendan Marner (their second of the game) was the final nail in the coffin. Tater Tot was excellent between the pipes for Warsaw, stopping 37 of 38 shots, while Papa Emeritus stopped a respectable 49 of 54 shots.

GM 88: Warsaw Predators (5) vs Helsinki Titans (3)

REVIEW: Unlike their previous game against Moscow, this match between Warsaw and Helsinki started as a close affair but ended with Warsaw taking home all 2 points. The Titans' Nico Pearce was the only goal scorer in the 1st period. The second period was filled with goals, as Flynn Remy put the Titans up 2-0 only a couple of minutes into the 2nd period. Chicken Wing then cut the lead down to 1, but Helsinki's Magnus Verlander quickly gave the Titans a two goal lead again. Towards the end of the period, the Predators were given a power play - Brian Moreau made them pay and once again reduced the lead to one. Whatever the Warsaw coach said in the locker room during the second intermission must have worked, as the Predators scored 3 unanswered goals (Zach Kisslinger, Bogdan Trunov, and Zach Kisslinger again) put Warsaw on top. Tater Tot stopped 54 of 57 for the win while Xavier Booberry stopped 47 of 51.

Game 93: Chicago Phoenix vs. New York Americans

This was the second match between these two bottom dwelling conference rivals. The goal of these games is not to win, as these 2 teams want to lose for better lotto picks. Chicago took home the first important match, with a convincing 5-1 loss. In this one they would once again reign supreme. Chicago's chances of a loss were jeopardized after Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen scored in the first and Eeli Rantanen scored at 2:20 in the second. Halfway through the second the Americans responded and would go on to score 4 unanswered goals in that period. Neither team would score in the third and the game ended 4-2.

Game 90: D.C. Dragons vs. Vancouver Wolves

The Vancouver Wolves got off to a bit of a scare in the first. R, (that is not a typo) scored a 8:13 in the first period to lead it off for the Dragons. The Wolves responded in quick succession with goals from Tyler Reinhart, Omi Aberg and Henry Tucker before the end of the first period. Henry Tucker would add another tally in the second period to make the game 4-1. Halfway through the third period R would once again score, but it would not be enough and that's how the game ended, 4-2. The Dragons goalie Barry Taffe performed to the best of his ability, making 57 saves from 61 shots.

DC MID DIARIES

GAME 90 D.C Dragons vs Vancouver Wolves

4-2 Vancouver

The reunion of L and R in D.C showed to be strong with D.C today. R put up a very strong game with two goals, eight shots and seven shot blocks in nearly 28 minutes played, having both of D.C's goals. L assisted on the first a little over 9 minutes into the game. Vancouver's offense and constant shots just showed to be too much in this game. Dragon's goalie Barry Taffe put up an impressive .934 after stopping 57 of 61 shots but it just wasn't enough. Henry Tucker continued his path as a top VHLer with two goals and an assist, a fight, eleven shots and four hits. Joe Madison and Robin Galante Nilsson both had a pair of assists each. Omi Aberg also had a two point game with a goal and an assist. This game featured two fights, the first between Henry Tucker and Ove Dyrdahl happened half way through the third period with Tucker coming out as the winner, completing the Gordie Howe hat trick. The second fight was seven minutes later with less than three minutes remaining in the game. This fight saw a draw between Jivere Zolnek and Ove Drydahl, again. Vancouver continues their wrath as a team realized how to break the system, winning yet another game.
